NORTH LAUDERDALE, Florida -- A homeowner was shocked after a man was caught on video defecating on his driveway then leaving the mess and the shirt he used to clean himself behind.

While homeowner Wilton Thomas was at work, his Ring camera captured a green car pulled into his driveway. In the video, the driver opened the door, took off his shirt and stooped down to relieve himself.

"I know when it comes on for you to go, you have to go," Thomas said. "He could have drove himself right toward the left in the fence toward the coconut tree and do what he wanted to do there. That would be no problem - but in my driveway?"

Thomas says when he got home, it was too late to take care of the mess right away, so he waited until Sunday morning.

"I went in the hot sun, scraped it up, poured it into a bag. I poured bleach, and then I hosed and washed the whole thing off," Thomas said.

Thomas says he's ready to put this situation behind him, but he does want an apology from the person responsible.

"Knock and say, 'Man, you know what, I had an emergency. I had nowhere to go, and this is where I had to do what I had to do,'" Thomas said.

According to WPLG-TV, the Broward County Sheriff's Office is investigating the incident and trying to identify the man.

I'm thinking about getting one. Did you put it in yourself? Is it difficult?

Piece of cake.. It helps if you have a doorbell already installed. It will use that power to keep it charged and it also will still ring your conventional doorbell.. It has a function called live view where I can click it anytime and see whats going on.. I can also sit at my desk and have a 2 way conversation with someone on my porch... My picture is much much better than the one in that story you posted.. I have the 'Ring 2'.

Damn, really? I didn't know that, that's awesome. I already have a doorbell, so then it should be easy peasy. Same wires to just unhook and then hook up to the Ring?

Same wires and then an easy 'QR code' scan for the set-up.. You just have to follow the instructions exactly and don't skip any steps.

$169.00 on sale at Lowes when I got mine.

Is it cloud storage or do you need something at home to record it to?

Is it cloud storage or do you need something at home to record it to?

After 30 days I pay them $3 a month for unlimited cloud storage... Or they have some deluxe plan for $10.. The unit still works without the storage, you just don't have the recorded video without their storage. Also, Ring sends you a weekly crime report for your area on a clickable map and you can see exactly what the charge was and if a ring doorbell was on site you can see the crime..

The doorbell is controlled through my phone on an app.

Lance look at these they are cheaper and do everything a Ring will do.

I have been using Zmoda for about 5 years now and LOVE them. I have the doorbell, 8 interior cameras and 2 exterior cameras and they work great and are reasonably priced.

So this works with the existing wiring? I don't want to have to do any kind of wiring, I'm far from being an electrician.

I just read some of the reviews, biggest complaint is lag time between the doorbell being pushed and the app notifying you that someone's at the door. Is that what you experience too?

They are all reliant on your wifi. If your wifi sucks or its to far away there can be lag. I dont have that problem.

I have a Ring but I couldn't install it. I have stone siding on the front of my house and the way it's situated where my doorbell's located makes it ridiculously difficult to get the Ring bracket installed.

I just replaced my front door deadbolt. I've had an electric keypad for a deadbolt for about 8 years. It was actually hard to find a good replacement in stock that WASN'T a wifi type. Call me an old fart, but I dont want any of my home connected to wifi or cellular.

We had people up here with those flags on their walls as kids. To me it represents(ed) a whole lot more than just slavery. It's part of US history.

I have cameras, but, they again aren't tied to the internet. If you want to break in my home, you'll have to jump a fence, get past the dogs, then break in a steel deadbolted door or a window. All of which are tied to an alarm system. (Simplisafe).my wife is almost always home, and she regularly trains with her shotgun and pistol. Tbh totally honest, I generally leave my doors unlocked. My neighborhood is VERY crime free. But, all these things make my wife more comfy, so, I have them.
