I like mine either the soft scrambled (which you can only do at home because a restaurant won't serve them that way) or over medium.

I've only eaten hard boiled when they're deviled eggs. Typically scrambled, sunny side up, or over easy. I've had omelettes and sandwiches which are typically fried eggs in a pan. I don't think I've ever tried them any other way, unless they were a part of something else, like a quiche or something like that.

Bacon and cheese omelet. Dice up the cooked bacon, shredded Mexican cheese or Colby Jack. I don't cook it too often, I usually take the easy way out, but every once in a while...

Mom used to poach them often way back when I was short and I always made fried eggs sunny side up as a kid.

In high school we used to party every weekend at my place and it became a tradition for my best friend to come over Saturday afternoon and watch Stampede Wrestling (Harts before WWF).

One of us would supply a dozen eggs, the other guy a pound of bacon and we'd chop the bacon up, fry it up with onions and make a huge scrambled egg dish.

It was our hangover cure for years

Not a big omelette guy, most of the time the eggs get over-cooked and the shit inside like peppers and onions aren't cooked properly so it's just unenjoyable. I just need runny yolk. Scramble the other ingredients with some taters on the side but give me my runny eggs.

My wife is the opposite of me, even for fried eggs she wants the yolk broken and spread out so she doesn't have to look at it  Savage.

and people laugh at me for my cooking

Turn your stove approximately to the setting under halfway (4 out of 10), lay in about a pound of butter, throw in the eggs with some salt and pepper and then put a lid on it.

Keep checking by peeking and shaking the pan a little...done when the yolks still move around a bit but the whites are stationary. For you it's probably no more than 4 or 5 minutes on that heat.

I had a hell of a time with rice (see thread) and now can't seem to cook a hamburger in a pan without burning it and creating a HUGE greasefest   They come out fine on the BBQ.

In that vein, I almost fell for the hype. I was thinking about getting an air fryer. They seem to be all the rage and there's numerous sites and cookbooks dedicated to making dishes for them. I asked the wife and she said, sure, if you want one (the 'better' ones are pricey, so I wanted to ask her opinion).

Well, I almost pulled the trigger and just before I did, I decided to Google 'are air fryers worth it'? And after a few articles under that, I am glad I didn't order it. I guess they are a lot bigger than you would image (one article compared them to the footprint of a 5 gallon pain and 2/3's are tall as one) and at best the food was lackluster. And when you get right down to it, they are nothing more than a glorified convection over (which we already have). So, I'm so glad I didn't get one. And this is the article that changed my mind:

https://www.wired.com/story/air-fryers/

It's pretty comical in spots but it definitely tells you that you should not invest in one.

I love my emersion blender, it's an awesome kitchen tool. Great for blending sauces or soups without transferring to a blender, easy to plug in anywhere in the kitchen and easy to clean too. Also works very well for making quick dressings in the little cup it comes with rather than getting a full sized blender out. I
