Legalized Sports Gambling

Does anyone here gamble on sports (if you live in a state where it's been legalized)? Colorado was one of the first states to legalize it here in the last few years (not counting Nevada and New Jersey of course) and ever since it's been legal, seems like every other ad, whether it's on TV, billboards, radio, podcasts, you name it, it's for the sports gambling apps.

I haven't tried it yet because I think it would become too easy to become addicted, especially with all the introductory offers they dangle to try and get you to sign up. I mean it would be really easy to start with only a few bucks here and there to graduating to spending a LOT on gambling, especially with the app right on your phone and having instant access.

They are smothering us in gaming app commercials in my state right now... This cant be good for people with control issues.. You can literally lose your months mortgage with a few clicks on one of these stupid things..

Like I said above, basically every other advertisement you see or hear in Colorado is for sports gambling apps. You can't avoid it.

It used to be that you couldn't bet on a single line for sports betting in BC, you had to make at least 3 bets (I'm not sure the history of that, it was weird) but it's legal now.

Frankly I don't understand sports gambling, and I don't want to know because I think it would get too tempting to throw $20 here and there and become hooked :lol: I don't have an addictive personality but with the betting apps it seems a little too easy.

I don't know what app they use but I have a couple buddies who went deep down the rabbit hole of sports gambling. Started with NFL bets, next thing they knew they were betting on obscure table tennis competitions in South Africa at 1 in the morning :lol: They're fine, they were betting small amounts, but I think I'll steer clear. I have vices already thanks.

Not really. I don't bet large amounts. I hit a 4 team MLB parlay last night that paid 11-1. two dogs two favorites.

Okay, I can see why these gambling apps can be bad for some people. Since I've signed up, I've had 3 different push notifications from the app trying to get me to place more bets, even though I still have two pending for this upcoming weekend. If you had an addictive personality or you were a gambling addict, these could be very bad for you. And you can gamble on just about anything with these sports books.

I made an initial $25 deposit and then got the 6 free $25 wagers (kinda deceptive advertising saying you get $150 in free wagers but only putting the fact that it's in 6 $25 increments in the small print). No idea if I will keep doing this after the initial $25 is gone plus when I use up the free wagers.
