So if your candidate loses, regardless of what race it's in, I guess it's all because of 'voter suppression'? :-k

Sen. Bernie Sanders’ (I-VT) hardcore supporters say that, despite assurances from the Democratic National Committee that left-leaning voters will fall in line behind the likely Democratic presidential nominee, they’re ready to “resist” casting a ballot for former Vice President Joe Biden, “even if that means handing [President Donald] Trump a second term,” according to the New York Post.

Biden pulled well ahead of Sanders in the delegate count last week after inking convincing victories in the South Carolina primary, several major Super Tuesday states, and in the all-important battleground state of Michigan, where he beat the Vermont socialist by a respectable 14 points.

But although Biden is now considered the front-runner for the Democratic nomination, many Sanders’ supporters believe the former Veep’s remarkable comeback from near complete obscurity was orchestrated by Democratic powers-that-be and that powerful “moderates” are pressing Sanders out of competition for the nod.

They’re planning to fight back.

“We will never – NEVER boost or support Joe Biden or defend his abysmal record and terrible policy positions,” one progressive activist told the New York Post. “We will tell people, as we always have, to vote their conscience and to make decisions based on the interests of all the world’s oppressed people … I do expect a massive exodus from the Democratic Party.”

“I don’t know if I could vote for Biden,” one “high-profile local Democratic Socialist” added. “Biden is just an old white guy who inspires nobody. I sincerely think he will lose the electoral and popular vote and I know I won’t be voting for him in New York.”

The “Bernie Bros,” as Sanders’ die-hard supporters are called, are notoriously aggressive, attacking Sanders’ detractors on social media and, more recently, taking their opposition to the Democratic “establishment” into real life, allegedly threatening Democratic party officials and even, in one case, causing a near-riot at a Democratic party event in Nevada. Several had to be forcibly removed from the Nevada Democratic Party’s annual convention at a Las Vegas casino after throwing objects and reportedly threatening speakers who had disqualified several Sanders delegates.

In 2016, after Sanders lost the party’s presidential nomination to Hillary Clinton — a loss the “Bernie Bros” blamed on the DNC and “superdelegates” who declared their affiliation to Clinton before the primaries began — “[a] whopping 12% of them voted for Trump in 2016, according to an analysis by Cooperative Congressional Election Study. That added up to roughly 216,000 voters in Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, exit polls showed. Trump’s combined margin of victory in those states was 77,744.”

That doesn’t change their calculus, though, the “Bernie Bros” say.

Sanders himself is staying in the race, even though it’s unlikely he’ll make up the difference in delegates between now and July. The Sanders campaign announced Wednesday that the Vermont socialist plans on attending Sunday night’s presidential debate, now moved to Washington, D.C. from Phoenix, Arizona, over coronavirus concerns, and will compete in Tuesday’s primaries (most of which are still on despite “social distancing” policies). Sanders has the money and support to remain competitive for some time, and his supporters hope that his continued presence boosts progressive influence within the party — even if Sanders’ base seems smaller in 2020 than it was in 2016.

“I think staying in the race is the responsible thing to do,” one notable progresssive added. “He needs to challenge Biden on certain aspects of his rhetoric. He needs to accumulate clout and delegates to shape the Democratic platform and pressure the Biden campaign into adopting a more popular economic platform.”

Joe Biden walked out of Sunday night’s debate in a commanding position in the Democratic presidential primary after Bernie Sanders failed to land needed punches to slow the former vice president’s momentum, said The Post’s debate expert Eric Phillips.

“Bernie Sanders had to change the trajectory of this race and he did not do it,” commented Phillips, who previously served as Mayor Bill de Blasio’s press secretary. “I think we’re talking about a matter of days before Sanders has to give it up.”

Phillips said that not only did the sometimes gaffe-prone Biden manage to avoid major stumbles, he also managed to project the needed strength to reassure voters frightened by the coronavirus pandemic sweeping the country — which has hit New York especially hard.

“The Biden that we saw Sunday night — when he’s rested and put in a position to project steady leadership — can absolutely go toe to toe with Donald Trump,” he added. “Biden did what he had to do and in a moment when everyone is understandably nervous about leadership, Biden was the one on the stage who projected it.

Joe Biden: The nation is panicked and Joe Biden seemed like the person you’d rather have on the wheel to steer us out. He seemed rested and he delivered his best debate yet.

Arrow: Up

Bernie Sanders: Bernie needed to upset the trajectory of this race and he did not do it. He needed to extract progressive commitments out of Biden and he did not do it. That’s a loss.

Arrow: Down

Phillips said the debate featured three key moments that allowed Biden to claim a win — sometimes thanks to Sanders’ inability to box in his former Senate colleague.

1) Health care: “We’re in the middle of a deadly pandemic and Bernie couldn’t find a way to make this debate about health care. That needed to be his imperative. If anything, Biden put him on the defensive over single-payer in countries that haven’t contained coronavirus.”

2) Their records: “Bernie had Biden on the ropes over past Social Security comments. And Biden scored points on Bernie’s conservative record on guns. It was strange that neither seemed prepared for the obvious attacks.”

3) Foreign Policy: “Biden’s debate goal was to seem presidential — and on foreign policy, he was his most compelling. Bernie’s past support of authoritarian regimes was an easy entry point for Biden to globetrot the audience through his resume and make Bernie seem quixotic.”

Phillips is a longtime Democratic political adviser to local, state and federal campaigns and elected officials. He spent four years at City Hall, including three years as Mayor de Blasio’s longest-serving press secretary. He now works at a global crisis communications firm.

Ohio Republican Governor Mike DeWine announced on Monday night that he and Ohio Department of Health Director Dr. Amy Acton were ignoring a judge’s ruling and postponing Ohio’s presidential primary on Tuesday due to the coronavirus outbreak.

“During this time when we face an unprecedented public health crisis, to conduct an election tomorrow would force poll workers and voters to place themselves at an unacceptable health risk of contracting coronavirus,” DeWine wrote on Twitter. “As such, @DrAmyActon will order the polls closed as a health emergency. While the polls will be closed tomorrow, Secretary of State @FrankLaRose will seek a remedy through the courts to extend voting options so that every voter who wants to vote will be granted that opportunity.”
1239736020763127809
DeWine’s announcement came shortly after “Judge Richard A. Frye of the Franklin County Court of Common Pleas rejected the state’s request to push back voting to June 2,” The New York Times reported. “Dan Tierney, a spokesman for the governor, said Mr. LaRose would seek through the courts to have another date set for in-person voting in Ohio.”

Acton issued a Director’s Order on Monday night that stated: “To conduct an election at this time would force poll workers and voters to face an unacceptable risk of contracting COVID-19. COVID-19 is a respiratory disease that can result in serious illness or death, is caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus, which is a new strain of coronavirus that had not been previously identified in humans and can easily spread from person to person.”

Acton then documented the progression of the coronavirus in a nearly 2-page long timeline before concluding, “Accordingly, to avoid an imminent threat with a high probability of widespread exposure to COVID-19 with a significantly risk of substantial harm to a large number of people in the general population, including the elderly and people with weakened immune systems and chronic medical conditions, I hereby ORDER all polling locations in the State of Ohio closed on March 17, 2020. This Order shall take effect immediately and remain in full force until the State of Emergency declared by the Governor no longer exists, or the Director of the Ohio Department of Health rescinds or modifies this Order.”

Sen. Bernie Sanders’ (I-VT) advisors are laying the groundwork for possible objections to the ultimate delegate count, suggesting on national cable news programs that entities, including various states and the Democratic party as a whole, are working to “supress” Sanders’ supporters votes.

Sanders and former Vice President Joe Biden are going head to head in three states Tuesday, Illinois, Florida, and Arizona. Ohio was slated to have a primary contest Tuesday but, after a protracted legal battle that went deep into Monday night, the state’s governor effectively postponed the contest, rescheduling the vote until the summer, when the threat of coronavirus has, hopefully, passed.

Biden is expected to win all three contests by a substantial margin. In Florida, the former Veep leads in polls by more than 40 points. In Illinois, Biden leads by 20 points and, in some Congressional disticts, by as much as 70 points. In Arizona, Biden is likely to win by between 20 and 30 points.

Until yesterday, Biden was also leading in Ohio. But by the time that primary surfaces yet again, he may well have snagged the 1,991 delegates he needs to secure the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination.

Until a few weeks ago, Sanders’ campaign was still holding out hope that, at the very worst, they could force a brokered convention. Now, it seems, they are hoping to delegitimize Biden’s win by suggesting the DNC conspired with state parties and voting authorities to keep Sanders’ supporters from the polls.

On Monday, Sanders adviser Phillip Agnew told CNN that holding certain primaries, including last week’s primary in Mississippi, during college spring breaks was a form of “voter suppression,” given that Bernie Sanders’ core demographic is voters under the age of 35.

“There were a number of black colleges who were on spring break during Election Day,” Agnew said. “So we are up against rampant voter suppression efforts that are pushing young black folks out of the booth.”

“I think across the board, the Democratic Party has a lot of work to do to make sure that young black folks and older black folks have access to the ballot box,” Agnew added. “And our campaign is proud to actually been a part of that. And it’s not just our campaign. Across the board, we got a lot of work to do.”

The vote in Mississippi wasn’t close; Joe Biden won the state 80% to 20%. College students were certainly not the difference between a Sanders win and a Sanders loss — and holding primaries a week earlier or later probably would not have given Sanders an edge, particularly given that, across the board, Sanders’ supporters have been willing to attend rallies but less willing to cast ballots.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) now famously made the same claim about young voters in Michigan who were “suppressed” because same-day voter registration lines at the Ann Arbor, Michigan, city clerk’s offices were sometimes hours long — even though college students could have registered to vote at any time before last Tuesday’s primary.

“I think one thing that isn’t being talked about is the rampant voter suppression in this country,” Ocasio-Cortez told Fox News. “Right there, in Ann Arbor, where we had that rally, those kids were waiting three hours in line to vote in Michigan.”

But, the Detroit News reported, Ocasio-Cortez had her story wrong.

“The long lines were at clerks’ offices, not polling stations, multiple election officials said. At the clerks’ offices, some voters, especially in college areas, waited in line to register to vote on Election Day before casting their ballots,” a spokesperson for Michigan’s Secretary of State, Democrat Jocelyn Benson, reportedly told the paper.

A change, which allowed for same-day registration “significantly increased the Election Day workload for local election clerks,” the spokesperson added. “Our office worked to provide them extra support, but long lines were unavoidable when, late in the day, thousands of same-day registrants simultaneously went to a handful of clerks’ offices.”

Ann Arbor’s city clerk attacked Ocasio-Cortez’s statements directly: “That’s simply not true and to state that is misleading,” she said.”In fact, there were hardly any wait times anywhere in the city, except at city hall to register to vote.”

Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) may be approaching an exit to the 2020 presidential race, with reports indicating that the candidate’s senior-level staffers have been holding talks with former Vice President Joe Biden’s team.

According to Axios, the Sanders campaign suspended Facebook ads for the self-avowed democratic socialist’s second presidential bid, which received a crushing electoral blow from the three states holding Democratic primaries on Tuesday.

Furthermore, Kate Bedingfield, the deputy campaign manager for the Biden campaign, has informed The Washington Post that the Sanders campaign and Biden campaign “have been in regular contact at a senior level” to discuss coronavirus.

“While the two campaigns obviously have their differences, they are working together to try to promote the health and safety of their teams, those who interact with the campaigns, and the American people,” said Bedingfield.

The news agency also reports that Sanders did not ask supporters for donations in an email Wednesday, and that the senator has plans “to leave Washington and return home, where he and his wife, Jane, would talk to supporters and determine the future of his presidential run.”

“Biden campaign officials have also adopted an internal policy of no longer attacking Sanders,” reports the news agency.

According to The New York Times, Biden pushed for Democratic unity while speaking to supporters after a resounding victory in Tuesday’s voting contests, and even declared that he and Sanders, a self-avowed democratic socialist, share a “common vision” for healthcare, income inequality, and climate change.

“Senator Sanders and his supporters have brought a remarkable passion and tenacity to all of these issues, and together, they have shifted the fundamental conversation in this country,” said Biden, reports the news agency.

“So let me say, especially to the young voters who have been inspired by Senator Sanders: I hear you,” said Biden, reports the news agency. “I know what’s at stake. I know what we have to do. Our goal as a campaign, and my goal as a candidate for president, is to unify this party and then to unify the nation.”

The former vice president, who has pitched his campaign as a return to normalcy, endorsed Sanders’ free college plan and Senator Elizabeth Warren’s (D-MA) bankruptcy plan in a tweet thread.

“Bernie has put forward a plan that would make public colleges and universities free for families whose income is below $125,000,” said Biden in a tweet Sunday. “It’s a good idea, and after consideration, I am proud to add it to my platform.”

“Few people in the country understand how bankruptcy hurts working families more than Elizabeth Warren,” said Biden in a follow-up tweet. “Today, I am fully endorsing and adopting her bankruptcy plan.”
1239280176594288643
During a bankruptcy bill hearing in 2005, then-Senator Joe Biden told Warren, who was testifying about the bill, that she was putting forward a “mildly demagogic” argument, reports NPR.

Just days after his commanding primary victories in Florida, Arizona and Illinois, the coronavirus has turned former Vice President Joe Biden into a virtual prisoner of his Delaware home, where he’s reduced to sniping at President Trump from the family rec room.

“He’s making himself irrelevant,” Saikat Chakrabarti, a former chief of staff to Queens Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, told The Post, saying the virtual broadcasts were not helping. “We need action immediately, and Biden can’t do anything real right now.”

Biden has been forced to watch from the sidelines as President Trump steals the spotlight with daily coronavirus briefings that have been a ratings smash.

Though some experts have criticized the president for spreading inaccurate information and promoting untested antibiotics during his briefings, polls suggest Americans are increasingly pleased with his performance handling the deadly pandemic.

The latest findings from Gallup show the president with a 49% approval rating, approaching a career high he last enjoyed in February during the height of his Senate impeachment trial. The same survey found 60% of Americans now approve of his handling of the coronavirus crisis, including more than a quarter of Democrats.

