KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A Kansas City man has been charged in the fatal stabbing of his brother last week after an argument over the use of an oven.
Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker said in a news release that Aaron K. Winn, 38, was charged with second-degree murder and armed criminal action.
Kansas City police were called Thursday to the 6200 block of Tracy Avenue on a reported cutting. Officers found the victim, Karl Winn, on the front porch. He had a sword through his chest.
According to court records, Aaron Winn initially told detectives that his brother had committed suicide. He then told investigators that he had an argument earlier in the day with his brother over an oven being turned off while he was trying to cook a pizza.
Aaron Winn allegedly told detectives that he was unhappy with the victim's lack of ownership of what he classified as an "evil" wrongdoing regarding the oven, according to court documents.
Investigators said Aaron Winn showed officers a Facebook video in which he threatened to kill his brother.
Aaron Winn is being held on a $750,000 bond.
