The Department of Homeland Security issued a memo urging Border Patrol agents to use migrants' preferred pronouns.

This memo, obtained by Heritage Foundation’s Oversight Project on Nov. 17, is described by its title “Guide to Facilitating Effective Communication with Individuals who Identify as LGBTQI+.” In it, DHS prompts its agents to avoid using titles like “Mr,” “Mrs,” “Sir,” or “Ma’am” in order to appeal to migrants' gender identities. It discourages any pronoun use "until you have more information about the individual."

“Keep in mind that gender identity (sense of self) and sexual orientation (attraction) are separate and distinct; hence, transgender people, for example, may identify as heterosexual, gay, lesbian, or bisexual,” the memo reads. “The terms and definitions in this job guide are not universal. Some LGBTQI+ individuals may define these terms differently.”

As a result of the Oversight Project releasing screenshots online, lawmakers responded to the guidance in various posts on X, formerly known as Twitter.

"Biden's disastrous open borders policy has resulted in a crisis of historic proportions, yet instead of locking-down the border, they focus on gendered language," Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL) wrote.

"By all means, let’s make sure that we coddle the people invading our country by not misgendering them as they come here against the laws of basic sovereignty," Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) wrote. "If this administration isn’t rock bottom for our country, I can’t imagine what that would look like!"

"Biden’s Department of Homeland Security is now demanding that CBP agents use the preferred pronouns of illegal aliens encountered at our border. I say they should focus on removing illegal aliens from our country first," Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ) wrote.

Meanwhile, Customs and Border Protection saw almost 241,000 immigrants attempt to cross the border at ports of entry in October, which was a decline from September's historic record of almost 270,000. Over 10 million immigrants have reportedly entered the country illegally since Biden took office. It is the most recorded in that amount of time of any administration.

The House successfully passed a bill to reduce Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas's salary over his handling of recent influxes in immigration. However, it is unlikely to pass the Senate as the chamber is controlled by a Democratic majority. Another attempt to impeach Mayorkas is also in the works within the House.

Good to see DHS focusing on the important things instead off the minor crap like preventing illegals and terrorists from flooding across the border