“I think Trump is being seen as handing the pandemic well by the public even though he was too late to start procuring any [personal protective equipment],” Chakrabarti said, explaining the polling bounce, adding that Biden missed his moment to make an impression. “[Trump] is the only one going up every day and talking to the American people.”

Sen. Bernie Sanders — whose challenge to Biden for the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination is sagging — has been in D.C. helping to hammer out trillions of dollars in coronavirus relief spending. The 78-year has also held several in depth coronavirus town halls via Facebook Live.

But Biden has gone nearly dark. Aside from a call with reporters, and a virtual live-stream appearance at a fundraiser on Sunday, the ex-vice president reappeared on television on March 24.

And his appearances have not gone smoothly.

On his first day back on the air, Biden sat for an interview with CNN’s Jake Tapper. During the brief Q&A, Biden coughed repeatedly into his fist shortly after telling the anchor he had no symptoms of coronavirus and had not been tested. At one point Tapper even scolded the vice president for not directing coughs into his elbow.

The coughing came along with the usual Biden word salads. On “The View” that same day, the former veep told guest co-host Sara Haines that “we have to take care of the cure. That will make the problem worse no matter what.”

He also had an emotional moment during a virtual CNN town hall Friday talking about personal loss and almost gave out his telephone number on live television.

Many Democrats and armchair pundits have unflatteringly compared Biden’s performance with Gov. Cuomo, who has won praise from both sides of the aisle for his smooth command of facts, regular virus updates and tough, no-nonsense approach to defiant New Yorkers. The fervor peaked as the hashtag #PresidentCuomo zipped across Twitter last week.

“He is currently the only Democrat showing leadership in a moment of crisis, at least publicly,” Chakrabarti said. “Cuomo is doing the daily press conference, he’s leading in a way that President Trump was.”

Reps for Biden’s campaign declined to comment for this story.

Though the pandemic has prevented Biden from deploying his famous retail political skills, his campaign has tried to remain active, putting out a blizzard of press statements including his own “action plan to save the economy.”

He’s made overtures to the base even while in isolation, including checking in to DJ D-Nice’s “Club Quarantine” party on Instagram last week and making a virtual appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” Thursday.

The campaign is also confident Trump will ultimately botch the coronavirus response.

“Donald Trump’s failure to take this virus seriously in the face of urgent and obvious warning signs will go down as one of most incompetent and ultimately harmful decisions by a president in recent history,” a Biden aide told The Post.

Biden continues to hold a small but enduring lead over Trump in national head-to-head polls, with recent surveys from Emerson, Monmouth and NBCNews/WSJ all showing him out front. A Fox News polls this week gave him a 9 point lead.

Other Democrats said Trump’s 60 percent coronavirus rating should be taken with a grain of salt.

“During the Iran Hostage crisis, Carter had a 67 approval. For a leader in a time of crisis this is a pretty crappy rating. The Bushes both had 90s at one time,” Democratic strategist James Carville told The Post. “I think Biden will win easily. I don’t think it will be particularly close.”

President Trump is going to get another four years in the White House, isn't he?

The 2020 presidential election is starting to mirror the 2016 election in even the small details, including the parade of supposed experts in news media confidently predicting the Democratic establishment’s odds of electoral success in the fall.

On Wednesday, after Sen. Bernie Sanders dropped out of the 2020 Democratic primary, NBC News anchor Andrea Mitchell and her guests all agreed that the Vermont lawmaker’s decision represents the “worst-case” scenario for Trump. Why? Because it means the president now has to run against his “nightmare” opponent, former Vice President Joe Biden.

These people are out of their minds if they think this White House is more afraid of a candidate with a still-undefined campaign message than the left-wing populist with a fervently fanatic fan base.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VhLMuYsYGeA

Former Obama campaign manager Jim Messina went first, saying Wednesday on MSNBC that Biden all but formally winning the Democratic nomination is Trump’s “worst nightmare.”

“The Ukraine stuff,” Messina said, “everything else [Trump has] been doing for the past year and a half has been trying to make sure Joe Biden is not his opponent, and this morning it is clear Joe Biden will be his opponent, which is the best-case scenario for the Democrats.”

Surely Messina does not actually believe that Trump and his campaign’s laser-like focus on Biden’s questionable overseas dealings has been all about the 2020 Democratic primary. Surely Messina is not that short-sighted. You'd better believe that Ukraine stuff is going to feature prominently in the general election, this time with the general electorate more familiar than ever with the particulars.

The Obama campaign alumnus continued, arguing that Sanders dropping out of the primary, “allows the two big powers in the Democratic party, Barack, and in some ways, as importantly, Michelle Obama, to come off the sidelines and get involved.”

Wait – what? Surely Messina is aware that Barack and Michelle Obama campaigned for failed two-time presidential candidate Hillary Clinton in 2016. How did that work out?

Andrea Mitchell agreed with Messina, telling her guests, including New York Times reporter Peter Baker, that Sanders dropping out is “is the worst-case scenario for President Trump.”

However, Mitchell added, Trump “does have a megaphone and a platform here with these daily briefings, which no matter how badly the administration is being criticized … he still is gaining a lot of traction and shutting out, certainly shutting out Joe Biden and his campaign efforts since Super Tuesday.”

Well, yes. There is the fact that the president is, well, the president. There is also the fact that Biden has been confined to broadcasting his campaign from his home thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic. Speaking of which, 44% of voters believe Trump is better suited to lead the United States during the coronavirus crisis than Biden, who captured only 36% of support, according to a recent Politico/Morning Consult survey.

Look, what I am saying is that Biden has an enormous uphill battle ahead of him. He is trapped in his basement while trying to campaign during a pandemic against an incumbent populist president. Trump has a clearly defined doctrine, whereas Biden, like Clinton in 2016, struggles to explain his purpose for running. Sanders did not have that problem. Speaking of which, Biden will have to contend also with a somewhat fractured party. It is an open question whether Sanders’s supporters will stay home on Election Day.

Anyone who says Biden’s ascent to the nomination is a “nightmare” or a “worst-case” scenario for Trump, who has shown already he can defeat a candidate with no clearly defined campaign message, has no idea what he or she is saying.

We saw this sort of thing in 2016. Members of the news media got essentially everything about the election wrong. Based on the discussion Wednesday at MSNBC, 2020 could be more of the same.

I've been flipping trough all the news channels on Pluto TV lately, Many are reporting on the virus, CNN is splitting time between the virus and little digs at Trump.

MSNBC is non stop anti Trump fake rhetoric. Every time I flip past it there's some different "expert" (usually someone from a 3rd rate newspaper) with some made up story about how bad our president is.

Everyone rips on CNN and I've seen my fair share of BS come from there but MSNBC is WAAAAY worse, I've seen more accurate reporting in the magazine racks at the grocery checkout. /rant

People rip on CNN way more because they claim to be unbiased, whereas MSNBC doesn't hide the fact that they are a left wing liberal news outlet.

True.
Funny thing is all the liberals that say "Yea but Fox is worse" Sure Fox is right leaning but at least you can tell the difference between their opinion shows and news stories. For the most part the stories are fact based. Even the opinion shows have a pretty good historical track record when it comes to Trump. All the "scandals" the dems and LWM have started about him and which side ended up being right every time?

In the wake of Bernie Sanders’ announcement that he has suspended his 2020 presidential campaign, the Vermont senator’s most ardent supporters poured out their emotions on social media.

Sanders, the front-runner in February, acknowledged on Wednesday he no longer had a viable path to the Democratic nomination after a string of nominating contest losses to Joe Biden but promised to work with the former vice president to oust President Donald Trump.

“Then together, standing united, we will go forward to defeat Donald Trump, the most dangerous president in modern American history,” he said in a livestreamed speech to supporters from his hometown of Burlington, Vermont.

The 78-year-old senator, whose progressive agenda pulled the party sharply to the left, had early success in the Democratic race before losing in South Carolina in late February as moderate Democrats united behind Biden.

With their dreams of seeing Sanders in the White House shattered, some of the democratic socialist’s most passionate followers on Wednesday vowed not to rally behind the presumptive nominee.

And even more took to Twitter to vent their feelings of betrayal, anguish and confusion.
1247967764456718336
Pro-life advocate and artist Camellia Alexian even urged sympathy toward Sanders’ supporters “going through a difficult time.”

“Please check on them make sure they’re okay,” she tweeted.

Prominent Sanders supporters in the media, including radical leftist activist Linda Sarsour and controversial feminist journalist Talia Lavin, said they were “heartbroken” by the news.
1247943307851751424
Liberal actress Emily Ratajkowski said she felt “hopeless and devastated and powerless” by Sanders’ announcement.
1247911103478272000
Briahna Joy Gray, Sanders’ national press secretary, saw a silver lining in the whole affair:
1247957276104757248
Many Sanders supporters on Twitter turned to memes to express their agony:

Others advocated for outright anarchy:

Some conservatives, meanwhile, celebrated the pain being felt by their ideological opponents.

The departure of Sanders, the last remaining rival to Biden, sets up a long battle for the White House between the 77-year-old former vice president and Trump, 73, who is seeking a second four-year term in office.

The New York Times stealth-edited its article on the sexual-assault allegation against Joe Biden by his former Senate staffer Tara Reade just minutes after it was published on Sunday morning, removing all references in a key paragraph to the multiple past accusations by seven women that the former vice president had touched them inappropriately.

The Times piece also focuses on unrelated sexual misconduct accusations against President Trump, and largely dismisses Reade's allegations as uncorroborated by her co-workers -- even though the Times notes later in its piece that Reade's claim was contemporaneously corroborated by two of Reade's friends.

According to a copy of the Times' article saved by the Internet archive Wayback Machine, the Times originally reported: "No other allegation about sexual assault surfaced in the course of reporting, nor did any former Biden staff members corroborate any details of Ms. Reade’s allegation. The Times found no pattern of sexual misconduct by Mr. Biden, beyond the hugs, kisses and touching that women previously said made them uncomfortable."

That paragraph now reads: "No other allegation about sexual assault surfaced in the course of reporting, nor did any former Biden staff members corroborate any details of Ms. Reade’s allegation. The Times found no pattern of sexual misconduct by Mr. Biden."
1249364556058591233
The Times' handling of Reade's accusations, conservative commentators and some Democrats said, stood in stark contrast to how the media and several senators handled accusations about Associate Justice Brett Kavanaugh.

Reade filed a report with Washington, D.C., police on Thursday concerning her allegation that Biden penetrated her without consent in 1993. Fox News has confirmed with the District’s police department that she filed the criminal complaint, which does not reference Biden by name. The Biden campaign has strongly denied Reade's accusation, although the former vice president has previously acknowledged that he should change his behavior around women.

The Times' piece contained other references to the several women who have said Biden touched them in inappropriate ways, but deleted any mention of them in the section of its article that asserted that Biden had no "pattern" of misconduct.

The Times offered no explanation for the stealth-edit on its website, nor did it respond to Fox News' request for comment. The paper made a similar late edit last September, when it updated a story about a newly resurfaced accusation against Kavanaugh to note that the supposed accuser didn't remember the alleged assault. The update came after virtually all 2020 Democratic presidential candidates cited the story to call for impeaching Kavanaugh.

The Times' editorial guidlines call for editors' notes "generally to acknowledge a journalistic lapse other than a factual error."

On Twitter, at 11:54 a.m. ET on Sunday, the Times tweeted: "We've deleted a tweet in this thread that had some imprecise language that has been changed in the story." The paper had initially begun tweeting excerpts from the published article at 5:39 a.m. ET, including the sentence about Biden's "hugs, kisses, and touching."
1249365361939660802
Additionally, the Times buried a reference to the story in its morning email to readers, after a section on Bernie Sanders withdrawing from the presidential race several paragraphs deep into the email.

Both the Times' original article and the updated version generated swift backlash.

"The@nytimes deleted this tweet and also did an unacknowledged edit of this out of their story. Brave," wrote Jeremy Scahill, the co-founder of The Intercept. "What would the correction even say? “An earlier version of this story contained a true statement that the Biden campaign demanded we remove so we cut it without alerting our readers.” Something like that?"

"I’m not sure how that line from the NYT’s long-delayed coverage of Tara Reade’s accusation can sit alongside reporting that 7 other women have accused Biden of sexual misconduct," wrote Bernie Sanders' national press secretary Briahna Joy Gray.

She also noted that Sanders had "graciously" not mentioned Biden's "credible sexual assault allegations," "pattern of unwanted touching," involvement with Burisma Holdings, or "lying [about his] civil rights record."

Added journalist Glenn Greenwald: "Do you think people won't notice that liberal institutions and media outlets spent months maligning Brett Kavanaugh's defenders as misogynistic rape apologists, only to now invoke all their arguments to defend Joe Biden & demean Tara Reade? Do you think people are that dumb?"

https://i.imgur.com/0j6yP5d.png

"New York Times absolutely knows what they are doing is biased & corrupt because of how they treated Kavanaugh, and they also know they can stand there with sh-- eating smiles about it because no other journalists will say sh-- about it," wrote commentator Stephen Miller.

Prior to the Times' updated edit, Miller sarcastically called the Times' original paragraph "art."

"What the $#@!, @nytimes?" asked commentator Josh Jordan. "Not to repeat myself, but this isn't about the Tara Reade accusations, but Biden's (and the NYT's) hypocrisy," added lawyer Scott Greenfield. "Either it's due process for all or none. Biden doesn't get a pass."

In its piece on Reade's accusations, the Times goes on to warn that "fling a false police report may be punishable by a fine and imprisonment."

By contrast, the Times, in 2018, was largely sympathetic to Kavanaugh's accusers, even publishing an article titled, "For Christine Blasey Ford, a Drastic Turn From a Quiet Life in Academia." Ford's close lifelong friend, Leland Keyser, who Ford said had attended the party where Kavanaugh allegedly assaulted her, has told reporters she did not believe Ford's story and felt pressured to lie about it.

https://i.imgur.com/Ma3XAhA.png

“I don’t have any confidence in the story,” Keyser said. "Those facts together I don't recollect, and it just didn't make any sense," she added, referring to Ford's explanation of how she was assaulted at a party that Keyser attended, but could not recall how she got home.

And, in a "News Analysis," the Times wrote a sympathetic piece concerning Kavanaugh accuser Deborah Ramirez: "Brett Kavanaugh Fit In With the Privileged Kids. She Did Not."

