A TEENAGER claims she ended up looking like “Mr Potato Head” after buying £40 veneers online.

Ferne Rawson, 18, saw the veneers on thebrightsmiles.com and decided to splash out on the teeth coverings.

However, what she did not expect was to end up looking like a plastic potato from the Pixar classic Toy Story.

She also joked she was “phoning the polis” after receiving the veneers.

Ferne, from Auchinleck near Cumnock in East Ayrshire, posted pictures to Twitter on Friday showing the facade explaining what happened.

She said: “Ferne strikes again.

“Ordered clip-in veneers because all the pics looked good and I got all excited.

"They just arrived and I look like Mr Potato Head, cannot breathe, actual best 40 quid I’ve ever spent.”

The images show what Ferne initially thought she was going to get - a woman’s teeth looking more refined and whitened on a review of the ‘thebrightsmiles.com’ website.

The teen also posted snaps of how the product had been advertised online

The screengrab also shows a review left by one person who rated the site five stars and said: “I could not thank you enough.

"The whole process was easy and straightforward. Communication with the team via email was fast and all questions were answered.”

However, the next photo shows Ferne posing whilst wearing the veneers which appear bright white and almost too big for her mouth.

Another photo shows her clearly laughing as she appears to be not too bothered about how she looks.

This did not stop her sending in a complaint about the product, which said: “Are you having a laugh or what, I look like Mr Potato Head. I’m phoning the polis.”

Ferne’s tweet racked up more than 2,000 likes with several comments from Twitter users who found the veneers hilarious.

Twitter user @GeorgiaHaddow2 said: “Oh wow that’s hot.”

Whilst Heather Robbins posted a picture of Jim Carrey’s character, saying: “Paint your face green and you have a perfect Mask cosplay.”

The snap-on veneers are no longer available to buy on the brand's website.
