PETS are being kept indoors across Lincolnshire today after a raccoon dog has been spotted on the loose.
Residents in the village of Clarborough say they are living in fear after a particularly aggressive raccoon dog has been spotted on the loose.
One resident, Betsy Greenhalgh, posted a picture of the animal on social media in an effort to trace the exotic animal’s owner, saying it tried to attack her mother's goat.
She said: "Does anybody know what this is? It attacked my mother-in-law's goat at 4.30am this morning and was unable to be scared off by two men for an hour and a half.
"It also attempted to attack a dog. Please be aware this is very aggressive! Clarborough area."
Residents have been advised to bring animals inside just to be on the safe side, says Lincolnshire Live.

Nottinghamshire Police said that they had received a report at around 6am this morning of the dog roaming around the area and are aware of the incident.
It is understood that the Raccoon Dog has escaped from its pen and owners are out looking for it.
Raccoon dogs are known to feed on amphibians and ground-nesting birds.
They are being culled in some countries due to the risk they pose to native wildlife.
This is the second time that a racoon dog has menaced pets in the region. There were similar reports of an escaped raccoon dog in the area in February.
