Police are hunting for a masked suspect after a middle-aged man was approached by strangers, dragged into bushes and raped.
A victim aged in his 50s said he was approached by two strangers as he walked along a residential street in Southampton late on Saturday.
One of the men then raped him in an overgrown area nearby, detectives said.
Hants Police has released a description of the suspects in a public appeal for witnesses help to track them down.
The force said sometime between 9.30pm and 10.15pm on May 22, the victim was approached by two men unknown to him as he walked along Somerset Avenue, then dragged into overgrowth and raped by one of the pair.
The rape suspect is described as white, skinny, measuring about 6ft-1"-2" tall, aged between 20 to 30, and dressed totally in black in a hooded top, black mask or 'snood' and a black rucksack.
The suspect is described is having a local accent, Hants Police said.
Officers did not have a physical description of the second man, however he was described as having a local accent.
A statement said: "We would like to hear from anyone who was in the area of Exford Avenue or Somerset Avenue between 9.30pm and 10pm on Saturday 22 May.
"Did you see anything suspicious? Did you see anyone matching the descriptions above?
"The victim is being supported by specialist officers and an investigation is underway."
Officers are carrying out increased patrols in the area and anyone with concerns following the incident is being encouraged to speak to one of them.
