A twisted 23-year-old mum threw her newborn baby girl out of a maternity hospital window after being told the child was likely to be disabled.

To try and "cover the crime", she then dropped a second baby girl – not hers – out of the window in Namangan, Uzbekistan, according to police.

It took an hour for sleeping night duty staff to realise the babies were missing and had fallen 16ft.

When they were finally found, the girls were alive but severely injured from the fall and both died soon afterwards in intensive care.

The killer mum's two previous children had died of natural causes after being born with severe disabilities, sparking her crazed actions.

The woman – named only D.Kh – now faces 15 to 25 years in jail.

A police source confirmed the woman had given birth twice before to babies who were disabled and both had died from natural causes.

“This time she was told by maternity hospital doctors that her newborn daughter was unlikely to be healthy,” said the source.

“It made her think that no-one would ever love or need this baby, and pushed her to commit this awful crime.”

The mum is believed to have been told the child had bow legs, a condition that was likely to have been cured if it was the only problem.

The second tragic mother whose healthy baby was killed was named as M.T, aged 22.

A murder case has been opened against D. Kh, and separate case for medical negligence against hospital staff who were “asleep” at the time.

They face up to eight years in jail.

Women of Uzbekistan committee said that it got in touch with the family of the woman who killed the babies.

"We don’t approve of what she did, but we would like to help her and her family by easing their grave psychological trauma," said a statement.

"We don’t approve of what she did..."

You actually have to clarify that in writing? :(
