A prudish man has demanded that a large pizza chain change what he calls sexually suggestive wording on their sauce bottles.

Adrian Shann, 31, went to a Pizza Hut for the first time on Wednesday evening and was taken aback by a ketchup bottle's labelling which featured the strapline "Shake, Squeeze and Squirt".

Mr Shann, from Hull, thinks this is overly sexual and added that he was particularly concerned because the chain's stores often host kids and families for meals, HullLive reported.

"It's not innocent in my eyes," said Adrian, a hairdresser.

"The barbecue sauce one said 'Squeeze', but the ketchup one said that [the full strapline], it put me off using it.

"It literally sounds like an app for swingers. I do not understand how someone could put that sentence together, it's awful."

Adrian went on: "It is because of the chain's marketing aimed at children that I am worried."

He said there was a family group eating at the Pizza Hut store in Clive Sullivan Way at the same time as him.

"The adults had a laugh and then the children were asking their parents to tell them about it," he said.

"If I had my niece with me, I would be worried. It's definitely not appropriate."

Adrian was adamant that the branding "is not innocent".

In contrast, the recently opened takeaway in Princes Avenue, The Food Hub, which seemingly imitates the logo of the world's largest porn site, Pornhub, did not worry him as much.

"They're just a takeaway, it doesn't have so many kids in," he said.

The 'Shake, Squeeze and Squirt' tomato ketchup label has been a feature of Pizza Hut stores since at least 2019.

"I think they were all laughing when they created it," he said.

"It's not hidden, it's on the tables.

"They need to make it kid-friendly. I hope they change it."

Pizza Hut was approached for comment.

Like I've said before, there are people that just spend their days actively looking for things to be "offended" by. It's their whole life.
