On Friday evening (Jan. 15), the Coos County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report that 47-year-old Shaun Colle Nix was refusing to leave a residence on E. Howard St. in Coos Bay after being asked to.
Deputies attempted to persuade Nix to leave the property, even offering him a ride to his residence, the report said.
He appeared to be under the influence of a narcotic, according to deputies.
After being given an opportunity to depart the property, Nix attempted to re-enter the residence when deputies placed him into custody.
"Shaun attempted to resist and pull away from the deputies while he was being placed into custody, as well as kicking one of the deputies," police said.
Nix was carried to the patrol vehicle and transported to the Coos County Jail where he was booked and lodged on the following charges:
Criminal Trespass II
Harassment
Interfering with a Peace Officer
Resisting Arrest
Attempted Assault on a Public Safety Officer
