A female high school teacher from Kentucky has been accused of having a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old male student at her school.
Kendall Burk, 23, a biology teacher at Grant County High School, was arrested on Wednesday, and charged with four counts of sodomy and four counts of rape.
Under Kentucky law, sodomy is defined, in part, as deviate sexual intercourse with another person, which covers 'any act of sexual gratification involving the sex organs of one person and the mouth of anus of another.'

According to the county sheriff’s office, Burk had multiple sexual encounters with the teenage victim over the summer break off campus.
Administrators at the high school learned of the allegations against Burk from a student on Wednesday and alerted the school resource officer, who then contacted the sheriff's department, reported Local12.
Her LinkedIn page indicates that Burk graduated from the University of Kentucky in 2018 and has taught at the high school for just over a year.
Burk was ordered held in the county jail on $50,000 bond. She is due back in court on Monday.
DailyMail.com on Thursday reached out of Grant County Schools seeking comment on Burk's current employment status in the wake of her arrest.
A spokesperson for the district responded with a letter that Superintendent Matthew Morgan sent parents on Thursday confirming Burk's arrest and saying that she has been 'removed from duties.'
'While these events, of course, sadden us, our first priority – and that of the law enforcement with whom we work – is and must always be the protection and safety of our students,' Morgan continued.
