PINE ISLAND - A Pine Island man was charged with masturbating outside a woman’s bedroom window and smearing a heart on her window in “an unknown substance,” according to Warwick Town Police.
The owner and a resident on Zygmunt Lane in Pine Island said they saw Jose N. Rodriguez Medrano, 53, around the property attempting to look into the female tenant’s apartment window on Jan. 8, according to Town of Warwick police.
Medrano admitted to masturbating while looking into the woman’s bedroom window and drawing a heart on the glass, police said.
Medrano was identified by his Mexico-issued ID and was arrested by Warwick Police with assistance from the Town of Goshen police on Monday, police said. He was charged with third-degree stalking, public lewdness and three counts of trespassing, all misdemeanors.
Warwick Town Judge Peter Barlett issued a temporary order of protection for the victim, and Medrano was issued an appearance ticket for arraignment in Warwick Town Court on Tuesday. The case was adjourned for discovery until Jan. 28, according to the court clerk.
