A new study is causing quite the stink after finding that a good portion of Millennials and Generation Zers are turning away from deodorant use, prompting one company to rely on celebrity stardom to change that.

A June poll conducted by YouGov Plan and Track found that among 18- 24 year-olds, nearly 40 percent said they haven’t applied deodorant or antiperspirant the last month. The difference among 25 - 34 year-olds only slightly changed to 31 percent who also ditched the hygiene products in the last month.

The poll also revealed that when asked if those same groups purchased either product in the last year, more than 37 percent and 48 percent, respectively, said they have not.

While the decrease in use among the younger population might cause the market to shrink, companies like Schmidt’s Natural is hoping to win over those same people using a celebrity endorsement.

Justin Bieber announced last month that he would be collaborating with Schmidt’s to launch his own deodorant line “Here + Now” in the fall.

The campaign might work as the same poll found that Generation Zers are more likely to hold a positive opinion of the singer than the average American. It also found that of those Bieber fans, 55 percent are more likely to agree that they “enjoy watching advertisements with my favorite celebrities.”

That same group said they were more likely to buy from socially or environmentally responsible companies.

That's because they do NOTHING to exert themselves.

That gif makes me feel anxious...
That picture upsets me...
That ____ makes me uncomfortable...

I'm all for having sympathy for people with crippling mental health problems, lord knows I have my own problems and fears....but saying imagery makes you need to take meds is just asinine.

Yup, that's the way it has become and it's only going to keep getting worse. :| And it's filtering down to young kids, even down to middle school and elementary school. EVERYTHING gives them anxiety.

It's the net and the way society has evolved into online relationships and written communications only.

I feel different after being off work and staying inside without much contact for the past few years.

Real anxiety can be bad, but I sincerely believe these kids are creating a new form of mental illness derived from the pc/phone/insta interactions.

We should unleash the full power of Deebakes on the kids that get upset over pics or words.

As a guy who needs to apply deodorant twice a day to not stink, I just have SUCH a hard time believing this  I usually just wear regular old spice deodorant, but if I'm going to have a stressful day at work, I bust out full on heavy-duty antiperspirant. I didn't realize there was a difference until a few years back - life changing discovery to avoid sweating through a suit jacket.

I'll give it a go! Does it burn? My buddy gave himself a NASTY chemical burn last year using some shit you put on overnight to block slow down sweating for a few weeks at a time  We were in Mexico the week after and his armpits were just peeling off, it was hilariously awful.

The other thing I want to try was this product I saw advertised on TV when I was in the US last week that you apply on your hands to stop them from sweating. Can't remember the name, I'll have to see if it's sold up here though. I hate shaking hands in stressful meetings because I can hide my stress well, but it all pours out through my hands and pits

I've never had an issue. They advertise for hands and feet as well. It shuts down the sweat glands.
