This is one of the more gnarly mountain passes in Colorado. It is one way only and once you start going down, you are committed to the trip. Anything longer than a jeep and you are probably fucked unless you are an expert on these kinds of roads, as you have to make between a 3 and 10 point turn to get around the switchbacks. There's jeep rental places in the area that won't rent to you if you tell them you are going over Black Bear.
