A Florida high school made edits to 80 yearbook pictures, adding clothes onto photos of female students without their consent, reports said.

Bartram Trail High School is getting slammed by parents after editing pictures for what the district claims are students “out of dress code,” the St. Augustine Record reported.

“I think it sends the message that our girls should be ashamed of their growing bodies, and I think that’s a horrible message to send out to these young girls that are going through changes,” mom Adrian Bartlett told the Record.

A photo of Bartlett’s daughter was changed to add more covering to her chest area, according to the publication. Most of the edits added clothing to chest and shoulders, reports said.

And the editing is not high-quality Photoshopping. Parents say the alterations are so obvious that students are making jokes about them.

“There’s a black box over my chest and the cardigan on the side is like moved over and it looks really awkward and I was very confused,” freshman Riley O’Keefe told News4Jax.

Bartram Trail reserves the right to digitally adjust pictures, the district reportedly said, and it opted to alter the pics rather than leave them out of the yearbook.

“The dress code guidelines are in our student code of conduct, but enforcement of the dress code happens at the school level and differs from administration to administration,” a district spokesperson said, according to News4Jax.

The yearbook sold for $100 each, the TV station said.

The high school faced a local controversy earlier this spring over its dress code, which parents said unfairly targets female students.
