Look, I have absolutely no issue with people with opposing viewpoints, in fact I enjoy having good debates about topics. But unfortunately they almost always seem to devolve into shouting/name calling matches. You know the kind of liberal I enjoy and who I miss? Deepsepia. Even though I rarely agreed with anything he said, I though he was a genuine and really good guy. And he always kept things civil.

Just to be clear, the above comment was directed at the " we would need some extremists too" part of your post, I'd love to have a few more libs and some more folks from outside the US in general. As long as it's kept civil, all are welcome. Hell, if we get enough moderates together maybe we can solve all the worlds problems.
