LIAR: Abbie Wills sent police to investigate a rape that never happened in Scotland
A WOMAN who cried rape has been caught out after CCTV exposed her lies as she was actually shopping at Morrisons.
Abbie Will was revealed as a liar after cops checked the cameras of her local supermarket after she accused a man of rape.
The 20-year-old had told police she was hit over the head before being assaulted near a secondary school over Christmas, 2016.
Detectives launched a week-long probe into the seemingly shocking allegations.
Will yesterday finally confessed to wasting police time as she appeared at Aberdeen Sheriff Court.
CCTV footage revealed she had been in Morrisons and was nowhere near where she had claimed to have been raped.
The court heard Will visited a police station on December 24 and told officers she had been raped on a grassy area next to Peterhead Academy.
Officers found CCTV of her walking towards the area of the school – both to and form home.
Detectives noticed she had not handed the clothes she was wearing to the police and appeared be “normal and not dishevelled”.
Police then looked at security cameras at her local Morrisons – which revealed she had been in the shop during the time she claimed to have been raped.
Fiscal depute Sally Macauley said: “The accused had entered there at around 6.29pm and left at 7.02pm.
This meant that the man “would not have had the opportunity” to rape her.
“Police found the allegation to be false,” Ms Macauley said.
Sheriff Morag McLaughlin released the 20-year-old on bail to allow for the preparation of a social work report.
