ELIZABETHTON, TN – According to reports, a 10-year-old girl was lured over to a home by her teenage neighbors under the false pretense of wanting to play with her.

However, the girl was instead beaten and held captive for approximately 5 hours, with the teens’ mother allegedly filming her daughters beat the young girl.

While the two teenage juveniles have been arrested, authorities have not yet arrested the mother who allegedly filmed the beating.

On July 19th, 10-year-old Callie came home to her mother, Brittany, “covered in blood and severely beaten”, according to a Facebook post the girl’s mother shared days after the incident. Callie’s mother shared the details of her daughter’s traumatic experience, which reads like a nightmare for any parent of a young child:

“That morning, Callies so-called “friends” knocked on our door and asked if SHE COULD COME PLAY. This was something that they did every single day for the past six months. We are also their neighbors.

As soon as she had walked in their apartment, she had realized that something was wrong.”

“From 7:30 am until 12:27 pm my daughter Callie was held hostage in their pantry, dragged to multiple rooms and beaten.

She had been struck all over her face/head/body by their fists, and multiple objects by multiple TEENAGERS. Callie was sprayed with bleach and humiliated.”

What’s most disturbing about the account of what happened to the 10-year-old girl was that the teenage suspects allegedly behind the brutal attack were not alone in their home, as the suspects’ mother was there too – allegedly filming this child being tortured:

“The acts were all recorded by their mother who did nothing to stop it. Multiple videos of the assault were shared to social media such as Snapchat and Tiktok. They made Callie clean up her own blood afterwards and taunt her about bleeding on them.

Many other details and physical evidence was collected by officers on video and in pictures. What happened was traumatizing.”

The Elizabethton Police Department came under intense scrutiny over the incident due to the fact that they’d responded to the victim’s home on the day of the incident but didn’t enact any arrests until four days afterward on July 23rd.

Elizabethton Police reportedly arrested the two juveniles allegedly behind the attack, which they’ve been charged with especially aggravated kidnapping and aggravated assault.

However, members of the community are still particularly irate over the fact that the mother who allegedly filmed Callie’s beating has not been arrested.

Various social media accounts online, as well as sources close to the family of the victim, have claimed that the juvenile suspects’ mother is a 35-year-old woman by the name of Theresa Delgado.

While officials have yet to confirm the aforementioned, no contradictory statements to the effect have been released either.

The victim’s mother’s Facebook post did note that her neighbors were served an eviction notice from the apartment complex where they reside.

On the Elizabethton Police Department’s Facebook page, there are repeated calls in the comments section of their post highlighting the investigation into the incident that are asking why the suspects’ mother has not been arrested yet.

Some of the comments are as follows:

“Y’all better be charging the mother who recorded the event and laughed in the videos too. She’s just as guilty. Charge the mother too or you will see a lot of people outside her door who still live by the “eye for an eye” code of conduct.”

“Pretty sure the mother who not only allowed this to happen but also participated isn’t a juvenile. At the very least she should already be sitting in a cell.”

“I can’t understand why the teens mother hasn’t already been arrested? She’s not a juvenile and she participated in the hellish acts done towards this innocent child.”

“How is the adult who participated in the abuse not considered a suspect? These allegations are very serious and should have required prompt attention. This little girl deserves justice and this family should not be living in fear of their neighbors— Why has the apartment community responded faster to this situation than your department? I beg you to please ask for help from another department if you need it, Chief Shaw.”

“If this child was held against her will with an adult present why hasn’t the person been charged with kidnapping?”

“This is just shameful there is photo evidence and they’re walking free. Do better. She could have been killed so easily and a grown adult recorded it all and it’s on social media? DO BETTER.”

“This is insane, and sick! Arrest that woman for allowing this to happen and participating in such disgusting and horrible acts against that little girl!!!! The investigation can continue while she’s in a jail and those little terrorists children are with dcs!!!!”

Needless to say, members of the community are – rightfully – upset and frustrated.

Police have offered no additional details outside of sharing the arrests of the two teenage juveniles.

This is a developing investigation.