(During that period, the Times also covered sexual harassment allegations against ex-CDC chief Dr. Tom Frieden, a Democrat, and former New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman, also a Democrat.)

Democrats similarly took a far more aggressive approach during the Kavanaugh episode. Sen. Mazie Horono, D-Hawaii, for example, likened the confirmation process to a "job interview," and said a lower standard of proof applied to accusations of misconduct. Hirono also cited Kavanaugh's legal "philosophy" as a reason to suspect his guilt.
1249347247780900866
In its piece on Sunday, the Times notes that Reade was "hired in December 1992 and paid by Mr. Biden’s office until August 1993" -- in contrast to several of Kavanaugh's accusers, including Ford, who presented no definitive evidence that they had ever met the judge.

Early in the article, the Times asserted that "no former Biden staff members corroborate any details of Ms. Reade’s allegation." But several paragraphs later, the paper noted that a slew of other women, including some who had experience with Biden, did find the accusations credible.

"A friend said that Ms. Reade told her about the alleged assault at the time, in 1993," the Times wrote. "A second friend recalled Ms. Reade telling her in 2008 that Mr. Biden had touched her inappropriately and that she’d had a traumatic experience while working in his office."

Concerning that paragraph, Townhall political editor and Fox News contributor Guy Benson observed: "I don't know whether Ms. Reade is telling the truth, and the presumption of innocence is a vital pillar of our justice system. But this detail alone presents more contemporaneous evidence against Biden than was ever presented against Kavanaugh:"

"Now consider how these two cases have been treated by the media," Benson said. "There is nothing even approaching a consistent standard here. The bias is just right out there in the open, for all to see. Utterly undeniable."

In its piece, the Times conceded that "[t]he seven other women who had complained about Mr. Biden told the Times this month that they did not have any new information about their experiences to add, but several said they believed Ms. Reade’s account."

But the paper then quickly pivoted to President Trump.

https://i.imgur.com/Dyikfv8.png

"President Trump has been accused of sexual assault and misconduct by more than a dozen women, who have described a pattern of behavior that went far beyond the accusations against Mr. Biden," the paper wrote.

Observed Reason's Robby Soave: "New York Times story about Tara Reade’s sexual assault allegation against Biden is harsher toward Trump."

Biden, who has previously said that women leveling misconduct accusations should be presumptively believed, has largely gone unchallenged by the media concerning Reade's claim. Biden has acknowledged that he needs to change his behavior towards women, saying, "I get it."

“Women have a right to tell their story, and reporters have an obligation to rigorously vet those claims. We encourage them to do so, because these accusations are false,” Kate Bedingfield, deputy campaign manager and communications director for the Biden campaign, said in a statement to Fox News in March, concerning Reade's claim.

Reade has come forward before — last year, when multiple women emerged claiming inappropriate touching by Biden. Reade, at the time, claimed Biden put his hands on her shoulders and rubbed his fingers up and down her neck, but was unable to gain traction on her story aside from an article in a local newspaper.

But in late March, Reade told a far more graphic account, with different and more serious details, raising the allegation to the level of sexual assault.

https://i.imgur.com/gYwQlEdl.jpg

Reade’s story first resurfaced in an article in The Intercept. She then was interviewed by podcast host Katie Halper.

There, Reade claimed that in 1993, she was asked by a more senior member of Biden’s staff to bring the then-senator his gym bag near the Capitol building, which led to the encounter in question.

“He greeted me, he remembered my name, and then we were alone. It was the strangest thing,” Reade told Halper. “There was no like, exchange really. He just had me up against the wall.”

Reade said that she was wearing “a business skirt,” but “wasn’t wearing stockings — it was a hot day.”
1249366629877780482
She continued: “His hands were on me and underneath my clothes, and he went down my skirt and then up inside it and he penetrated me with his fingers and he was kissing me at the same time and he was saying some things to me.”

Reade claimed Biden first asked if she wanted “to go somewhere else.”

“I pulled away, he got finished doing what he was doing,” Reade said. “He said: ‘Come on, man. I heard you liked me.’”
1249376816818782215
She said she felt that “everything shattered in that moment.” Reade went on to allege that Biden looked at her and said “you’re nothing to me.”

Reade said she attempted to share her story last year, but no one listened to her.

She added: “If people want to know why women don’t come forward, that’s a good example of why.”

I'm not sure why Bernie didn't endorse Trump.

Mailing $1,200 checks to people who didn't work at all in 2019, while excluding people who worked hard to earn over $98K? Sure sounds like the "universal income" paid by socialist nations. Having the Federal Government use taxpayer funds to pay for corona virus treatment for both voluntarily and involuntarily uninsured Americans at rates set by Medicare? Isn't that a single-payer health insurance system feature?

Oh well. I guess it just proves the old saw that both Conservatives and Liberals oppose government interference in their lives unless it's to their benefit.

Bernie Sanders endorsed Joe Biden for president on Monday, but any illusions that the move would bring an end to long-simmering tensions between the Democratic Party's liberal and moderate wings quickly evaporated in a matter of minutes.

Briahna Joy Gray, who served as Sanders' national press secretary, and prominent Sanders surrogate Shaun King immediately took aim at Biden -- and they made it clear just how much the former vice president's platform differed from Sanders' longstanding policy goals.

"With the utmost respect for Bernie Sanders, who is an incredible human being & a genuine inspiration, I don't endorse Joe Biden," Gray wrote. "I supported Bernie Sanders because he backed ideas like #MedicareForAll, cancelling ALL student debt, & a wealth tax. Biden supports none of those."

Additionally, Gray indicated she agreed that it was "almost insulting" for Biden to suggest lowering the Medicare eligibility age to 60, in lieu of adopting universal health coverage.

Gray had also hammered Biden on Sunday after The New York Times belatedly covered a sexual assault allegation against him on Sunday: "I’m not sure how that line from the NYT’s long-delayed coverage of Tara Reade’s accusation can sit alongside reporting that 7 other women have accused Biden of sexual misconduct," Gray tweeted. (Biden's campaign has denied the accusation.)
1249775161689214976
She then noted that Sanders, during the campaign, had "graciously" not mentioned Biden's "credible sexual assault allegations," "pattern of unwanted touching," involvement with Burisma Holdings, or "lying [about his] civil rights record."

Meanwhile, as Sanders and Biden conversed via livestream on Monday, King called the moment an obviously choreographed and embarrassing exercise.

"I can hardly believe what I am watching. In his conversation with @BernieSanders, @JoeBiden is clearly reading from a TelePrompTer. It's supposed to be a CONVERSATION. I've never seen this happen in my entire life," he said.

https://i.imgur.com/gSOlu0Cl.jpg

King posted an article outlining a slew of requirements before he would consider endorsing Biden, including action on "mass incarceration" and a promise to pick a running mate to his satisfaction.

"I've now counted at least 50 times that @JoeBiden blatantly lied about his participation in the Civil Rights Movement from sit-ins he never participated in to marches he was not a part of, to being trained in Black churches as a boy," King wrote. "He must apologize & explain this."

A former Sanders aide told Fox News after the announcement that the senator "always said he was going to fully support the nominee and do everything he could to help them get Trump out of office, so this is just making good on his word which Bernie Sanders always does."
1249765850531405827
Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., who is closer ideologically with Sanders, still has not endorsed anybody since suspending her presidential campaign and has not responded to requests for comment on an update.

And, President Trump has also taken to pointing out that Biden still hasn't secured the support of his former boss Barack Obama.

"I don't know why President Obama hasn't supported Joe Biden a long time ago. There's something he feels is wrong," Trump said last week.

"He knows something that you don't know, that I think I know. But you don't know," he added. "I'm sure he's got to come out at some point because he certainly doesn't want to see me for four more years."

“Look if someone wants to ask me questions about things that I understand like MMA or like comedy like if you want to ask me questions about things that I think about and talk about all the time, I could talk to you and really clearly about those things and make a lot of sense,” Rogan continued. “[Biden] can’t do that about politics and he’s been a politician forever … he’s a guy who’s suffering.”

“There’s no way he beats Trump,” Schaub said.

“He doesn’t beat Trump,” Rogan responded.

“No, those two faceoff, Trump’s gonna light him up like a Comedy Central Roast,” Schaub said.

“[Trump’s] already dismissing [Biden],” Rogan said. “He’s gonna destroy him. He’s gonna kill him man. I mean it’s such an easy target, it’s like Mike Tyson versus a three-year-old.

Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, had some fun at the expense of "CBS This Morning" co-anchor Gayle King for telling onetime gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams that she is "extremely qualified" to be vice president.

Abrams, who became a progressive starlet following her narrow 2018 defeat against Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp (R), has been promoting her qualifications to be former Vice President Joe Biden's running mate as she has been on the shortlist of several female politicians who are being considered to share a ticket with the presumptive Democratic nominee.

During an interview on Tuesday, King asked Abrams why she believes she is a "good choice" for Biden.

"Part of my response not becoming governor in 2018 was not to hide my head but to really address the core issues facing our country," Abrams responded, pointing to initiatives on the census, financial relief for low-income Americans, and building state-level voting infrastructure.

"I believe I have the capacity, the competence, the skills, and the willingness to serve," she added.

"I just want to say that's a great nuts-and-bolts answer because everybody knows you're extremely qualified," King later complimented the Democrat.

Cruz mocked the CBS News anchor for showering Abrams with praise.

With the results of the Democratic presidential primary now all but certain, failed gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams of Georgia has begun actively campaigning to become former Vice President Joe Biden’s 2020 running mate.

“I try to be straightforward because, while we hope the work speaks for itself, sometimes the work needs a hype-man,” Abrams, who was the minority leader in the Georgia House of Representative before she campaigned for governor and lost, said during an episode of “The View,” reports Mediaite.

“I think Vice President Biden is going to make a smart choice,” Abrams told “The View” co-host Sunny Hostin, who asked Abrams if it would be a “slap in the face” if Biden didn’t select a woman of color as his running mate.

“I would share your concern about not picking a woman of color, because women of color, particularly black women, are the strongest part of the Democratic party — the most loyal,” she said.

“Now, that loyalty isn’t just how we vote, it’s how we work,” said Abrams. “And if we want to signal that that work would continue,” she said, “then we need a ticket that reflects the diversity of America.”

During an interview with Elle Magazine published last Wednesday, Abrams surprised the magazine by bucking established political convention and openly proclaiming that she should be Biden’s running mate.

“I would be an excellent running mate,” said Abrams. “I have the capacity to attract voters by motivating typically ignored communities. I have a strong history of executive and management experience in the private, public, and nonprofit sectors.”

“I’ve spent 25 years in independent study of foreign policy. I am ready to help advance an agenda of restoring America’s place in the world. If I am selected, I am prepared and excited to serve,” she said.

According to Politico, the Biden campaign plans to start a committee next month to begin vetting candidates, and the former vice president anticipates that he could have a formal shortlist of three people by July.

With that said, Democratic sources told The New York Post earlier this month that Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN)is leading the pack among potential candidates. Senators Kamala Harris (D-CA) and Tammy Duckworth (D-IL) occupy the mid-tier of likely picks, alongside Governor Gretchen Whitmer (D-MI). The Michigan governor’s recent habit of blasting the Trump administration has earned her criticism from the Detroit News editorial board, which has accused her of “sending conflicting signals about her priorities and motivations.”

Abrams reportedly occupies the bottom tier, along with several other long-shots, including the governor of New Mexico and a senator from Nevada. A campaign insider told the news agency that Abrams’ lack of experience is a political liability, and that the former vice president wants a candidate who could theoretically serve as president from day one.

Keeping track of the 2020 race for president by watching Joe Biden versus Donald Trump is now old school and outdated.

These days, you also have to keep an eye on social media where Trump gets far more attention with the help of looney websites and the Russians.

And eyes wide open at the work being done for Biden by four black Democrats — let’s call them the “Fantastic Four.”

Here they are – President Obama; former first lady Michelle Obama; former Attorney General Eric Holder and former Georgia state House minority leader, Stacey Abrams.

Let’s begin with the former president, the most powerful political player not currently in office.

When Obama endorsed Biden earlier this month, The New York Times ran a quote describing Obama as having unique superpowers. He is “a surrogate unlike anyone else anyone can bring to bear — I mean, who has Trump got?” said Democratic pollster Joel Benenson.

Good question.

Even if the previous Republican in the White House, President George W. Bush, agreed to campaign for Trump, he does not excite Trump’s anti-Republican establishment base of voters.

How about Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.)? I’ll let you answer that.

By contrast, Obama is revered among Democratic voters. He even has pull among swing state independent voters, some of whom backed Obama before voting for Trump.

Obama also has the power to stir up the maximum turnout from black voters, the most reliable voting bloc among Democrats and a group that overwhelmingly disapproves of Trump, as shown in poll after poll.

Getting the full black vote to the polls could be fatal to Trump’s reelection. In 2016, the black voter turnout declined 7 percentage points from 2012. Almost 67 percent of black voters turned out to reelect Obama whereas that figure fell to 60 percent four years later.

The absence of those black voters in swing states was bad news for Hillary Clinton. She lost Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin by a narrow margin, a combined total of about 80,000 votes.

Black voters in those states, potentially energized by Obama, can erase that shortfall by themselves.

Obama also retains appeal to older, white moderate voters who twice put him in the White House. And his reputation for competence and compassion makes him an effective critic of Trump’s bungled response to the coronavirus pandemic.

The second member of this fantastic real-life foursome is his wife.

Michelle Obama grabbed headlines last week when Biden smiled at the idea of having her as his vice-presidential running mate.

“I’d take her in a heartbeat,” Biden said last week. “She’s brilliant. She knows the way around. She is a really fine woman. The Obamas are great friends.”

Since leaving office, the former first lady has stayed in the public eye and become the rare political leader who can fill arenas nationwide with female voters of all races.

Her memoir, “Becoming,” was the best-selling non-fiction book of 2019. A December Gallup survey said she is the “most admired woman in America,” a title she claimed for the second year in a row.

And she packs a political punch with her nonpartisan, nonprofit group to protect voting rights, “When We All Vote."

She started the group in 2018 and recently weighed in on the controversial decision by the GOP majority on the top Wisconsin court to insist on going ahead with the state’s primary election during the coronavirus.

