Everyone loves to treat themselves to a juicy burger every now and again.

But would you manage to eat a burger that was a hefty 5kg?

Well one man has done just that after conquering the Khartoum Hotel 5kg Burger Challenge.

The Australian bloke manage to do what 55 others who have also tried the challenge haven't, by completing the huge meal.

Food lover James had to devour the $60 (£34) burger, which weighs 5kg, in under 30 minutes to complete the challenge.

And he not only did that, but he also even managed to fit in dessert, according to a post on the pub's Facebook page, ordering a serving of cheesecake for afters.

James demolished the monster burger in just 25 minutes and 37 seconds - which made him the first to beat the clock and earn a place on the 'Legends Board' at the pub.

Talking about the triumph on it's Facebook, The Kitchener Hotel wrote: "Our Khartoum Hotel Burger Challenge has attracted an absolutely amazing amount of interest not only locally but nationally and globally since we launched it onto market.

"Challengers, and there have been 55, have come from a very wide area to take it on with varying results.

"We have said from day one that it is a challenge and there to be beaten and that out there is Super Burger Muncher/Destroyer that will do just that."

James has earned himself a tasty $650 (£363) in prize money for completing the challenge.

The overall prize money for the eventual winner had slowly been going up every time someone failed the challenge, meaning James earned himself a tasty $650 (£363) in prize money for his victory.

The prize money has now been reset to $100 (£56) for the next challenger.

The pub added: "Our Legends Board is off to the sign writers to get the first name added. All of us here at the Khartoum Hotel @ Kitchener are so excited that we have our first winner."

Future winners will have to come in under 25 minutes and 37 seconds to break James' record.

Meanwhile if you fancy a somewhat smaller burger, McDonald's has announced it is slashing the prices of Big Macs for Bank Holiday Monday if you're using it's app.

These guys eat like monsters too, every time I see these challenges people eat the burger one layer at a time so you don't even get the real burger experience
