A stingy woman has admitted she buys 'crusty' thongs from charity shops to save money.

The lady, called Apple, said she likes to seduce her husband in the second-hand items.

Apple appeared on TLC's Extreme Cheapskates as she shared her tips to achieve a makeover on a budget.

The brunette said that some women spend hundreds of dollars on themselves to prepare for a romantic night.

However, she said that she's managing to do it while watching her pennies too.

Apple, who is from the US, said: “I plan to put the spark back in our relationship by surprising Vic with a romantic evening.

“I’m going to go all out with my full-on body makeover.

“The typical lady spends hundreds of dollars in the salon doing their hair or waxing. But I’m going to find a way to spend under $100 (£71.34) for my makeover.”

Apple is then seen heading to her local charity shop to find some sexy lingerie for her romantic evening.

She is seen rummaging around the rails of used underwear.

Admitting it's an unusual place to shop for underwear, Apple says: “Buying lingerie in a thrift store is a great way to spice things up in the bedroom.

“Some people think shopping at a thrift store for lingerie is gross, but I don’t see anything wrong with it.”

She then heads to the changing room where she's seen smelling some knickers.

Apple is heard saying: “I wonder how many people have worn this thong before. It looks a little crusty too.”

She tries on three different outfits as she shocks other shoppers by marching out to check herself out in the shop floor mirrors.

After getting some advice from other customers, she decides to buy black babydoll, but there’s just one problem - the cost of it.

Apple tells the clerk that $2.99 (£2.13) is ‘out of her price range’, as she bargains for a dressing gown also, which was originally $3.99 (£2.85).

She asks: “If I buy both would you lower the price for me?”

The shocked clerk replies: “We really don’t do that.”

However, after she claims the lingerie will ‘save her marriage’, she finally gets $2 (£1.43) off.

As well as the new outfit, Apple also heads to a salon to get her hair done and her legs waxed - but on a budget of course.

She tells the therapist: “So I bought my own waxing supplies, so can you make it $30 (£21.40) if I use the strips.”

The shocked staff member tells her she booked a $65 (£46.37) appointment, but Apple manages to convince her to lower the price.

She also takes her own weave for her hair - telling the unimpressed stylist that she'll "just pay the service fee".

After that, she haggles over some lipgloss in a local store, however they store clerk refuses. They do offer her some free perfume samples though.

All in all, Apple is left happy that she’s got her hair, makeup and new outfit sorted for just $85 (£60.64).

She says of her night ahead: “I’m going to remind him why we got married in the first place.”