"Americans should never have to choose between making their voices heard and keeping themselves and their families safe," Obama said, putting a new, compelling face in the front of the Democrats’ fight against voter suppression.

The third member of this Biden-backing group is Holder, Obama’s former attorney general. He is now chairman of the National Democratic Redistricting Committee, campaigning against GOP efforts to gerrymander congressional districts.

He is calling for an expansion of voting options including mail-in and absentee ballots. While these proposals are getting a closer look as a practical response to coronavirus, they could eliminate barriers to voting for elderly and minority voters if they become permanent.

The final member of the team is Stacey Abrams. She narrowly lost her race for governor of Georgia in 2018, but the powerful sight of a black woman doing well in southern politics made her a political rock star.

She wrote a best-selling book in 2018 and now heads up a non-profit encouraging people, particularly minorities, to fill out the 2020 Census so they can be accurately counted for federal aid and congressional reapportionment.

Biden has pledged to put a woman on his ticket and a black woman on the Supreme Court. Abrams’ name comes up regularly for consideration for both spots.

These four black champions hold the keys to a Biden victory by juicing Democrats’ energy and turnout in an election likely to be decided by which side gets out its voters.

Last year I wrote that “Obama has one more election to win for the Democrats.”

That is still true and a unified party behind Biden is ready to give him lots of help.

The Washington Post was slammed late Monday night for its bizarre framing of the latest developments that emerged surrounding the allegations made by Biden accuser Tara Reade.

Reade, who came forward last month accusing former Vice President Joe Biden of sexual assault as a Senate staffer in 1993, has had more corroborating evidence surface in recent days.

A clip from "Larry King Live" back in 1993 purportedly showing Reade's mother calling into the show anonymously and alluded to her daughter's "problems" she had with a "prominent senator" was brought to light on Friday. And on Monday, two more people, a former neighbor and a former colleague of Reade's, came forward to back her claims after conversations they've had back in the 90s.

However, a piece published by The Post raised eyebrows with its original headline that read, "Developments in allegations against Biden amplify efforts to question his behavior."
1254957071562407939
Not long after it was published, a new headline appeared in the report, "Trump allies highlight new claims regarding allegations against Biden."

"Some allies of President Trump pointed Monday to new claims by a woman who said she was told about sexual assault allegations against Joe Biden decades ago, renewing attention to questions about the past behavior of the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee," Washington Post reporter Matt Viser began.

The transcript of the "Larry King Live" clip was first reported by The Intercept, the outlet founded by progressive journalist Glenn Greenwald, and conservative watchdog group the Media Research Center later found the clip in its archives. Rich McHugh of Business Insider, who previously worked at NBC News after having had collaborated with Ronan Farrow on the Harvey Weinstein scandal, was the journalist who broke Monday's bombshell report.

As far as actual "Trump allies," the Post cites tweets made by the president's son, Donald Trump Jr., in reaction to the developments and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., who simply said the Biden allegations should be as scrutinized as the one leveled against Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh during his 2018 confirmation.

The report went on to note that it has "been a topic for other top Democrats," pointing to remarks made by potential VP candidates Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar and Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer despite the widespread silence among top Democratic lawmakers about the Biden allegations.

Viser, who was one of the reporters behind the paper's first report about Reade's claims on Easter Sunday, also mentioned the misconduct allegations Trump has faced.

The Post was widely panned on social media, some even pointing out the drastically different coverage Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh received when he was accused of misconduct during his 2018 confirmation.

"As an editor, I regard this headline as a hate crime and I will be pressing charges first thing in the morning," Washington Examiner executive editor Seth Mandel reacted on Twitter.

Biden himself has not addressed the claims from Reade -- but his campaign vehemently has denied the allegations. Biden's Deputy Campaign Manager Kate Bedingfield said in a statement: "What is clear about this claim: it is untrue. This absolutely did not happen."

Reade on Monday confirmed to Fox News the accuracy of how her conversations with former next-door neighbor Lynda LaCasse and former colleague Lorraine Sanchez were described and expressed her deep gratitude toward them for coming forward.

"I am touched that they would step forward knowing the targeted harassment I have received since I made my history with Joe Biden public. I appreciate their candor and bravery," Reade said in a statement.

https://i.imgur.com/TK2H6wAl.jpg

Earlier, a friend of Reade's claimed to have been told about the alleged assault at the time it happened but chose to remain anonymous, and her brother, Collin Moulton, recalled Reade describing an incident with Biden involving a "gym bag." The friend and Moulton both gave interviews to the Intercept.

LaCasse told Business Insider: "I remember her saying, here was this person that she was working for and she idolized him. And he kind of put her up against a wall. And he put his hand up her skirt and he put his fingers inside her. She felt like she was assaulted, and she really didn't feel there was anything she could do."

LaCasse said Reade was "upset" when she told her about the allegation and "the more she talked about it, the more she started crying." She said she remembered urging Reade to file a police report but did not recall specific details from the alleged incident, such as the location or remarks Biden allegedly made to Reade.

"I don't remember all the details," LaCasse told Business Insider. "I remember the skirt. I remember the fingers. I remember she was devastated."

LaCasse, a retired staffer of San Luis Obispo General Hospital, said she lived in the same apartment complex as Reade in Morro Bay, Calif. She recalled how the two of them had talked about "violent stories" they've experienced, which was when Reade told her "about the senator that she had worked for and he put his hand up her skirt."

"I personally am a Democrat, a very strong Democrat," LaCasse said. "I'm for Biden, regardless. But still, I have to come out and say this."

Reade's former neighbor said she "volunteered" to come forward, saying, "If this was me, I would want somebody to stand up for me. It takes a lot of guts to do what she's doing."

"I have to support her just because that's what happened," LaCasse continued. "We need to stand up and tell the truth."

Sanchez, who was working as a staffer for California State Senator Jack O'Connell, said she mentored and worked with Reade between 1994 and 1996.

Sanchez said she did not recall Reade referring to Biden by name but remembered "reassuring her that nothing like that would ever happen to her here in our office, that she was in a safe place, free from any sexual harassment."

"It takes great courage and strength to come forward," Sanchez said in praising Reade. "It's much easier to keep silent. However, I also understand the duty we have as women to share our story regardless of who the perpetrator may be."

Former Vice President Joe Biden had gone over a month without addressing the explosive sexual assault allegation made by his former Senate staffer Tara Reade, but he had quite a different tune during one of the Democratic debates earlier this year.

Back in February, during former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg's underwhelming run for president, the billionaire businessman was pummelled by his competitors over not releasing former female employees from their non-disclosure agreements (NDA).

And while Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., is remembered for her fierce line of attacks at the two debates with Bloomberg, Biden also squeezed in some punches of his own.

"Let's get something straight here. It's easy. All the mayor has to do is say, 'You are released from the non-disclosure agreement. Period," Biden said in an edited clip preserved on his Twitter account. "This is about transparency from the very beginning. Whether it's your health records, whether it's your taxes, whether you have cases against you, whether or not people have signed non-disclosure agreements."

His shaming of Bloomberg continued, "You think that women, in fact, were ready to say, 'I don't want anybody to know about what you did to me.' That's not how it works. The way it works is they say, 'Look, this is what you did to me' and the mayor comes along and his attorneys say, 'I will give you this amount of money if you promise you'll never say anything. That's how it works.

The tweet, which was made on February 20, also read, "Let me be clear: Mayor Bloomberg should release folks from their non-disclosure agreements. This is about transparency. The American people deserve to know the truth."
1230649585640574978
Biden has been criticized for lack of transparency. The presumptive Democratic nominee is set to break his silence on Friday.

There have also been growing calls for him to unseal his Senate records that are being held at the University of Delaware, where Reade believes her sexual harassment complaint she filed to the Senate personnel office is being held and further corroborate her claims.

However, the university says the records will remain sealed until at least two years after Biden leaves public life.

"I'm calling for the release of the documents being held by the University of Delaware that contain Biden's staff personnel records because I believe it will have my complaint form, as well as my separation letter and other documents," Reade has told Fox News. "Maybe if other staffers that have tried to file complaints would come to light -- why are they under seal? And why won't they be released to the public?"

The editorial board of The Washington Post joined that call, urging Biden on Wednesday to address the allegations and "release relevant records."

Biden is set to address the allegations for the first time on Friday. It is unknown if he will be asked whether he would be willing to unseal his Senate records.

His campaign has denied Reade's allegations.

An op-ed in the New York Times has called on the Democrats to go with a plan B, namely, dump former Vice President Joe Biden while they still can and run another candidate to take on President Trump in November due to the sexual assault allegation from Tara Reade.

Written by Elizabeth Bruenig, the piece fairly lays out both the pros and cons in Tara Reade’s accusation against Biden before concluding that Reade’s account is just too credible for the Democrats to ignore without seriously harming the agenda they set when Christine Blasey Ford accused Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh of sexual assault. Though the author doesn’t outright believe Tara Reade, she does admit that arguments against her credibility are shoddy at best.

“Ms. Reade’s account is not nearly as incredible as some have argued,” writes Bruenig. “In the course of my reporting, I have worked closely with many survivors of sexual assault. It isn’t unusual, in my experience, for survivors to exhibit behavior that seems unstable or erratic to others. They may initially disclose to investigators or journalists only a fragment of what happened, and then reveal more over time — some even falsely recant, either because they sense the police don’t believe them, or because they fear the consequences of pressing their claims. And victims often maintain relationships with their attackers or harbor mixed feelings about them.”

Scott Berkowitz, the founder and president of the Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network (RAINN), added that “it’s not at all uncommon for someone to still have positive feelings about aspects of the person who assaulted them, or to admire or respect them. With people who work for politicians, there’s usually a strong measure of loyalty or respect in that relationship. So it’s not indicative that someone wasn’t telling the truth.”

With that in mind, Bruenig gets to what’s really at stake for the Democrats if they continue to brush off Tara Reade: complete and total loss of the moral high ground.

“Conservatives, like my colleague Bret Stephens, can see the plain gulf between how Democrats have approached sexual assault in politically advantageous cases versus Ms. Reade’s, and the evident hypocrisy threatens to discredit the entire enterprise,” writes Bruenig.

Fearing this loss, other feminists have quickly changed their tune and come to the support of Tara Reade, such as Jessica Valenti and Rebecca Traister. Even the Planned Parenthood Action Fund has called for further investigation into the matter. However, even a thorough investigation, argues Bruenig, will not be enough to sway the doubt that already lingers in people’s minds. In the end, Biden will be a credibly accused candidate going up against President Trump in the general election; that just simply will not do the situation justice, according to her.

“It is also possible that this won’t just go away, and that it will demoralize voters and place Mr. Biden at a disadvantage against Mr. Trump in the general election, despite the fact that Mr. Trump has a damning list of accusers alleging sexual offenses,” writes Bruenig. “For a candidate mainly favored for his presumed electability and the perception of empathy and decency, that’s a serious liability.”

In order to “preserve the strides made on behalf of victims of sexual assault in the era of #MeToo” and give themselves the best chance of winning, the Democrat need to dump Biden, she concludes.

Four days after presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden made a public request for the secretary of the Senate to search through records from 1993 for a purported complaint by the woman accusing him of sexual assault, the official has made clear that nothing short of a change in the law can allow the public -- or anyone -- to access them.

Biden denies the alleged assault and has challenged whether the complaint Tara Reade says she filed even exists.

His call for records to be released was an apparent attempt to clear the air -- but the situation remains as murky as ever.

After Senate Secretary Julie Adams issued a statement Monday saying that "the Secretary has no discretion to disclose" the information or records that Biden asked for -- specifically a complaint the former Senate staffer says she filed with what at the time would have most likely been the Office of Fair Employment Practices -- she responded to further queries from Biden.

In short, she said she can't even confirm if the records exist, and not even those involved in original complaints from the time can see them.

"The Secretary's Office was advised by Senate Legal Counsel that disclosing the existence of such specific records would amount to a prohibited disclosure under the Government Employee Rights Act of 1991. Furthermore, we are not aware of any exceptions in law authorizing our office to disclose any such records that do exist, if any, even to original participants in a matter," the secretary's office said.

Further, the University of Delaware -- which has additional Senate records that Biden insists are irrelevant to the allegations at hand -- told Fox News on Tuesday that those files are closed to the public for now absent Biden's "express consent."
1257460464436592641
Adams, in her statement, was responding to questions from the Biden campaign on whether the mere existence of such records was allowed to be disclosed, if there is anyone to whom that existence could be lawfully disclosed and if it could release the processing procedures applying to such complaints.

The office did release the procedures in place for the Office of Fair Employment Practices in 1993, which said an employee would have had to first submit a request for counseling, complete it, and then pursue “mediation” before filing a formal complaint. That process, under the procedures, is confidential. The Associated Press reported that Reade said in an interview she “chickened out” on filing full harassment or assault allegations – but Reade later told Fox News that she filed some kind of “complaint.”

So the procedures leave unclear whether this document would exist.

The Office of Fair Employment Practices procedures also included strict confidentiality provisions, though, as Adams said, the Government Employee Rights Act of 1991 is the law preventing her from assisting Biden on his search for Reade's alleged complaint.

Adams has not denied that the complaint might exist or that it could be at the National Archives, as Biden has previously said. She has said that she legally would not be able to release the complaint or acknowledge its existence.

Senate Rules for Office of ... by Fox News on Scribd

This apparent brick wall in the search for records comes as the University of Delaware doubled down in a statement Tuesday on its refusal to make any information about Biden's senatorial papers, which are housed at the university, public without Biden's permission.

"Vice President Biden donated his Senatorial papers to the University of Delaware pursuant to an agreement that prohibits the University from providing public access to those papers until they have been properly processed and archived. The University is bound by, and will comply with, the agreement. Until the archival process is complete and the collection is opened to the public, access is only available with Vice President Biden's consent," a spokesperson for the school said.

"Vice President Biden and his designees have access, under supervision of staff from the Unversity's Special Collections unit, to materials during the process. No Biden designee has visited the collection since November 2019. No documents have been added or removed by any Biden designees during any visits," the statement continued. "The donor agreement is not a public document; this is standard university practice for all donor agreements."

The school also reiterated that because documents have not been digitized, "there is no systematic way to search the archive as has been suggested."

