Far-left Denver City Democrat Councilwoman Candi CdeBaca stated from her government Twitter account on Monday that she stands in “solidarity” with someone who posted a graphic stating that if they became infected with the coronavirus, they wanted to attend as many Trump rallies as possible in an apparent effort to infect supporters of President Donald Trump.

CdeBaca, who has advocated for communism in the past, responded to a tweet that featured a graphic that stated: “For the record, if I do get the coronavirus I’m attending every MAGA rally I can.”

CdeBaca responded by writing, “#solidarity Yaaaas!!”

The coronavirus, which originated in China, has infected well over 90,000 people worldwide and has killed well over 3,100 people. The outbreak has led to panic in different parts of the world, and that fear, combined with government-imposed quarantines, has threatened economic growth that has already cost the world economy well into the billions of dollars.

9 News highlighted that the account was indeed CdeBaca’s government account in a separate report that documented false statements that she has made about other politicians.

CdeBaca gained notoriety over fringe comments that she made in March 2019 during a candidate forum for City Council District 9:

I don’t believe our current economic system actually works. Um, capitalism by design is extractive and in order to generate profit in a capitalist system, something has to be exploited, that’s land, labor or resources.

And I think that we’re in late phase capitalism and we know it doesn’t work and we have to move into something new. And I believe in community ownership of land, labor, resources, and distribution of those resources.

And so, whatever that morphs into I think is what will serve community the best and I’m excited to usher it in by any means necessary. [Emphasis added]

Encyclopedia Britannica defines communism as a “political and economic doctrine that aims to replace private property and a profit-based economy with public ownership and communal control of at least the major means of production (e.g., mines, mills, and factories) and the natural resources of a society.”

CdeBaca has praised communist Cuba:

The Communist piece, I’ve been in places where we’ve demonized people for being Communists. I’ve been to Cuba. I love Cuba. I love the way there’s not that rampant consumerism like we have here. But I do understand that Cuba, in the global context, they still have to deal with capitalism. They still rely on tourism. They’re still shut off from a world that’s making them think they’re missing out on something. But I don’t think rampant consumerism has served us well. I think there’s a clear problem with our structure, both political and economic. We’ve allowed the concentration of wealth through the concentration of political power.

CdeBaca, who said that she loved socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s (D-NY) campaign logo because it was based on “political propaganda,” also said that she thinks that everyone misunderstands what communism is and that she identifies as an anarchist.

“Yes, that the way we understand communism is the problem,” CdeBaca said. “Even the way we understand anarchy — you could call me an anarchist. That would fit better than any other label. Anarchy is about us not needing that imposed structure from anyone, and just being cognizant and caring and compassionate enough to take care of ourselves and our communities and each other without anyone making it happen. It’d be like democratic socialism, except without anyone calling it that and imposing a structure.”

CdeBaca has come under fire for trying to hire her live-in girlfriend as a paid staff member after running on a campaign against corruption. After facing public scrutiny, CdeBaca withdrew her waiver request to hire her girlfriend, KDVR reported.

“I am modifying my request seeking permission from the Ethics Board to hire my life partner, despite her many contributions, long hours and sacrifices to get me where I am. Instead, the waiver will simply seek permission to officially allow her to continue volunteering; yes that is a requirement in the rules,” she wrote in a press release. “I am committed to opening up a dialogue about how appointees function in Denver and whether there needs to be clear parameters for both City Council and the Mayor’s Office. I am open to your feedback about ways we can make the Council hiring process more transparent – which was my intention from the very beginning and which is why I sought a waiver in the first place – and I’m willing to introduce legislation to that end.”

Well.. She is currently a Democrat that holds a public office and has made a credible and viable threat and Jack the Ripper is a Brit from 100 years ago.. So I'm not so sure about that. :-s

And these are the types of democrats taking over the politics of Colorado. When I first moved here, this was a solidly red state. Now, it's gone completely blue. In all the important offices, from state to county to city, it's all controlled by democrats, many of whom are just like this one in the OP.

Sad state of affairs, my man.

Unfortunately I'm afraid it's only a matter of time.. Our generation will be replaced with these "progressive" thinkers sooner or later and the only way they will learn is through hardship..

It's a shame that they think they need to tear the country apart though. I guess the only good thing is that by the time they all get enough power to do it, I probably won't be around anymore to watch them wreck the country.

Exactly. I'm trying to leave each one of my kids a house so I know they will at least have a roof over their heads and the rest is up to them. I think it's going to be a tough road.

Yeah, I actually just commented on it. I don't believe that they will get away with it for long.

I don't think you can analyse something like that without looking at the entire context. Imagine for example in a state or a city that is hard on that kind of behaviour. And they were even more desperate and hungry. Or whatever their issue is. What could potentially happen that is worse?

Here's context: They robbed a Walgreens calmly and serenely because the Democrats controlling San Francisco dumbed down both the laws for theft and the police response for such crimes. If this continues, we're going to see the unintended consequences of such stupidity, like businesses closing up shop and moving out of areas that support such ridiculous notions and letting the cities wallow and crumble without any kind of commerce. And I bet the people will still vote Democrat afterwards, because that's what insanity is: doing the same thing over and over and over again while expecting different results.

yeah, I know what happened. It sounds like an unforeseen consequence of a stupid law but I'm not going to judge until I understand what it was reacting against. Unfortunately I can't find one decent unbiased article on article 47, so I'm not going to be blaming anyone until I know more about it.

I can also see other stupid political decisions that might have contributed to this. Not all left

The Democrats are buying votes by dumbing down laws. That's what's happening. The Founding Fathers and past politicians in history actually warned us against this. Promise people money and you will get their vote. Promise people an easier out for stupid decisions and you will get their vote.

There is nothing complicated about it. This is the willful dismantling of society by the Left.

And the Left are doing it because it gets them power. And people are too stupid to realize it.

You're probably right. it's cheap and nasty. And destroying to the fabric of your country. But we've also seen GOP doing this (taking advantage of and pandering to the worst in people)

I assume if the businesses try and do anything to try to get the homeless to move on they get publicly attacked by the SJW's and shamed into apologizing.

A 'Letter to the Editor' in the Denver Post yesterday (I didn't know they still had Letters to the Editor  )

CdeBaca should not get a pass

Re: “Pushback over ‘sarcastic tweet’,” March 4 news story

There is something much more concerning than the recent outbreak of the coronavirus. It’s the comments made by Democratic Denver City Councilwoman Candi CdeBaca on Twitter on Feb. 28 when she retweeted her #solidarity, writing “Yaaaas!!” in reaction to a tweet stating “For the record, if I do get the coronavirus I’m attending every MAGA rally I can.”

Let’s imagine for one second a Republican tweeted his support for spreading SARS or Ebola at an Obama campaign rally. That official would not only be forced (rightly) to resign, he would most certainly never hold office again.

CdeBaca’s office defended her by saying it was a “sarcastic tweet,” but the double standard on display here is staggering, and leads to a final point about this election cycle made by none other than the editorial board of The Denver Post not even a month ago imploring its readers to “cast your ballots for politicians who have … a record of human decency and kindness and a record of integrity.”

CdeBaca can stand behind sarcasm all she likes, but in every respect, her comments demonstrate, at best, contempt for Trump supporters and, at worst, a record of human indecency toward those she politically disagrees with.

Everyone should condemn this and remember it when she is up for re-election.
