What do you guys think of this?

I can honestly understand the guy being scared but once police pull guns on you basically just have to do as your told. They're not going to back down.

On the other hand, they honestly didn't have any legitimate right to pull their guns in the first place. The guy did nothing wrong.

I don't have sound at work, so I can't hear the audio, so this will be just my general feelings on a traffic stop by the police. If you are ever stopped by the police for anything, whether you think you have done anything wrong or not, you follow their instructions (within reason). Whether you are stopped by a 'good' cop or a 'bad' cop, anytime you don't do what you are told, you are running the risk of escalating the situation. With that said, just because the police are stopping you and telling you what to do, that doesn't make them right in what they are doing. But escalating the situation at that time is not the way to go, especially if there is going to be video evidence to back up your claims at a later date. Just do what you are told, try and minimize the confrontation as much as possible, and then if at the end of everything if you have a legal case against the police, then you get yourself a good lawyer and sue.

But at the time of the stop, trying to escalate the situation with the cops, ESPECIALLY if they have their guns drawn, is just always going to end badly for you.

I agree. It's total humiliation and stupid but he should have got out of the vehicle, knelt down and put his hands behind his neck, just like a criminal. Then sort out the rest of the stuff later.

He got a bad cop but a worse one could have even shot him.

By the way I thought it was a smart move to keep driving until he got to a service station. Bright lights and cameras.

"I thought I would just drive until we reached a well lit area" is absolutely fucking stupid. I guess I shouldnt be surprised that you miss this most obvious thing was what caused all of this, instead of him just pulling over when signaled by the cops. The only time you can really get away with driving a little bit is if you're in mad traffic and wait for that upcoming side street to pull off on - but even at that, you're pushing it if its too far. I thought I put your stupid ass on block so I wouldnt have to read idiotic shit like this, why did it not take.

This was brilliant. I thought it wasn't so relevant to this thread, but actually most of it is The Monk

lol ok, let us all know what happens next time you get pulled over and you go for a joyride looking for a properly lit area, its not like the cops dont have a million fkn lights on their cars to lights yours up with so they can see wtf they are dealing with. cuz its all about what you, the person getting pulled over, can see - not the cops doing their jobs wondering why this fuckin asshole isnt pulling over, what are we going to have to deal with this time.

how many times have we been over the "dont provoke/piss off the cops" thing here? not pulling over and deciding that you're just going to keep driving until you find an area where you're comfortable pulling over is provoking a bad response from the cop right from the getgo. its one thing if you're driving an extra hundred yards until the street lights begin, but every second you keep driving when a cop is behind you with their lights on, the likelihood of a bad cop response goes up significantly. are you disputing this or something

so in other words, a cop dealing with a suspect who is 99% likely to have just fired a weapon, that you're going after - should experience no fog of war whatsoever and stay 100% calm and proceeding meticulously as if time can be frozen :ok:

give it a rest, you lunatic  If a cop gets worked up as easily as that then its a wise move not to stop somewhere dark.

 :ok: just telling you how it is in the real world, mang...saying its perfectly reasonable to wait for a well lit area to pull over simply isnt well thought out advice in the least