The school, however, confirmed to Fox News last week that it technically owns the documents. It has changed the terms of when it would release the papers to the public before.

The university initially said it expected to make the records “available to the public two years after Biden’s last day in elected public office.” In April 2019, just hours before Biden announced his current presidential bid, the university changed its timeline, and said the papers wouldn't be released until either Dec. 31, 2019 or until two years after Biden “retires from public life,” whichever comes later.

Biden, in an interview on MSNBC's "Morning Joe" on Friday, resisted calls from the show's hosts to provide access to the documents at the University of Delaware, saying they contained sensitive details of conversations he had with presidents, foreign leaders and other information that could unfairly be used as "fodder" against his presidential campaign.

Whether documents under the control of the University of Delaware and the U.S. Senate ever see the light of day or not, Biden continues to deny that he sexually assaulted Reade.

"No. It is not true. I’m saying unequivocally it never, never happened, and it didn’t. It never happened," Biden said in the "Morning Joe" interview.

He continued, addressing the alleged complaint, specifically.

"I’m confident there’s nothing," Biden said, before addressing his request for a search of Senate documents supposedly held by the National Archives. "If there is a complaint, that’s where it would be. That’s where it’d be filed, and if it’s there, put it out, but I’ve never seen it. No one has that I’m aware of."

Reade initially accused Biden of inappropriate touching last year, as several other women did. But she told a far more graphic version of her story in late March to The Intercept and to podcast host Katie Halper, which raised the level of the accusation to sexual assault.
1242691746561167360
Biden's campaign adamantly denied the allegation, as did former aides in his Senate office. He has also received general support from Democrats, particularly those who are possible vice presidential picks. But it took over a month for the candidate to address the allegation directly, which he did on Friday.

Reade, who was a supporter of Biden's opponent Bernie Sanders during the Democratic primary, has had several associates back her story, saying she told them about the alleged assault years ago. Additionally, last month a clip from "Larry King Live" in August 1993 resurfaced in which a woman, who Reade claims is her mother, speaks about problems her daughter had with a prominent senator, saying she has a story to tell but opted not to go to the press out of respect for her former boss.

The woman in the call does not mention Biden or sexual assault, but the timing fits with when Reade says she was forced out of her job following the alleged assault.

A local California newspaper reported on Thursday that court documents from 1996 show that Tara Reade, who had previously served as a staffer for then-Senator Joe Biden, told her ex-husband that in 1993 she was sexually harassed while working for Biden.

The Tribune reported that Reade’s then-husband Theodore Dronen made the following declaration in court while he was fighting against a restraining order that Reade filed against him after he filed for divorce:

I met Petitioner in the spring of 1993 while working in Washington, D.C. At the early stages of our dating, Petitioner felt comfortable confiding in me as we both worked for Members of Congress, and we shared many other common interests. On several occasions Petitioner related a problem that she was having at work regarding sexual harassment, in U.S. Senator Joe Biden’s office. Petitioner told me that she eventually struck a deal with the chief of staff of the Senator’s office and left her position. I was sympathetic to her needs when she asked me for help, and assisted her financially, and allowed her to stay at my apartment with my roommate while she looked for work. It was obvious that this event had a very traumatic effect on Petitioner, and that she is still sensitive and effected by it today.

The Tribune noted that it is important to point out that the statement from Reade’s then-husband does not state who the person was that was allegedly harassing Reade, just that it happened “in U.S. Senator Joe Biden’s office.”

Then-Biden chief of staff Ted Kaufman disputed Reade’s claims, telling The Tribune, “I have consistently said what is the truth here — that she never came to me. I do not remember her, and had she come to me in any of these circumstances, I would remember her. But I do not, because she did not.”

Reade’s sexual assault allegation against Biden, which she made in March of this, gained traction late last month when NewsBusters unearthed a 1993 video clip of Reade’s mother calling into CNN’s “Larry King Live” and saying that her daughter was having problems with a “prominent senator.”

Transcript:

LARRY KING: San Luis Obispo, California, hello.

CALLER: Yes, hello. I’m wondering what a staffer would do besides go to the press in Washington? My daughter has just left there, after working for a prominent senator, and could not get through with her problems at all, and the only thing she could have done was go to the press, and she chose not to do it out of respect for him.

KING: In other words, she had a story to tell but, out of respect for the person she worked for, she didn’t tell it?

CALLER: That’s true.

Since then, more people have come forward and said that Reade told them about the alleged incident.

During a podcast in March, Reade said, “It happened all at once…his hands were on me and underneath my clothes. Yeah, and he went down my skirt but then up inside it, and he penetrated me with his fingers, and he was kissing me at the same time, and he was saying something to me. He said several things. I can’t remember everything he said.”

Joe Biden faced a swift backlash on Friday for suggesting during a contentious radio interview with host Charlamagne tha God that those having a hard time "figuring out" whether to support him or President Trump "ain't black."

The dustup occurred 17 minutes into the former vice president's interview on “The Breakfast Club” – a nationally broadcast morning talk show popular with black listeners – when a Biden aide tried to end the interview, prompting the host to charge, “You can’t do that to black media.”

The presumptive Democratic presidential nominee stressed that his wife had an upcoming engagement, and suggested he would have to go whether dealing with “white media” or “black media.”

“Uh, oh ... I’m in trouble,” he joked as he referred to making his wife late. Biden and his wife Jill Biden share the same studio in the basement of their home in Wilmington, Del.

After Charlamagne tha God, who is black, then asked Biden to come back on the program again and the former vice president agreed, the host added, “It’s a long way to November. We’ve got more questions.”

That’s when Biden dove into a rapid-fire defense of his record with the black community.

“I tell you if you’ve got a problem figuring out if you’re for me or for Trump, then you ain’t black,” he said.

It's unclear whether Biden meant to refer only to the host or to the black community as a whole.

Charlamagne tha God responded that "it has nothing to do with Trump. It has to do with the fact that I want something for my community.”

Biden fired back, “Take a look at my record. I extended the Voting Rights Act for 25 years. I have a record that is second to none. The NAACP’s endorsed me every time I’ve run. Take a look at the record.”

After the friction, the interview – which was pre-taped on Thursday – ended on a mutually positive note with Biden again agreeing that he “will come back."

But the "You ain't black" moment reverberated on social media, with the host retweeting a variety of listeners complaining about it. Biden "should never say to a black man 'You aint black' under ANY circumstances," one wrote.

"The Breakfast Club" put the question to listeners on whether they agree with Biden:
1263800545321586688
President Trump's campaign, meanwhile, quickly highlighted the clip, tweeting, “This is disgusting.”
1263809957515988997
Trump senior adviser Katrina Pierson called the remarks "racist and dehumanizing," saying Biden believes black voters are "incapable of being independent or free thinking."

She added: "He truly believes that he, a 77-year-old white man, should dictate how Black people should behave. Biden has a history of racial condescension and today he once again proved what a growing number of Black Americans and I have always known: Joe Biden does not deserve our votes."

Trump campaign communications director Tim Murtaugh spotlighted a quote from Kanye West, a prominent African-American supporter of the president, saying, “I will not be told who I’m gonna vote on because of my color.”
1263806575564787717
Biden nevertheless has enjoyed widespread support among black voters, not just in general election polls – Fox News polling shows black voters favor Biden over Trump by 76-12 percent – but during the primary battle. His victory in the South Carolina primary, boosted by black voters' support, helped revive his then-struggling campaign and catapult him toward a dominating performance on Super Tuesday.

Meanwhile, this is not the first time a 2020 contender has questioned the party affiliation of a particular race or religion. Last year, President Trump faced a backlash for saying American Jews who support Democrats show “either a total lack of knowledge or great disloyalty.”

He was pointing to anyone supporting Reps. Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib, both critics of Israel.

Was actually super curious what Biden supporters were chatting about online the other day so I tried to have a look around.... it turned out about how you'd expect

Went to reddit first because it's most familiar to me. For perspective, Bernie Sander's largest subreddit has (had?) over half a million followers, Trump's largest has more, around 800,000... Biden's largest sub: 89,000.

Obviously that's just reddit which I'd wager is largely the white male age 25-35 demographic, but reddit is now the 19th ranked website on the internet and 55% American, so it's at least interesting to see the difference in support between candidates.

Former Vice President Joe Biden claimed Thursday that "10 to 15 percent" of Americans are "just not very good people."

As first reported by The New York Times, Biden held a virtual town hall on Thursday evening with black supporters where he knocked President Trump's divisiveness and weak leadership.

“The words a president says matter, so when a president stands up and divides people all the time, you’re gonna the worst of us to come out,” Biden told actor Don Cheadle, who was moderating the virtual town hall.

“Do we really think this is as good as we can be as a nation? I don’t think the vast majority of people think that," Biden continued. "There are probably anywhere from 10 to 15 percent of the people out there who are just not very good people, but that’s not who we are. The vast majority of the people are decent. We have to appeal to that and we have to unite people -- bring them together. Bring them together.”

It is unclear who exactly he was referring to within the "10 to 15 percent" of people and whether or not he believes they support President Trump.

The remarks harken back to the controversial comments made by former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton during the 2016 presidential election when, at a campaign event, she estimated that "half" of Trump's supporters belong in a "basket of deplorables."

While Biden received praised earlier this week for his address following the May 25 death of Minneapolis man George Floyd while in police custody, the presumptive Democratic nominee previously landed himself in hot water during a recent interview on "The Breakfast Club." During the show, he told radio host Charlamagne tha God "you ain't black" if any black voter is still undecided between supporting him or President Trump. He later walked those comments back, saying he shouldn't have sounded so "cavalier" and acted like a "wise guy."

However, in multiple interviews since then, Biden appeared to cast blame for the remarks on Charlamagne tha God, insisting the host was also acting like a "wise guy" and later claimed he was "baiting" him, which prompted the offensive remark.

Charlamagne tha God shot back Wednesday night, telling Stephen Colbert "I didn't bait" Biden and that he "volunteered that fish" on his own.

A new national poll indicates that President Trump’s approval rating is dropping and that he trails Democratic challenger Joe Biden by double digits if November’s presidential election were held today.

According to a CNN survey released on Monday, the president’s approval rating stands at 38 percent, a dive of 7 percentage points from CNN’s previous poll, which was conducted in early May. And Trump’s disapproval rating jumped from 51 percent month ago to 57 percent now.

And the poll shows the former vice president and presumptive Democratic nominee topping the GOP incumbent in the White House by 14 points -- 55 to 41 percent. That’s nearly triple the 5-point margin – 51-46 percent – Biden led by a month ago in CNN polling.

The president, who rarely misses an opportunity to blast a poll that he doesn’t like, took to Twitter soon after the survey’s release to charge that “CNN Polls are as Fake as their Reporting.”

The 14-point lead for Biden in the new CNN survey is double the 7-point advantage for the former vice president over Trump in an NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll released on Sunday. An average of the last national general election matchup polls compiled by RealClearPolitics indicates Biden on top by 7.8 percent over the president.

The CNN poll was conducted Tuesday through Friday – which means it questioned voters nearly entirely before Friday’s stunning unemployment report, which indicated 2.5 million jobs were created last month and that the nation’s jobless level had dropped. The numbers were boosted by states reopening their economies after being mostly shut in late March and April in order to limit the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.

The positive numbers were unexpected, as most economists had predicted the rate would continue to rise due to a net loss in jobs.

The CNN poll was conducted amid nationwide unrest sparked by the death two weeks ago of George Floyd in police custody. The 46-year old black man died after a white Minneapolis police officer put his knee on the handcuffed Floyd's neck for nearly nine minutes. Floyd’s death and the resulting peaceful protests -- as well as violent clashes and rioting in cities across the country -- quickly pushed longstanding concerns over police brutality against minorities and the broader issue of the country’s history of systemic racism firmly back into the national spotlight.

Forty-two percent of people questioned in the poll say that race relations are extremely important to their vote in November, slightly higher than the 40 percent who said the economy, 39 percent who said health care, and 31 percent who said the coronavirus outbreak.

By a more than two-to-one margin – 63-31 percent – voters say they think Biden would better handle race relations than the president. And the former vice president topped Trump by 14 points on handling the coronavirus and on leading the country during times of crisis. The president had a 5-point advantage over Biden on handling the economy.

The CNN poll was conducted by SSRS June 2-5, with 1,259 people nationwide questioned by live telephone operators. The survey’s overall sampling error is plus or minus 3.4 percentage points.

Joe Biden, the Democrats’ presumptive 2020 presidential nominee, told “The Daily Show” Wednesday that he expects President Donald Trump to try to “steal” the presidential election and expressed hope that the United States military would remove Donald Trump from the White House if he refused to vacate.

Echoing conspiracy theorists, including failed 2016 presidential contender Hillary Clinton, Biden explained vague comments he’d made previously, telling “Daily Show” host Trevor Noah that he believes Trump will not accept a loss at the ballot box and that the president will try to create chaos around the election.

“This president’s going to try to steal this election,” Biden said.

The answer was in reference to the Georgia primary, held Tuesday, which turned into an unqualified disaster after confused voters submitted mail-in ballots and precincts were reordered and moved.

“This is a guy who said that all mail-in ballots are fraudulent, voting by mail, while he sits behind the desk in the Oval Office and writes his mail-in ballot to vote in the primary,” Biden added.

Support for voting via absentee ballot is, of course, different from supporting a fully mail-in election, and even Twitter, which fact-checked the president’s claims of vote fraud stemming from mail-in elections, admitted that there are problems with vote-by-mail programs. The president and other Republican officials have expressed concerns that Democrats are looking to sow confusion and manipulate November’s election results by pressing for a fully mail-in vote.

Biden and others, like Clinton, have previously expressed concern that President Trump may try to “move” the November elections over fears of a second wave of coronavirus infections. Since the presidential election date is set by Federal law as the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November, such a move would require an act of Congress — a Congress that is none too friendly to the president.

Biden did express hope, though, that if Trump resisted an unfavorable election outcome that the United States military would conspire to forcibly eject him from the White House.

“You have four chiefs of staff coming out and ripping the skin off of Trump, and so many rank-and-file military personnel saying, ‘Whoa, we’re not a military state. This is not who we are,’” Biden said. “I promise you, I’m absolutely convinced they will escort him from the White House with great dispatch.”

