KAMIAH, Idaho (KBOI) — Police say a 58-year-old man tried to throw a container of meth into a riverbank during a traffic stop on Saturday, July 30.
According to the Idaho County Sheriff's Office, while on a routine patrol, a deputy stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. The driver got out of the vehicle and walked towards the riverbank and tried to throw something into the river.

The item bounced off a tree and did not go into the water. The item was later identified as a Tupperware container with half an ounce of methamphetamine.
The suspect, Brian Gilgert from Kamiah, was arrested for possession of methamphetamine, attempted destruction of evidence, driver in possession of an open container of alcohol, resisting and obstructing an officer and possession of paraphernalia.
