FORT PIERCE — A woman told police she had a medical marijuana card, but that evidently didn’t keep her out of trouble when investigators reported a medical marijuana container held crack cocaine, according to an arrest affidavit.

Fort Pierce police on Dec. 20 encountered the 46-year-old woman during a traffic stop about 7:30 p.m. at North 28th Street and Orange Avenue.

Police said the vehicle smelled of spliff, also known as weed, ganja, herb, pot and a zillion other terms.

The woman said she had a medical marijuana card and pot in the vehicle.

When she got out, investigators said they spotted a small bag with possible marijuana in it, but the way it was packaged looked more like street-level drug sales as opposed to a medical pot dispensary.

Asked for her medical marijuana card, the woman pointed in the vehicle toward a hooded sweatshirt.

A glass crack pipe, however, fell from the sweatshirt.

Under the seat, police found a container from a medical marijuana business, but inside were a half dozen rocks of crack cocaine.

It should be noted that there is no such thing as a medical crack cocaine card.

The woman, whose listed address is on Bayard Road in Lakewood Park, was arrested on a cocaine possession charge.

She may have had a medical marijuana card, but she apparently lacked a get-out-of-jail-free card because investigators took her to the St. Lucie County Jail.
