Demi Lovato is making drastic appearance changes once again.
The former Disney Channel star debuted a shaved head to Instagram on Christmas day, which is the latest in a long line of surprising changes this year. Lovato has become an outspoken advocate for destroying “heteronormative thinking” after coming out as non-binary and changing to they/them pronouns in May of this year.
The Christmas day post of Lovato’s shaved head came with the caption, #freshstart. Photos showed the “Sorry Not Sorry” composer standing in front of a snowy backdrop. Earlier this year, Lovato debuted a super-short pixie style haircut, but the head-shaving goes one step further.

Lovato dropped an album for the first time in four years earlier in 2021. “Dancing with the Devil… the Art of Starting Over” came out in April just one month before the Disney Channel alum announced a non-binary status.
The pop star spoke to People in June about the change. “I really believe that when I overdosed in 2018, it was because I was ignoring my truth,” Lovato told the publication. “I went to such great lengths to suppress who I really am to fit this sexy, feminine pop star and actress image that others had assigned for me that I never truly identified with. I did it though because I thought that’s how it was supposed to be.”
Lovato went on to say, “how important it is to live your truth and not suppress yourself.”
“You can only carry on like that for so long before it comes spilling out and manifesting, sometimes negatively, in other ways,” the former child star added.
Since then, the singer has become involved in other surprising endeavors. The Daily Wire reported that Lovato recently encouraged followers to “be a slut” and make their own porn.
“Be a slut. Show your body. Get naked. Have all the safe, different, consensual sex you want. Be Kinky. Masturbate. Make/watch porn. Make money. … Just a reminder that being sexual is okay,” the star shared to social media.
Unsurprisingly, Lovato’s feelings about racial issues align with Leftist views as well.
In September 2020, Lovato discussed opinions about white privilege with Vogue, saying, “So here I am, sitting in a home that I was able to afford with the money that I have from singing, while people of color are fearing for their lives every day.”
The star continued: “I realized this was a lightning bolt jolting through my body, where I was reminded of my privilege. … All I knew was that I hated that I shared the same skin color as the people accused of committing heinous crimes against Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, George Floyd and many, many other Black lives.”
Lovato is also keenly interested in extraterrestrials, saying “aliens” is a derogatory term for beings from other planets. The Disney star has a TV series called “Unidentified With Demi Lovato” to discuss these issues.
