NEWCASTLE, Wash. — Three teenagers and a 12-year-old suspected of carjacking were taken into custody after a police pursuit through Bellevue Tuesday morning.
The pursuit ended when three 14-year-olds abandoned the Dodge Charger they were in near the Coal Creek Trailhead off Lakemont in Newcastle, according to police.
Police took one of the teens into custody and then searched the wooded area off of Coal Creek Trail for the other individuals. At first, it was believed only three individuals were involved, but police have since confirmed there were four people.

Police said they found a 12 year old suspect near a separately reported stolen Hyundai Elantra on 167th Avenue SE in Bellevue.
"They located the stolen Hyundai Elantra, which had been abandoned. Moments later, a resident called, reporting a suspicious person in their backyard. Officers contacted the suspect, a 12-year-old male, and determined he was connected to the stolen car and arrested him," Bellevue Police officials said.
The individuals carjacked a person in the parking lot of LA Fitness in Renton at about 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, according to Renton police. The teens allegedly confronted a driver with a gun and took his keys and vehicle and drove off, police said.
Renton Police said the suspects had arrived to that scene in the Hyundai Elantra and then took the Dodge Charger, they said both vehicles then drove north.
The pursuit was authorized because the individuals were considered "armed and dangerous," according to police.

Bellevue police informed Renton authorities around 10 a.m. that they had located the vehicle involved in the carjacking.
Police said all of the remaining individuals in the Dodge Charger were eventually taken into custody in Newcastle.
Police got assistance from the King County Sheriff's Department helicopter to search for the people.