There is no indication that Trump would refuse to accept election results declaring Biden the winner. White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany went further on Fox News Thursday morning, calling Biden a conspiracy theorist.

“This president is looking forward to November. This president is hard at work for the American people,” she said. “And leave it to Democrats to grandstand and level these conspiracy theories.”

Joe Biden, the Democrats’ presumptive pick for their 2020 presidential contender, is already on thin ice with anti-racism activists after resisting the push to embrace calls to “defund” and disband police departments, but now Black Lives Matter is concerned Biden may be about to select an ex-cop as his running mate.

Among Biden’s top picks is Rep. Val Demings (D-FL), a two-term Florida Congresswoman best known for being one of several legislators selected to lead the House team prosecuting President Donald Trump’s Senate impeachment trial, and she has reportedly made it to the second round of vetting, per the New York Post.

“But Demings’ 27 years in the Orlando Police Department, where she rose from beat cop to first female chief, are complicating things,” the outlet reports.

Demings rose from beat cop to chief of police in Orlando, Florida, over the course of two decades, but in the four years she was the Orlando Police Department’s top administrator she “was frequently embroiled in excessive-force controversies, and she repeatedly defended the actions of officers.”

That’s a big problem for organizations like Black Lives Matter, who are currently at the forefront of American politics and setting the terms of the national conversation on race relations and law enforcement, particularly on the left and among Democrats.

“Joe Biden would be an idiot to put her on his ticket. People are already on the fence about him,” Hawk Newsome, chairman of Black Lives Matter, Greater New York chapter, told media. “When black people become police officers, they are no longer black. They are blue. And I have been told this by numerous officers.”

On at least two occasions, Demings’ officers slammed a suspect so hard they sustained permanent physical damage, and, the Post says, an in-depth, independent review of the Orlando Police Department found that “rogue cops operate with impunity, and there’s nothing anybody who finds himself at the wrong end of their short fuse can do about it.”

Demings has defended her record.

“Looking for a negative story in a police department is like looking for a prayer at church,” Demings wrote in an op-ed for the Orlando Sentinel. “I believe a reasonable person also understands that a few seconds (even on video) rarely capture the entire set of circumstances.”

That may be a reasonable approach to questions about the use of force, but it’s unlikely to satisfy activists looking for a quick, acceptable response on race relations. And her logic may imperil her chance to be Biden’s running mate, even though her lack of name recognition and national presence would give Biden’s team the opportunity to approach the campaign with less baggage than if they selected a more openly divisive candidate, like Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) or Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams.

Sen. Amy Klobuchar announced Thursday she was removing herself as a candidate to be former Vice President Joe Biden’s vice presidential pick.

Klobuchar told MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell she called Biden Wednesday evening with her decision, saying she believes “this is a moment to put a woman of color on that ticket."

Biden pledged earlier this year to pick a woman to be his running mate as is currently considering about a half dozen candidates, including several women of color.

“After what I’ve seen in my state and what I’ve seen across the country, this is a historic moment and America must seize on this moment,” she said. “There are so many incredibly qualified women. But if you want to heal this nation right now -- my party, yes, but our nation -- this sure is a hell of a way to do it. And that’s just what I think after being through this in my state."

The police custody death of George Floyd last month, a black man who died after a white officer kneeled on his neck for nearly nine minutes in Minneapolis, had already complicated Klobuchar’s case to be Biden’s pick as her record as a Minnesota prosecutor came under new scrutiny. Her record of not bringing charges against officers involved in alleged cases of police brutality against black men espeically became a liability, according to The New York Times.

Klobuchar dropped out of the Democratic primary shortly before Super Tuesday and immediately endorsed Biden.

With Klobuchar out of the running for VP, Biden is still reportedly considering Sen. Elizabeth Warren, Sen. Kamala Harris, former national security adviser Susan Rice, Florida Rep. Val Demings, Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms and New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham.

He said he plans to announce his running mate by August 1.

Shortly after Klobuchar made her announcement Biden reacted on Twitter.

"Amy — from the moment you announced you were running for president in a snowstorm, it wasn't hard to see you had the grit and determination to do anything you set your mind to," Biden said. "You know how to get things done. With your help, we’re going to beat Donald Trump."

Sen. Tammy Duckworth, D-Ill., is among the shortlist of political figures that presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden is rumored to be considering as a running mate, but she balked when asked about a sensitive subject that has been on the forefront of political discourse.

Appearing on CNN’s “State of the Union” Sunday morning, Duckworth was asked about recent calls to remove monuments commemorating American founding fathers like Presidents George Washington and Thomas Jefferson because they were slave owners.

Rather than answer directly, Duckworth first changed the subject, then made inaccurate references to President Trump’s speech at Mount Rushmore on Friday evening.

“Well let me just say that we should start off by having a national dialogue on it at some point, but right now we’re in the middle of a global pandemic … and one the countries who are opposed to us, Russia, has put a bounty on American troops’ heads," she said. "What really struck me about the speech that the president gave at Mount Rushmore was that he spent more time worried about honoring dead Confederates than he did talking about the lives of 130,000 Americans who lost their lives to COVID-19 or by warning Russia off the bounty they’re putting on Americans’ heads.”
1279787494515621888
At no point in Trump’s speech did he show respect to or even mention the Confederacy or its leaders. In fact, the only times he referenced the Civil War was in the context of Union victory and honoring President Abraham Lincoln. He also celebrated the memories of Washington and Jefferson, noting – as CNN’s Dana Bash did – that there are those who seek to eliminate monuments to their memories.

After Duckworth made another allusion to the Confederacy by accusing Trump of honoring “dead traitors,” Bash noted that Washington is not a traitor and that there are people who want to remove statues of him.

“Is that a good idea?” Bash asked.

Duckworth again did not answer but did say she was willing to hear from those who do want to take down statues of the first president.

“I think we should listen to everybody,” she said. “I think we should listen to the argument there.”

West has become more political in recent years and has repeatedly met with President Donald Trump.

“A Kanye presidential run has been teased for years,” Politico reported. “He and Kardashian West have worked with Trump on several occasions, including on commuting the sentences of individuals convicted of nonviolent offenses.”

Last year, West repeatedly praised the Republican Party for ending slavery, saying at a church service, “Abraham Lincoln was the Whig Party, that’s the Republican Party that freed the slaves.”

“That’s the Republican Party that freed the slaves,” West continued.

West told GQ Magazine earlier this year that he is definitely voting in the 2020 election.

“And we know who I’m voting on,” West said. “And I’m not going to be told by the people around me and the people that have their agenda that my career is going to be over. Because guess what: I’m still here!”

“Black people are controlled by emotions through the media,” West continued. “The media puts musicians, artists, celebrities, actors in a position to be the face of the race, that really don’t have any power and really are just working for white people. When it’s said like that, it’s kind of obvious, right? We emotionally connect to someone of our color on TV and feel that this person is speaking for us. So let me say this: I am the founder of a $4 billion organization, one of the most Google-searched brands on the planet, and I will not be told who I’m gonna vote on because of my color.”

“Both my parents were freedom fighters, and they used to drink from fountains they were told they couldn’t drink from, and they used to sit in restaurants where they were told they couldn’t eat from,” West said. “They didn’t fight for me to be told by white people which white person I can vote on.”

Kanye West has dropped his 2020 presidential bid, according to a new report.

The 43-year-old rapper's campaign has reportedly been suspended less than two weeks after he shocked the nation with a tweet that confirmed his decision to run for president of the United States in November.

According to a new report from Intelligencer, a "get-out-the-vote specialist" named Steve Kramer claims West is already "out" after the Yeezy founder hired both "paid and volunteer" staff to help him secure signatures in Florida and South Carolina to get him on the ballot.

Kramer claimed West's team was "working over weekend there, formalizing the FEC and other things that they’ve got to do when you have a lot of corporate lawyers involved.”

The specialist claimed there was "overwhelming support" to get West on the ballot.

A separate source, who remained anonymous, claimed to the outlet that they were hired for $5,000 to help West gather signatures in Florida to meet the state's July 15 ballot deadline. The outlet claimed he needed "132,781 valid signatures from Florida voters in less than a week."

Intelligencer writer Ben Jacobs wrote on Tuesday that he reached out to West's publicist for confirmation on his recent efforts, when the musician's team suddenly "went dark."

"As I waited for a response, I followed up with Kramer who told me, 'He's out,'" Jacobs claimed.

https://i.imgur.com/FrzyVtpl.jpg

Kramer told the outlet that staff were "disappointed" that West has allegedly suspended his efforts. He also claimed to have "nothing good or bad to say about Kanye."

"Everyone has their personal decision about why they make decisions. Running for president has to be one of the hardest things for someone to actually contemplate at that level,” Kramer added.

West initially shared his dreams of being the third candidate to run against President Donald Trump and Joe Biden in a tweet on the Fourth of July.

"We must now realize the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision and building our future. I am running for president of the United States ! #2020VISION," he said.

Days later, West conducted a lengthy interview with Forbes in which he declared he no longer supported Trump and said that Biden was not "special."

West's presidential dreams also sparked some debate after the rapper took to Twitter to share his pro-life stance, leading to a clash with Planned Parenthood. But West did continue to squash the doubt surrounding his decision, as he posted a video documenting him registering to vote in Wyoming to his Twitter account, which boasts nearly 30 million followers.

Reps for West did not immediately respond to Fox News' request for comment.

Kanye West kicked off his first presidential campaign event in North Charleston, South Carolina, Sunday evening, a day before the state's deadline to file signatures as an independent candidate.

The rapper appeared shortly after 5 p.m. at the Exquis Event Center rally with the numbers "2020" in his hair.

West invited a couple of young women from the audience to speak on stage about issues that concerned them, such as education inequity and police brutality. He then launched into a speech that touched on a wide range of topics, from his battle with opioids to his business dealings with Adidas, before elaborating on his pro-life stance.

He broke into tears talking about what he said was his father's desire to abort him, and his wife having their first child "even when I didn't want to."

"I almost killed my daughter. I love my daughter. … God wants us to create," said West, who has four children with Kim Kardashian West.

"No more Plan B -- Plan A," he said, to a mixed response from the audience.

West clarified that he thinks abortion should be legal, but that there should be more support for those who need it.

"The maximum increase would be everybody that has a baby gets a million dollars or something in that range," said West.

West also said that marijuana "should be free" and took questions from the audience before the hour-long event ended.

South Carolina requires 10,000 signatures to get on the presidential ballot as an independent candidate. Due to a state of emergency resulting from the coronavirus pandemic, the state's deadline for submitting signatures was moved back from last Wednesday to Monday, July 20, clearing the way for West's Sunday event.

On Saturday, West had tweeted for supporters to "please sign up to put me on the ballot in South Carolina." The state does not allow write-in candidates on the ballot.
1284599234088427520
All attendees at West's North Charleston event were asked to sign a COVID-19 liability release form, and to social distance and wear a mask.

A week after an adviser to his campaign reportedly told a media outlet that West was going to drop out of the race, a source with knowledge of West's presidential bid told ABC News that the campaign is now working in multiple states to gather signatures, and that the two-week-old campaign is "maturing and growing."

According to the source, the team will be announcing several more campaign events, including one in New York.

https://i.imgur.com/bl7yytEl.jpg

Last week, West paid the $35,000 registration fee to get on the ballot in Oklahoma. He will need several more states to be able to reach the 270 electoral votes necessary to win the presidency. There are currently only 306 electoral votes up for grabs in states where the filing deadlines have yet to pass.

Bre Maxwell, a Democratic operative in South Carolina, told ABC News that West's bid for president may ignite people like West, 43, who registered to vote for the first time earlier this month, to vote this election.
1281335738827710466
"He may not even take away from Joe Biden, but I think what Kanye will probably be able to do is ignite a voting bloc that probably wasn't going to vote for Joe Biden -- the young black millennial who doesn't care about politics or who's not involved in politics but they are involved with music."

https://i.imgur.com/ytQp4l9l.jpg

But Maxwell said West's bid for president concerns her because she feels that the focus should be on rallying behind Biden, the presumptive Democratic nominee, and on supporting Democratic candidates lower down on the ballot.

"We need all the votes out of people we can get to support Joe Biden," Maxwell said. "We've got to get rid of Donald Trump and his administration. We've got to flip the Senate. We've got to keep the House, because that's the only way we're going to be able to make sure America is great."

During his interview with Chris Wallace last week, President Trump questioned whether the Democrats' presumptive presidential nominee, Joe Biden, could handle the barrage of questioning that Wallace posed to Trump.

The answer to that question – at least for now – we may never know.

Wallace on Sunday informed viewers that the Biden campaign told Fox News he was “not available” for an interview.

"In our interview last week with President Trump, he questioned whether his Democratic opponent, Joe Biden, could handle a similar encounter,” Wallace said. “This week, we asked the Biden campaign for an interview and they said the former vice president was not available.”

He added, “We’ll keep asking every week.”

The Trump campaign has hit Biden for months for abstaining from holding rallies and news conferences while continuing to do interviews amid the coronavirus pandemic. While Biden recently has returned to the stump, Trump and his allies continued to mock the former vice president for “hiding” in his home in Delaware.

Biden’s reticence to do public events, however, has done little to hurt his candidacy as the latest polls had Biden comfortably ahead of Trump both nationally and in key battleground states.

Real Clear Politics averages indicated the president was down 7 points in Florida, 6.7 points in Pennsylvania, 8.2 points in Michigan and 6.4 points in Wisconsin. Trump narrowly won all four states in 2016, flipping them from blue to red as he won the White House.

The latest Fox News Polls put Biden ahead in Minnesota, Michigan and Pennsylvania, with leads all outside the margin of error.

Polling also suggested Biden had a slight edge in Ohio, North Carolina and Arizona, three other important swing states this cycle. And, surveys indicated that once reliably red states such as Texas and Georgia were all knotted up between Trump and the former vice president.

Presidential elections in which an incumbent is running for a second term in the White House are often a referendum on that president – and that’s seen as being the case right now in the 2020 showdown between Trump and Biden. The top issues have been the coronavirus and an economy flattened by the pandemic – and the president’s performance and record on both issues.

He really gave it to Trump. Biden should step up.

