A man striking a 60-year-old woman over 50 times with her own cane in a New York City subway station was caught on video last week, but no one intervened to help her.

NYPD officials told The New York Post that the attack occurred at approximately 3:30 am, when the woman was walking at the West 116 Street and Lenox Avenue station.

In the graphic two-minute video, the unidentified male attacked the elderly woman with an umbrella and the woman tried to fight him off with her cane, but he was able to grab her cane as she fell to the ground screaming.

The man then hit the woman with her own cane over 50 times all over her body including in the head, striking her so hard that the cane broke apart.

While on the ground on her back, the woman was eventually able to grab what was left of her cane from the man, who in response began hitting her in the head with his fist.

As he punches her, the man’s pants start falling down, revealing his bare buttocks on the video.

At the beginning of the video, you can hear observers commenting on the attack, but then the audio abruptly cuts out.

According to The Post, the unidentified male fled the scene before law enforcement arrived. The woman was rushed to a nearby hospital, where she is in stable condition. NYPD officials told the outlet that there were no reports of an arrest in the case and the investigation is ongoing.

This is what the digital age has done to people. There's no moral duty to help like there should be, just an opportunity to get reps online. People are sick.
