A 21-year-old man in Ohio, who self-identified as an ‘incel, or involuntary celibate,’ was charged Wednesday for allegedly plotting a mass "slaughter" of women at a university in Ohio, prosecutors said.

Fox 19 reported that Tres Genco is accused of conducting surveillance at an unnamed university in Ohio on Jan. 15, 2020, and on the same day he searched "planning a shooting crime" and "when does preparing for a crime become an attempt?"

The station pointed out that investigators say they uncovered a manifesto that claimed he would kill "out of hatred, jealousy and revenge." The New York Times reported that prosecutors said Genco was part of an online group of "incels," who blame women for denying them sexual intercourse.

The Times, citing the Justice Department, reported that Genco faces up to life in prison if convicted because he was charged with attempting to commit a hate crime to kill. His public defender did not immediately respond to an after-hours email from Fox News.

The Justice Department’s statement points to a 2014 shooting committed by a self-identified incel named Elliot Rodger, who killed six people and injured 14 others outside a sorority house at the University of California, Santa Barbara, before killing himself.

Genco frequently posted on an incel website in 2019 and 2020. In one post, he wrote that he had used a squirt gun to spray "foids" in the face with orange juice, something Rodger had done before the Santa Barbara killings, prosecutors said.

Local police searched Genco’s home in March 2020 and found a firearm with an attached bump stock — which allows it to be rapidly fired — a pistol, loaded ammunition magazines, boxes of ammunition and body armor.

He also faces a gun charge that could be punishable by up to 10 years’ imprisonment, Fox 19 reported.

He will remain in custody until a detention hearing on Friday.

Did they get his FBI handler, too? Or is that guy just another "unnamed witness/co-conspirator" that wont be charged because he's with the FBI?

A sex-deprived man could spend the rest of his life in prison after he plotted to kill 3,000 women at a college in the US.

Tres Genco wrote out a gruesome manifesto where he revealed his plan to kill thousands of women at the unnamed Ohio university "out of hatred, jealousy and revenge", calling death the "great equaliser" - court documents said.

On the same day he penned the manifesto, he also searched online for sororities at the college.

Genco, who self-identifies as an "incel" (involuntarily celibate), pleaded guilty to planning the mass shooting on Tuesday (October 11).

From July 2019 to mid-March 2020, the 22-year-old had been an active member of an online community of similarly disgruntled men who, according to prosecutors, "seek to commit violence in support of their belief that women unjustly deny them sexual or romantic attention to which they believe they are entitled".

Investigators found a note written by Genco, stating he planned to “aim big” with a goal of killing 3,000 female victims, the New York Post reported.

In the same note he made reference to the date of a now-infamous 2014 University of California shooting performed by another self-identifying incel, Elliot Rodger.

The brutal killing, known as the Isla Vista massacre, saw six killed and 13 more injured outside a sorority house in Santa Barbara before the shooter turned the gun on himself.

Officials claim in 2019 Genco bought tactical gloves, a bulletproof vest, a hoodie emblazoned with the word "revenge", cargo pants, a Bowie knife, a skull face mask, two Glock 17 magazines, a 9mm Glock 17 clip and a holster - now believed to be in preparation for his intended massacre.

In December 2019, he signed up for Army basic training and was discharged.

Just a month later in January 2020, he "conducted surveillance" at an Ohio university before scouring the internet in preparation for the killing - searching "planning a shooting crime" and "when does preparing for a crime become an attempt?".

Prosecutors claimed later that month that Genco penned a document he named "Isolated" and described as "the writings of the deluded and homicidal". Signing off the document, he wrote: "Your hopeful friend and murderer."

Cops raided Genco's home on March 12, 2020.

They found a Glock-style 9mm semiautomatic pistol, with no manufacturer’s marks or serial number, stashed in a heating vent in his bedroom.

Police found another gun, along with numerous loaded magazines, body armour and boxes of ammunition, inside the boot of the man's car.

Genco pleaded guilty to one count of attempting to commit a hate crime.

A sentencing date has not yet been set, but his crime carries a maximum sentence of life in prison.
