Well it looks like I will make it through another year without a stranger introducing themselves to wish me Happy Fathers Day.

I hate the second half of June. First comes Father's Day, then the 22nd is my dad's birthday, and then the 27th is the day he passed away. You may have been a major pain in my ass sometimes dad, but I really, really miss you. :(

Fast becoming one of my least favorite days too. I got a Dairy Queen blizzard yesterday because my Dad loved them

Use my birthday as an excuse to celebrate and be happy. It's the 25th. Next week on Tuesday. Go out and have a beer in my honor or whatever.

Happy belated Father's Day to the dads here.

Drove down to southern Oregon with my wife to watch my sister-in-law graduate veterinary school on Father's Day. Their dad passed 3.5 years ago, he was a doctor and got to watch my wife graduate medical school just a few months before he passed, but obviously didn't get to see his younger girl become a doctor of veterinary medicine. It was a bittersweet day, we missed him dearly, but he would've been very proud.

I know I have told you this story before. I was at the cemetery on Father's Day (I believe) a few years back. I had bought a six pack and some AC Grenadiers my old man used to smoke. I was sitting there having a beer and a cigar when a couple older guys walked up to me. They asked me what I was doing. "Having a beer with my old man". "When did he pass?" "1993" They looked at me sideways before one said, "and you still come out, that's really nice" and they walked away. 26 years here.... I still think about him a lot and make jokes about the things he taught me. My wife's favorite is "the wingtip is the only business shoe". (I will always own a pair).

I had to be a motherfucker yesterday when my kids wouldn't take no for an answer and were trying to get some kid at the river to come home with us for the week.. Once I started dropping the F bombs after ignoring my rule they snapped back into line.. I swear, if Im too nice they confuse that for weakness and completely ignore the words that come out of my mouth..