I suspect though, that the democrat strategy is to let Trump self-destruct. Rather than offer policy or anything moving forward their platform will be "not Trump"... They'll keep Biden away from the camera as much as possible

It's not a good look. Like you said, Wallace didn't hold back on the questions fro Trump, so the Biden campaign can't say that it won't be "fair" because FOX News is soft on Trump. He needs to show he's cognizant of everything going on. Especially non-scripted and unedited, unlike all his releases that he does now from his basement.

And aside from going on about his cognitive ( a point already made) I thought Trump was in pretty good form overall. I watched the whole thing

Presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden told reporters he did not know where he was before a speech Tuesday in Wilmington, Del.

"Good afternoon everyone. Welcome to Kingswood Community Center," Biden said, before freezing for a few seconds. "Actually, that's the one down where I used to work. That's a joke. I didn't know where we were."

After appearing to refer to notes, he correctly identified the location as the William "Hicks" Anderson Community Center. Biden, 77, said the late Anderson, whose name he had just forgotten, was a friend of his.

The former vice president has frequently taken flak from President Donald Trump and his allies for seeming to suffer from cognitive decline. Trump has faced questions from reporters about his own mental stability, and he responded by touting his performance on a cognitive test.

Biden took questions from reporters following the speech, after his campaign came under fire for previously restricting press access to the candidate.

Fox News Sunday anchor Chris Wallace criticized Biden for refusing an interview opportunity after Trump sat down for an interview with Wallace.

"You can like [the president's] answers or dislike them but he had answers and Joe Biden hasn’t faced that kind of scrutiny, hasn’t faced that kind of exposure," Wallace said.

Presumptive 2020 Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden stumbled badly during an interview Tuesday when his interviewer asked if he has taken a cognitive test.

During just a minute-long video clip, after being asked if he has taken a cognitive test like President Trump has, Biden confused and stumbled over words, misspoke, and stuttered badly during his incredulous reply, attempting to explain that he has not taken such a test and does not need to.
1291023650855034880
Biden replied to the initial question:

"No, I haven't taken a test. Why the hell would I take a test? C'mon man! That's like saying you, before you got in this program, if you take a test where you're taking cocaine or not, what do you think huh? Are you a junkie?"

Biden then laughed as his interviewer asked the next question, querying the former vice president about what he would say to President Trump, who "makes your mental state an issue for voters."

Biden said:

"Well, if he can't figure out the different between an elephant and a lion, I don't know what the h*ll he's talking about. Did you watch that — look, c'mon man. I know you're trying to goad me, but, I mean, I'm so forward looking to have an opportunity to sit with the president or stand with the president in debates. There's going to be plenty of time. And by the way, as I joke with him, you know — I, I shouldn't say it. I'm gonna say something I don't — I probably shouldn't say. Anyway, I am, uh, I am very willing to let the American public judge my physical and mental fil — my physical as well as my mental fil — fitness."

The former vice president struggled badly to get the final sentence out.

The idea that Biden is suffering from mental decline at his advanced age continues to be one of his campaign's major risk factors leading up to the 2020 election as gaffes such as these continue to pile up.

Presumptive Democrat presidential nominee Joe Biden claimed late on Thursday that he did not “mean” to make remarks that were widely panned as “racist” about black people, despite the fact that he doubled down on the remarks in separate interviews.

“Earlier today, I made some comments about diversity in the African American and Latino communities that I want to clarify. In no way did I mean to suggest the African American community is a monolith—not by identity, not on issues, not at all,” Biden claimed. “Throughout my career I’ve witnessed the diversity of thought, background, and sentiment within the African American community. It’s this diversity that makes our workplaces, communities, and country a better place.”

“My commitment to you is this: I will always listen, I will never stop fighting for the African American community and I will never stop fighting for a more equitable future,” Biden concluded.

During an interview released early Thursday morning, Biden said, “What you all know, but most people don’t know, unlike the African American community, with notable exceptions, the Latino community is an incredibly diverse community with incredibly different attitudes about different things.”

Later in the day, Biden doubled down on his remarks, telling a Latino group, “Now what I mean full diversity, unlike the African American community and many other communities, you’re from everywhere. You’re from Europe, from the tip of South America, all the way to our border in Mexico, and the Caribbean. And different backgrounds, different ethnicities, but all Latinos. We’re gonna get a chance to do that if we win in November.”

Biden also made remarks that some suggested were racist earlier this week when he used the word “junkie” during an interview with a black journalist. Biden also recently told a black host that if the host did not vote for him, “then you ain’t black.”

Biden’s remarks were widely deemed to be racist by notable figures across the political spectrum.

Fox News analyst Gianno Caldwell wrote, “The pass Dems continue to give Joe Biden on the racist things he say is insane. Are they for racists or against them.”
1291201555400724483
Trump campaign senior adviser Katrina Pierson wrote: “I would like to note the racist undertones of Joe ‘racial jungle’ Biden accusing a black man of being a junkie! This is what he thinks of Black people who are not ‘clean and articulate’.”
1291013820245303302
Democrat and former CIA officer Bryan Dean Wright wrote: “One Biden racial slip might be forgivable. But a lifetime of ‘slips’ — like saying black people aren’t black if they vote for Republicans, or are cocaine junkies if they dare challenge a Democrat — means there is an ugly pattern. Joe Biden is a racist and a bigot.”
1291543073890025473
Leftist Tariq Nasheed wrote: “When suspected white supremacists get older, they lose their ability to filter their thoughts. So they express their real racist views.”

Interesting angle...but "they would only go after him" were Biden/traitors allowed to steal the election, in fact its a guarantee that they would craft any number of things just like they did in 2016. Part of what's curious about the comment of "The more you investigate Trump the more his friends & compatriots get arrested and jailed" is that this is pretty much also fake news. I still see people on the left talking about wull, Flynn was guilty, and Papadapolous was guilty, and Roger Stone, who doesnt really have anything to do with trump...I mean, the only one you've really got was Acosta, and Trump put him there on purpose for that exact reason that it was going to highlight Epstein.

I dont consider you a traitor, and you dont really appear to share my political beliefs ;) It just so happens to be that the majority of traitors happen to be Democrats and or left leaning - at this point in time ;) Mainly because most of the republican traitors are gone, e.g. people like McCain or Romney or lessers like Paul Ryan. I dont say they are traitors because I disagree with them politically - I say they are traitors because they have done things that constitute treason or sedition. They Mayor of Seattle allowing what she did there, that is seditious.

I do apologize for hitting you with too much information when things like this happen, its just that I have so much in my bag to choose from, its very easy to ammodump. (/ammodumps :slap: )

Dismissing everything that the MSM disagrees with as CT is rather closed minded, though. Obama, Biden, Comey, Clapper, did in fact unlawfully use the intelligence services of the USA and did so in collusion with foreign entities, and this constitutes treason. That there's so much else that's going on merely serves to distract from this main point here - they abused their positions, did unlawful things, committed treason, and they will pay for it.

General Flynn is a VERY key figure in all of this. If you remember nothing else of this, remember that point.

As to Corporate America selling out for greater profit, that was entirely by design. Every single corporation you see spouting wokeshit has an executive staff and board of directors that are traitorous (granted, there's no patriotism requirement there). Keep in mind also it simply became that for certain things, one's bottom line could be severely affected by not getting cheap chinese crap - that's entirely the reason traitors in gov used their regulatory authority to help shut down and prevent manufacturing industry here, thus ordering foreign became a matter of culture.

The pivot to china was almost entirely at the expense of the USA...

Shocking remarks made by the Federal Elections Commission Commissioner Ellen Weintraub on Monday confirmed many Americans’ fears about mail-in ballots: the winner likely won’t be declared on election night — and she said “this is okay” that we may have delayed results.

Weintraub dismissed the President’s concerns about mail-in voting, despite previous issues and indictments surrounding voter fraud with this form of voting.

Her admission about not knowing results — especially the Presidency and other races “that are important to people” — should come as a concern to voters.

She did not provide a deadline for when results would be known.

The Commissioner also warned Americans against believing everything they read on the internet and to be vigilant of the content they share and to know that it could be false information produced by Russian or other foreign actors.

but yeah this was how our last 2 governors got seated in CT...

Some progressives expressed their frustration and condemnation of Joe Biden's selection of Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., as his running mate.

Ever since Biden became the presumptive Democratic nominee, there has been an ongoing debate on the left as to who he could pick as his vice president that can motivate enough of the base, including supporters of Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., to support the ticket in November.

On Tuesday, Biden announced that Harris would be his vice president.

Sanders himself extended his support for his Senate colleague and former 2020 rival.

"Congratulations to @KamalaHarris, who will make history as our next Vice President. She understands what it takes to stand up for working people, fight for health care for all, and take down the most corrupt administration in history. Let’s get to work and win," the Vermont senator tweeted.
1293290750982139905
However, several Bernie supporters and other progressive journalists slammed the Biden-Harris ticket.

Briahna Joy Gray, who previously served as Sanders' national press secretary and has been an outspoken critic of Biden since her former boss withdrew from the race, invoked Harris' tenure as the California attorney general.

"We are in the midst of the largest protest movement in American history, the subject of which is excessive policing, and the Democratic Party chose a “top cop” and the author of the Joe Biden crime bill to save us from Trump. The contempt for the base is, wow," Gray reacted.
1293286212699136006
Left-leaning journalist Michael Tracey called Biden's selection a "nightmarishly bad pick in every way."

"Kamala's presidential campaign was a total humiliating disaster. One of the worst of all time, considering the amount of unearned hype she received. Did everybody miss that, or what?" Tracey asked.
1293283791855902720
"Well, there you have it. @JoeBiden gives the middle finger to progressives, #BlackLivesMatter protesters, and black voters under the age of 50," Status Coup co-founder Jordan Chariton tweeted.
1293280983127658502
"Crime bill author Joe Biden selects 'top cop' Kamala Harris for VP as racial justice and police abolition protests continue across the country," progressive journalist Walker Bragman wrote.
1293282325346779138
"Apparently the answer to a movement for black lives is someone who helped perpetuate a lock em up regime while letting the powerful in Silicon Valley and Wall Streeters like Steve Mnuchin loot with impunity. Happy 2020," The Hill's Krystal Ball wrote.
1293281978398121984
"Biden going with the strategically brilliant move of picking somebody for VP who is despised by both the right and the left," progressive commentator Kyle Kulinski quipped.
1293282932577177607
"This is when everyone who either said they would never vote for Bernie in the general or argued that he could never win bc he's a socialist Jew will attack anyone criticizing Harris for strategic or moral reasons as handing the election to Trump," podcast host Katie Halper tweeted.
1293297817566556162
The Young Turks founder Cenk Uygur vowed to help the Biden-Harris ticket to defeat Trump in November, but also vowed to lead a primary against "whichever one of them runs in 2024."

"It’s inconceivable they will govern as progressives & we’re not going to take this for 8 years, Uygur wrote. "For now, they’re infinitely better than Trump."

Uygur also touted its prediction that the Democratic "establishment" wanted Harris as president all along.

"Two years ago we said on @TheYoungTurks that the establishment wanted @SenKamalaHarris as president. Here we are. She's batter up," the progressive host said. "Whether she ran a good campaign, the voters wanted her or not, the establishment in this system almost always gets what they want. The band plays on."

Harris is the first Black woman on a major political party’s presidential ticket. The Biden campaign said Biden and Harris will deliver remarks together on Wednesday in Wilmington, Del.

"I’ve decided that Kamala Harris is the best person to help me take this fight to Donald Trump and Mike Pence and then to lead this nation starting in January 2021," Biden said in an email to supporters.

Biden also tweeted: "I have the great honor to announce that I’ve picked @KamalaHarris — a fearless fighter for the little guy, and one of the country’s finest public servants — as my running mate."

He added: "Back when Kamala was Attorney General, she worked closely with [Biden's son] Beau. I watched as they took on the big banks, lifted up working people, and protected women and kids from abuse. I was proud then, and I'm proud now to have her as my partner in this campaign."

On Tuesday, radio host Hugh Hewitt conducted an interview with President Trump and asked him about prospective debates with former Vice President Joe Biden. “You know the way it is, the fake news,” Trump said. “If he stands up, and if he is able to breathe, and if he’s able to walk off the platform, they’ll say it was one of the greatest debate performances in history.”

Hewitt prompted Trump by asserting, “The expectations of the vice president are being lowered by the hour. I think if he just stands up for an hour, that will lead the media to declare him a winner. I appreciate that you nominated me to be a moderator. I don’t think the debate commission will give you anyone remotely close to being as tough on Biden as they are on you. Do you think they’re lowering expectations for Joe Biden for the debates?”

Trump answered, “Well, I’m not lowering expectations. Everyone else is. I’m not. I don’t do that. Look, whoever shows up, I watched him with Bernie Sanders, and he did okay. I wouldn’t say he was Winston Churchill.”

“Yes, he did,” the host replied.

“But he got through,” Trump continued. “But you know the way it is, the fake news. If he stands up, and if he is able to breathe, and if he’s able to walk off the platform, they’ll say it was one of the greatest debate performances in history. These, the fake news is corrupt, and it’s a disgrace. And it’s now rated lower than Congress. At least in my mind, it’s rated lower than anything. But I’ve seen things from the fake news that someday I’ll tell you some things you wouldn’t even believe. These are corrupt people. So if he goes and debates; if he said. ‘Yes, I had a wonderful breakfast, thank you for asking the question,’ they’ll give him, they’ll say it was one of the greatest answers in history.”

“So you know, I know what I’m up against, and I had a smaller dose of it with Hillary,” Trump said. “But Hillary was smart. Joe was never smart. Joe wasn’t smart in prime time. I’ve had a certain highly-respected senator years ago, I said, who I got along with very well which people would be shocked at, I said, “Who’s the smartest person in the Senate?” He gave me a name. Then I said who’s the dumbest, and he said Joe. And I said, ‘Who’s Joe?’ ‘Joe.’ I said, ‘Who is he? Who is he?’ He said, ‘Joe. You don’t know Joe?’ And we go along, and I said, ‘You’re talking about Biden?’ ‘Yeah, I’m talking about Joe Biden.’ I said, ‘Why, he’s the dumbest in the Senate?’ ‘He is by far. He’s a glad hand.’”

