The Following and why I am unfollowing...

Joe has Ryan tied up and they talk about killing each other..

Joe - I can no more kill you than you can me...

really? Hardy is the only reason Joe comes close to getting caught...he has him tied up, no witnesses and can leave and go where ever he wants after killing Ryan..

and he walks away...and Joe's little satan message, ffs he was even dressed in black...looked like a fkn cape

I can't unfollow, too much time invested in the series, and I have to see where it goes

But, the stupidity of the characters is overwhelming...Claire outting herself to the attention seeking reporter after being in hiding for over a year, then getting the reporter to put the message on TV so that Joe knows she's alive. Why waste that year in witness protection FFS?

Ryan going to the compound all by himself with no phone or any kind of support? Really? One person against who knows how many people?

I have to say I did like the scene where Mike killed Lily...I thought he wasn't gonna do it at first, but glad he did and that was the best scene (the one that felt most realistic) in the whole episode last night

Fargo part 1

It's a 10 part miniseries on FX, I went into it with very low expectations but decided to give it a go on a referral from Dad. He was right, I really enjoyed it! Kinda a slow paced show but Billy Bob Thornton very likely will be winning awards if the first episode is any indication. Definite recommendation.

I guess I had two issues with last night's episode....and one of the issues is the ongoing one we talked about before: the stupidity of Claire. :| What a dumb fucking bitch she is. If there are two choices to make, one completely smart and obvious and the other utterly stupid, she ALWAYS chooses stupid. In the real world, she would be long since dead.

The other issue last night that REALLY bothered me had to do with the twins. How did they know to show up at that inn where Claire went to? They didn't see the news broadcast, and even if they had, they wouldn't have known what any of it meant. They didn't know where Joe and Emma went and they didn't even know that Claire was alive, so how did they magically manage to show up at the right place at the right time? :|

But in news that made me happy last night....THAT BITCH EMMA IS FINALLY FUCKING DEAD!!!

more Following spoilers...

It sometimes amazes me how you think exactly the same way as I do

Claire - Hides out in witness protection for year, pretends she's dead to protect her son. First mention of Joe and it's - HEY! HERE I AM, COME KILL ME!

The twins - I actually rewatched 15 minutes to see what I missed regarding how they found her....there was no connection. How Claire even found Emma and that other dude was beyond me...

Emma - I high fived myself when she took her last breath.

I can understand how Claire needs to see Joe die to get complete closure. But ffs, let someone else kill him, cut off his head and burn the body in front of you. They should have done that with Emma too. If it was me in a fight with any one of those lunatics, I would cut off the head with a fork if I had to...and then claim they fell on it

Claire didn't find Emma, it was the other way around. Claire was going to that inn hoping that her message would draw him there because that's where he proposed to her. Emma and that other dude were there staking the place out for Joe, because he knew that's where Claire would go.

I just hope that next week they make it at least semi-plausible as to how the twins ended up there. I'm willing to suspend belief to a point for TV/movies, but I have my limits. Because from all accounts, there is NO WAY the twins should have known about that inn, about where Claire was, or where Joe and Emma and the merry band of crazies went off to.

I hope that gunshot at the end of the episode wasn't Mike getting killed, he's my favorite character on the show :(

capsule comments/review for what appeared to be the season ender...

1. When they all arrived at the house, I was excited.
2. On the doorstep before Joe and Ryan walked in, Ryan had the gun and the advantage. Shoot Joe in both legs, drag him in.
3. They find Claire in a room with a door. For the love of Pete, step out of the room after rescuing her. There were 3 psychopaths on the premises.
4. Once Mike and Max started shooting and entered the house, they should have not stopped shooting until the above mentioned 3 people were swiss cheese.
5. Hardy should have shot Joe. The entire season was about not looking over your shoulder and a sense of security for Ryan and Claire.
6. Joe has escaped from prison twice and returned from the dead once. See above.
7. Ryan will get a video text 6 months from now, of Joe with Claire's head on a stick while he does a mildly entertaining ventriloqist's schtick. See above.
8. Redemption of your soul, revenge, doing the right thing < peace of mind/security for life. If one person deserves to die horribly on that show, it is Joe.
9. How the hell do you sleep knowing that one of the psychopath Olsen twins is wandering out there using his dead brother as a security blanket. See 5, 6 and the last phrase of 7.
10. For me, the best episode of the season. Unfortunately I watched the writers manipulate each scene down to the blocking, to ensure at least 2 bad guys lived and all of the good people. See Breaking Bad for tips on how to kill main characters in a manner that makes sense and doesn't insult a 5 year old's......dog.

I do also think this was the best episode of the season and for the most part I was happy with it except for a few things:

1) They still didn't explain how the twins found out about the inn where Claire was which allowed them to kidnap her after Emma was dead. That actually bugs me A LOT because if you go back and watch the previous episode, there is NO WAY the twins should have known about the place since the only people that knew about it were Joe and Claire.

2) I'm actually okay with Ryan letting Joe live at the end and get arrested to be sent back to prison.

3) Completely agree with your take on them finding Claire tied up in that little room with only one exit. They seemed to be in no rush even though there were two homicidal and crazy twins roaming the house

4) I wanted Ryan to shoot Claire in the face when she 'broke up with him' after all the shit he did to save her sorry ass. What a complete and total bitch.

5) So glad that Emma is actually dead. I was almost worried that it was going to be some kind of fake out like last season when we thought Joe died in the explosion.

6) I was sincerely surprised when Joe's follower caught up with him and Hardy and ran them off the road....and Joe killed him and saved Ryan. I'm still trying to figure out the motive on that. I guess the only thing I can think of is that Ryan never told Joe exactly where they were going?

7) I'm okay with all the people that survived, they killed off a fair amount of characters this season, although none of them were the 'major' characters.

8) Who was driving the truck that picked up the crazy pants twins? :-k

1) My wife was saying the same thing, only explanation I could come up with was the mother had said they had a lot of "resources" but still
8) That was my question, I couldnt think of anyone who we should all ready know about

I guess the person at the end picking him up was meant to be a tease...I can't think of who it would be in that world tho..

For me, not killing Joe was a cop out to keep the series going. Both Ryan and Claire have been stalked, hunted, haunted by the guy and I agree with what she said earlier - I have to kill him and see he's dead for myself to move on. I can understand her character saying that.....but then again, not much a show if he does die. James Purefoy is a good actor IMO

I like it, kinda slow paced but Billy Bob Thornton steals the show. He just spends the whole time either killing or fucking with people. It's only a 10 part miniseries and we're 3 episodes in.

I've got a couple of Fargo and another series called Salem to watch....they both look good from the previews

Morgan Spurlock's Inside Man (CNN): Big Data.

Holy shit. Those tinfoil hat wearing bastards have every right to be crazy about privacy. You wouldn't believe the shit companies and the government have on all of us.

And I paraphrase: If people in this country really knew what was going on with their personal data, there would be an uprising so fierce, it would bring about the second American Revolution.

That little strip mall is right by where I work  I kid you not...of all the locations they could have used, they picked one 4 blocks from my warehouse.

On the far right is a Subway and a Loonie Store (dollar store) I go to quite often. The grocery store is called Family Foods. Remember the Saigon sign to the right and the other red sign, that's a bar/restaurant...I'll take a pic next time I go there.
