A pair of Pittsburgh-area teenagers are being slammed for filming a silly, flippant TikTok video immediately after a car crash.
Katie Cornetti, 16, recently took a ride with her friend Marissa Bordas when Marissa lost control during a turn, causing the car to flip twice and land on its side, with the two girls stuck inside.
While most people would be shaken up by such a serious accident, the girls were full of laughs, and recorded a funny video to music that Katie shared online — which has now been viewed millions of times.

The video was taken immediately after the accident, with the two teens still seat-belted in and presumably waiting for first responders.
The passenger side of the car is on the ground, while the driver's side is up in the air.
Katie pans the camera around, showing the shattered windows riddled with cracks. The girls look unharmed, though their hair is flowing sideways with gravity.
The song Stupid by Ashnikko and Yung Baby Tate, which includes the sound of laughter — which the girls lip-sync.
After Katie uploaded the TikTok, it quickly went viral. YouTuber Zane, of Zane and Heath, shared it with his 1.7 million followers, where it picked up steam — and criticism.
'Seriously what’s wrong with people,' chided one commenter.

'Yeah let’s promote being irresponsible,' said another, while a third wrote: 'Probably why they got in an accident ........ so glad they put themselves and everyone else at risk for a freakin Tik Tok.'
'They have rich parents. I just know they do,' another chimed in.
Dozens more called the girls immature and irresponsible and slammed them for being so cavalier about something serious.
But the teens insist that they're being unfairly maligned. Speaking to BuzzFeed, Katie said they weren't recorded before the accident, and they only did it as a way to keep their minds occupied while waiting for police.
'We saw [the window] shatter and we look at each other, and were like, "Are you OK? Are you OK?" Once we figured out we were all OK, we started laughing,' she said. 'We're best friends and this is how we coped together.'
'It really was scary... But we decided let’s do this to get our minds off of it, and honestly it helped a lot.

'There was not much we could do to make anything better, so that's what we decided to do.
'Social media] is distracting...in ways, it's bad distracting, but it helped us get out of the real world for a second and helped us calm down. I would never have said that before this.'
The teens also seem to be thrilled with their viral fame, and uploaded another jokey video reenacting the accident.
They've now also shared a 'story' video in which they gleefully recount what happened, explaining that they'd gone out for smoothies when they ran into trouble.
'We were driving on this road and it got kind of turny,' Katie says in the clip. 'Her tire needed remounting. The car basically just like flipped twice, went through a fence, and landed on the side.

'And just so you know, we were not even on our phones. Even I, who was the passenger, were not on our phones,' she added.
Marissa added: 'And we took the TikTok while we were bored, waiting in the car for 20 minutes.'
'It calmed us down because we didn't want to be freaking out the whole time,' Katie chimed back in.
Marissa also insisted that, contrary to what commenters have speculated, her parents aren't buying her a new car.
'If anybody's wondering, daddy's money is not paying for my f***ing car. It's my money, thank you very much,' she said.
