Up and down today. Mostly up.

The down: My insurance company isn't going to pay for my last blood work, because the lab I had it done at is no longer a provider, even though they were a provider for like 10 years straight before this year. Of course, if you ask the lab, they'll say they are a provider, but the insurance company is saying no they're not. Obviously, the insurance company's gonna win out since they're holding the checkbook. It should be law that the labs have to tell you straight up if they're a provider or not before anything's done. But you know what they say: shoulda, coulda, woulda. So I'm getting stuck with a $440 bill. And I'm gonna have to drive an hour to do bloodwork for my doctor from now on. I guess I could have worse problems.

The up: Everybody checked in as expected, and everybody's doing fine. Got that telescope from my sister and her husband on Wednesday (and it's been cloudy and overcast every freakin' night since I got it... go figure). My brother sent me a gift card to Amazon, like he always does ( :woot: ). Mom gave me money and a tearjerker card like she always does ( :woot: ). The boys (nephews) both texted me, wished me a happy b-day, and told me that everything's A-OK on their end. I got my bona fide NY style pizza from the local shop that I haven't been to in several years. I went outside for a while and just sat in the hot sun and breathed in the air and enjoyed the stillness.

And that's all I really wanted this year. So, except for the one assfucking with the insurance company and the lying lab, it was a perfect day.
