LA BELLE, Pa. — A Fayette County man is accused of breaking into a neighbor's home and assaulting a woman and teenage boy Sunday afternoon. According to police, Terry Murphy was high on crystal meth when he broke into the home along Riverside Drive in La Belle.
Police said Murphy made bizarre statements as he entered the home and then allegedly choked the woman and her son inside.
"He said he was chasing the demon dog for Satan," Trooper Robert Broadwater said. "He then began to choke the victim and her 14-year-old son, all while yelling, 'Praise God.'"
According to court documents, the victim's husband quickly returned home and removed Murphy from the home. Police said neighbors then stepped in to make sure Murphy was stopped until police arrived.
Police said Murphy admitted to using crystal meth and he hadn't eaten or slept in at least five days. He was taken to the hospital to be treated and later transported to the Fayette County Jail.
