Watched the first episode of the new Netflix series WWII In Colour: Road to Victory. Amazing footage as always. The history is overly simplified but I can live with that.

My main complaint is that the narrator is insufferable, just an awful weird high voice. I was tempted to watch it in German with English subs... really set the mood, ya know?

You have to start from the beginning.. Some of it is hokey and does a little virtue signaling, but it's a good story.. About halfway through Season 2 shit got real fkn dark.. I'm gonna take a few days off from watching it right now.. It's stressing me out.

Here's a good summation.. It's the first paragraph of a review.

"There’s no getting around the first part of this: This is a post about how to watch Yellowstone, even though Yellowstone is a show I can’t exactly recommend you or anyone else watch. Nevertheless it is a show I do watch, and so do at least 8 million other people, and because you’re reading this, it’s likely a show you watch too."

Not that it should matter, but on the weekends I'm up between 3:30 and 4 to deal with all the dogs so everyone else can sleep in a bit and once I'm up, I can't go back to sleep. So I watch a few hours of TV when I have the downstairs to myself before anyone else gets up, and in the evenings, the wife and I watch an episode of something before we turn in for bed.

Did he end up stuck in the other dimension or did he actually go back in time after he rescued her?

It's an open ended question that's set to be explored in a season 2... if it gets renewed.

It looks like Dan went back in time to Melody's time in the 1990s to just after Visser burned down, but did he? He certainly missed the opportunity to go back to his time with Melody through the portal Melody's mother was holding open. So if he's actually in the 90s, then he must have jumped through another portal leading to that time, but where's the portal? Did he actually find another one? Or is he still stuck in the Other World with Kalego?

Also, if Samuel pulled Melody through the portal, and they went through together, then where the hell did he come out on the other side? He didn't end up coming out with Melody, so where (or when) the hell is he?

I was really disappointed in the whole battle scene. Seriously, was their entire strategy to hide in a burned out bar and let the baddies control the whole fight?

Did Disney go Woke and hire a bunch of inexperienced writers for this series? The first two seasons of the Mandalorian were so much better.

That's what they did. I didn't see the tactical advantage, either. Somebody needs to read some war strategy books. I was seriously disappointed with the way they treated Boba Fett and Cad Bane. It's like they treated Bane as an afterthought. He should've been a main villain that lasted two to three seasons, running around and tearing junk up, and building up to a final showdown... and surviving. He's just way too cool of a character in the expanded universe and animated series to just cast aside. And they completely altered Boba Fett's character.

Disney's been woke. You could see it in the Marvel junk they've been putting out starting with Captain Marvel and Black Panther.

I think these spinoff series have relatively escaped the wokeness. It's funny just a follow up from my comment, I came across this article. They are blaming this particular director for f****** things up. I agree. Some episodes were clutzyly thrown together, others were great.

I can tolerate actors only hired for whatever "boxes" they check to a certain extent, my complaint comes in when the storyline is just stupid. Don't know how much that's the director or others.

Seriously though, In the Mandalorian they took a bunch of farmers and beat back the baddies and a Walker with one days training and strategy. Here we have experienced fighters and their only strategy is to clump together, hide and run away. FFS they should have had the high ground, set a couple traps at least. If not simply go on the offensive. Did the writer let his 8 year old little girl write the scene?

Ha. Yeah, I went through picking on everything in the episodes ( see below). It's actually pretty much the same writer throughout, so that's why I thought it might be the directing. Because they can decide pretty much everything, what to emphasise, what to omit.

But yeah, it was just a kind of a dumb episode :dunno:

Boba Fett ep 3

Hm. Did you contemplate things like...:-k

How did a 9 foot Wookie get into the palace and into Fett's private quarters unnoticed?

How did a bikie gang that Boba beat up singlehandedly kill an entire Tusken enclave?

A million dollar car chase to capture...wait for it, some half-baked Domo Major?

The Jabba scene at the end was pretty stupid?

It's because Voyager is old now....hard to believe but it was last on the air 21(!) years ago. Back in the day before streaming and when networks invested time and money into 20+ episode seasons. But sadly you're right, now most series are 12 episodes or less now. There are still some holdouts with ≈20 episodes, but that number keeps dwindling.

Honestly, I have no problem with the look or demeanor of the character. Cavill played it pretty true to type, as Geralt was in the books and the video games. I don't know about the whole Fabio thing, as far as I can remember, Fabio was a more romantic type of character. Geralt was written by the author to be more like the Man With No Name type of guy. Imagine Clint Eastwood wielding medieval weapons instead of guns, and you've got Geralt. A typical adult male type of fantasy hero.

If I recall correctly, you're not the biggest fan of fantasy, right? Maybe you went into it looking for it to be shit and were highly critical of it right out of the gate?