“He called him a glad hand, and he was a friend,” Trump continued. “He was a friend of the guy. But he said Joe Biden’s the dumbest in the Senate.”

Shortly after presumptive Democrat nominee Joe Biden chose Kamala Harris as his vice-presidential nominee, former President Barack Obama expressed support for the move in a tweet that included a detailed statement.

“Joe Biden nailed this decision. By choosing Senator Kamala Harris as America’s next vice president, he’s underscored his own judgment and character,” Obama tweeted.

“This is a good day for our country. Now let’s go win this thing,” he added.

Read the full statement:

Statement from President Obama on the Selection of Senator Kamala Harris as Vice President Joe Biden’s Running Mate

Choosing a vice president is the first important decision a president makes. When you’re in the Oval Office, when the toughest issues, and the choice you make will affect the lives and livelihoods of the entire country – you need someone with you who’s got the judgment and the character to make the right call. Someone whose focus goes beyond self-interest to consider the lives and prospects of others.

Joe Biden nailed this decision. By choosing Senator Kamala Harris as America’s next vice president, he’s underscored his own judgment and character. Reality shows us that these attributes are not optional in a president. They’re requirements of the job. And now Joe has an ideal partner to help him tackle the very real challenges America faces right now and in the years ahead.

I’ve known Senator Harris for a long time. She is more than prepared for the job. She spent her career defending our Constitution and fighting for folks who need a fair shake. Her own life story is one that I and so many others can see ourselves in: a story that says that no matter where you come from, what you look like, how you worship, or who you love, there’s a place for you here. It’s a fundamentally American perspective, one that’s led us out of the hardest times before. And it’s a perspective we can all rally behind right now.

Barr is loaded for bear, Durham and Huber are but two of 20 prosecutors that have been working full time full speed ahead on this, cranking out over 5,000 sealed federal actions per month from the DoJ since Trump took office. We'll see enough happen before the election to make Trump's victory all but guaranteed, and then the avalanche will come for real after he's reelected. There's like 175,000 sealed federal actions that have been written up, a small number of which have been unsealed thus far.

are you seriously trying to say that there's a chance in hell that they've had good information that trump's a pedo this entire time and sat on it? didnt use it in 2016 to make sure hillary's slam dunk was super califragilistic slam dunk? didnt leak it out when they were trying to force peach mints?

they're saving that gem for....Joe?

it simply does not make sense for the system to shoot itself in the foot on purpose like this. repeatedly, over and over.

I didnt have much of an opinion on Trump one way or another before all of this. Wasnt a fan of his eminent domain case here in CT, but I most certainly was a fan of his saying there had to have been bombs on 911 because a plane wasnt going to have done this on its own - and I became a fan the more mathematically impossible it all became.

I'm pretty confident I'm right on this one :D

Still don't care. Personally, I don't believe prostitution should be illegal to begin with. And just because he/they took a picture with the owner, doesn't mean he/they frequented the establishment or utilized their extra services. And so what if they did?

This is the second time you tried pushing guilt by association. And they're not even strong associations. Doesn't matter if they were. That doesn't fly in the face of logic and rational thinking.

you're aware what a strawman logical fallacy is, yes? there's a lot of shit going on behind the scenes, how do we know she wasnt really in control and actually told them about the trafficking going on at the place? that they nabbed Kraft there was a shot across the bow of sorts from what I was able to decipher about that whole thing. that massage parlor was a front for human trafficking, and trump's got a damned good record in that dept....so half baked association memes fall a little shy.

Guys, I think was making the point that you can find any evidence you like to support what you want to think. Post up a meme and there we have it! It's not actually evidence of anything, moreso self-masturbation.

e.g. Trump has just retweeted, or whatever, another birther scandal about Kamala. Woo hoo :woot:

Your left-right hatred is so twisted beyond recognition, I wouldn't know where to begin to find the truth.

I've tried a couple times to illustrate the ways this is not a left right divide and that republicans have been and are guilty also, despite using the "left" meme for the totalitarians. evidence chains are a real thing, and it basically seems to me that instead of actually looking into any of this stuff, you just say I have no idea where to start and thus never do, and reality stays obscured by this.

you can start with the shit tons of evidence that the Obama admin unlawfully used the intelligence agencies to spy on and concoct fabricated evidence with which to try and thwart the will of the american people - its all coverup from there. once you know for a fact that the obama admin did this, and that a whole lot of other things were done in attempts to cover things up, only then will things start making sense.

Former Washington Post reporter-turned-columnist Karen Tumulty came under fire Sunday for disclosing her son's employment with the Biden campaign in a column oozing with praise for the presumptive 2020 Democratic nominee's reelection bid.

The Sunday column headlined “The woman who transformed Joe Biden’s campaign," gushes over Biden's campaign manager Jennifer O’Malley Dillon, and the "harmony" with which she was able to unite "the Democratic National Committee and the party’s liberal allies."

At one point in the column, Tumulty credits O’Malley Dillon for "transforming what had been an underfinanced, undisciplined and dysfunctional Democratic primary operation into a general-election machine capable of carrying Biden through to the November election," parenthetically adding "(Disclosure: My adult son works for the Biden campaign)."

Many rushed to Twitter to note the apparent conflict of interest -- among them Politico reporter Daniel Lippman -- who elicited a "fuller disclosure" from Tumulty in response.
1295124417849237506
"Fuller disclosure: My adult son has been working for the Biden campaign for a week as a research assistant. I have been covering politics for 40 years. Should I give up covering politics? Or tell my adult son not to pursue a career he wants?" Tumulty wrote. "Would love advice from other parents."

Tumulty also urged Lippman to read her "columns about the Biden campaign for the past year, and he will see that it is totally consistent. In the criticism and the praise," she wrote.

One Twitter user warned Tumulty to " avoid inside info" urging her to "Task another trusted relative with the mom advice role, if that is even a factor."

"Can’t imagine a clearer, easier call than saying, 'nope, I’m not gonna write about this," another wrote.

Former Politico reporter Meredith Shiner came to Tumulty's defense, tweeting, "honestly a research assistant is not an important or powerful enough position to give any sort of access or favor. Also if it’s oppo research, we all see it said out loud every day," she wrote. "And if it’s policy research, we all see what’s failing. Call us back when he’s running a campaign."

Daily Wire Staff Report

https://i.imgur.com/jd01bGCl.jpg

Fox News anchor Chris Wallace unloaded on presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden late last week for continuing to avoid media interviews as he runs a “basement strategy” campaign.

Wallace made the remarks during a Fox News Radio interview in response to the Biden campaign not putting anyone from the campaign on television during today’s Sunday morning news shows.

“So, I’ve been doing Sunday shows with conventions – I started on Meet the Press in 1988. I’ve been doing it on and off, for what? What is that? Thirty two years. And it always happens that the Sunday before the convention, the campaign puts out top officials to preview the convention and to say this is what we’re gonna try to get accomplished,” Wallace said. “So, you know, we’ve [been] counting all week on, you know, having a top official from the Biden campaign, the campaign manager, the top pollster, the chief strategist, to talk about what they’re going to talk about during this next week. They are not putting anybody out.”

“And at first I thought, well, maybe it’s because it’s Fox News and they’re boycotting us,” Wallace continued. “No, they’re not putting anybody out on any of the Sunday shows … I don’t understand what’s going on here. This is the damnedest thing I’ve ever seen that you would, you know, you’re basically giving a campaign – and as I say, it’s a traditional thing. We’re gonna do it for the Republicans a week from Sunday. What are you trying to accomplish this week? And they, the Biden campaign isn’t putting anybody out.”

“And this just is of a piece with the vice president not doing really any serious interviews, not answering any questions since the rollout,” Wallace continued. “I don’t, you know, you can try, and I understand has worked pretty well, and he continues to lead with what I’ll call the basement strategy. I don’t think you can hide from now till Election Day. I just I just don’t think it’s possible.”

Biden has also refused to answer questions from reporters the few times that he has given press conferences where teleprompters are present.

The Daily Wire reported:

[I]Biden’s refusal to take questions comes as he has faced mounting questions about his fitness for office, including questions about his cognitive abilities. Biden’s wife, Jill Biden, recently had to go on Fox News to defend her husband from the criticisms. It’s worth noting that numerous Democrats, progressives, and left-wing publications have also questioned Biden’s mental fitness for office. Biden, who said a couple of months ago that he was “constantly tested” for cognitive decline, walked those claims back last week, denying that he had been tested for cognitive decline and saying, “Why the hell would I take a test?”

Fox News anchor Bret Baier said this week on Twitter that his news program asks Biden every week to come on the program to answer questions.
1294750582863994881
Even CNN is beginning to acknowledge that this is an issue for the Biden campaign as left-wing commentator Brian Stelter said: “I think this is increasingly becoming an issue among the press corps and among political insiders.”

If something is not hitting the light of day, either people are not interested or it doesn't carry a lot of weight imo

cmon bro, its not 1995 anymore....even PBS admits this

By 2000, six corporations had ownership of most media, and today five dominate the industry: Time Warner, Disney, Murdoch's News Corporation, Bertelsmann of Germany and Viacom. With markets branching rapidly into international territories, these few companies are increasingly responsible for deciding what information is shared around the world.
https://www.pbs.org/independentlens/democracyondeadline/mediaownership.html

This is precisely the reason why none of this huge shit is not hitting the light of day - the people who arent interested in letting the public see this have decided it carries too much weight to make widely known.

Now my infographic from the other day that mentioned all those players....guess who just pleaded guilty? Kevin Clinesmith. It'll be interesting, because one of Q's major posts said 11.3 is an important marker for the beginning....we'll see if K11 C3 means what it might mean. Of course, most people dont know who Kevin Clinesmith is...and it should have been the media's job to make sure his name was in the list of traitors....except the media was working alongside them, and there will be several media players going to jail, e.g. Maggie from the NYT is a likely candidate.

Weissman is another traitor who is probably widely unknown
https://jonathanturley.org/2020/08/16/mueller-aide-weissmann-calls-on-doj-attorneys-not-to-help-on-investigations/
Mueller Aide Weissmann Urges DOJ Attorneys 'Not' To Help On Investigations
"I was among those who expressed concern when Mueller selected Weissmann due to his history of controversial prosecutorial decisions, including a pattern of prosecutorial overreach in the Enron litigation."

Gotta love the Enron tie, because all the evidence for that case was destroyed in 911.

consider the insanity and sedition here:

Recently, Weissmann wrote an extraordinary and disturbing New York Times op-ed (with former Defense Department special counsel Ryan Goodman). In the column, he appeared to call on Justice Department lawyers to undermine the Durham investigation as well as the investigation by U.S. Attorney John Bash’s investigation into the “unmasking” requests by Obama administration officials. They wrote “Justice Department employees in meeting their ethical and legal obligations, should be well advised not to participate in any such effort.”

Consider that line for a moment...

Weissmann is openly calling on attorneys to refuse to help on investigations that could raise questions about his own decisions. Durham is looking at a pattern errors, false statements, bias, and now criminal conduct in the Russian investigation. There is obviously overlap with the Mueller investigation which discussed many of the same underlying documents and relied on work by some of the same individuals. The failure to address misconduct, bias, or criminal conduct by such individuals would be embarrassing to both Weissmann and Mueller. Despite that obvious conflict of interest, Weissmann is calling on attorneys to stand down.

It is the same troubling position that was once taken by Sally Yates, who told an entire federal agency not to assist the President in his travel ban.

"Broad conspiracies" while used in a pejorative sense by you, is precisely what we have going on here, so its kinda silly to say you dont believe in something in a general sense when its not only fully within the realm of possibility, but actually took place. This is almost like getting an alcoholic to admit he's got a problem and I'm curious where the bar is for accepting the facts about what the Obama admin did here. You dont have to go straight to the "they worked with the chicoms and released covid"....we can get to that point later when you're ready for it....just get to first base first and we can move on from there ;)

Obama & crew tried to frame Trump & several others, unlawfully, making up fake shit and unlawfully using the intelligence agencies of not only the USA but britian aus new zeeland france as well...involving foreign actors in a plot to overthrow the duly elected government of the united states is straight up Treason, bro. This is step #1 to understand, there is enough evidence in the public sphere to know that this took place.

I've been avoiding trying to seriously tackle you with what you say with facts because I don't believe it's to do with facts. We pick the guy that we like and support them.

Trump to me looks really red-faced overweight unhealthy. He's kind of restless and unpleasant I don't like him so I'm not really interested in looking for needle in the haystack evidence about what a great guy he is. I think the whole birther thing with Obama was disgusting and his jump from one thing to another, in my opinion, in the worst instances is to simply rile up the stupidest and most bigoted of his supporters as distraction when he gets into trouble. I think the most notables thing about these conspiracy theories is their perfect timing. The birther thing, its a joke that anyone can believe Obama's forged birth certificate was actually real, it was so real that the forgery layers were left for all to see and then they murdered the woman who certified it. This is a distraction at this point.

Timing is curious also, because this has been going steady since before the 2016 election...I could say something about timing that you could perhaps gripe about, but that's inside the deep analysis (not ct :P ) and that has to do with the hire of Sessions.

I'm not going to directly talk about this, but yeah I'm happy with the suggestions that there are politically motivated undercurrents. Trump's a potentially dangerous man - and in certain contexts patently unfit to be president. (I don't personally completely condemn him though. He's put on a few good fights).

However, they are looking for legal ways to get rid of him. And they've come pretty close. He makes mistakes, he's done crooked things, a lot of his friends are crooked and have gone down in these investigations legitimately. I actually think that they found enough evidence to warrant getting rid of him, but they don't want to rock the boat. They'll wait until November.

Trump being a dangerous man is an MSM meme, as is "unfit to be president"....."fit"ness is glow-ness and compliance with the traitor network that the banksters have worked so hard to establish over the past couple hundred years, something that is threatened by Trump & Patriots being in control of the USA, as opposed to our long line of CIA presidents Bush, Clinton, Bush, Obama...

And they havent come anywhere near close to getting rid of him, nor do they have any legitimate reason to do so. This is ALSO a MSM meme.

They dont want to rock the boat, lmao....covid and the race riots dont count as rocking the boat? Right, you havent seen enough yet ;)

Dont be surprised when its a landslide victory for Trump in November ;)
