Yes. They should have left the US army in control of Kabul, then civilians withdraw, then army.

I think we can all agree it's a humiliating cock-up. It takes time to work out the granting of refugee visas for ex-reporters, translaters, their families etc.

Yeah. How could they know so little after 20 years, not to have contingencies for this possibility. ( I'm not just blaming US here.)

We own the bulk of it, but yes it was an international agreement.

The Taliban has stated they will hold position and allow civilians to leave. Not sure if that was good faith or not considering we have 5000 plus military entering.

We never learn.

Just wait for all the terrorists that Biden has been allowing to cross through the southern border with the refugees and then used our military to distribute around the country start attacking us from within. Biden is probably arming these cells as well.

As I said in another thread and agreeing with the above comments, it is Vietnam all over again.

Trump is calling for Biden's resignation for allowing it to happen but Trump was the one that tried to broker a deal with the Taliban, you cannot deal with rabid fanatics.

These rabid fanatics are also hypocrites, decrying modernisation and western values while making full use of the same.
