Metro Police say 45-year-old Melissa Petrice, of Oakland, CA, was “laughing and clucking like a chicken” in the back of the patrol car while she was being transported to booking after a Monday night arrest for public intoxication and disorderly conduct.
Metro Nashville Police responded to a call from staff at the Fairfield Inn at 901 Division Street, who reported guest Melissa Dawn Petrice was causing issues with other guests and intoxicated. Initially she was back in her room when officers arrived, but as they were leaving she emerged from her hotel room and was pointed out by staff. She then began yelling and screaming, causing everyone else in the area to stop and take note.
Police eventually took Petrice into custody, charging her with public intoxication and disorderly conduct. When being transported to booking, they report she was “laughing and clucking like a chicken” while in the back of the patrol car. She was booked and freed on pre-trial release.
