You're entitled to your opinion. However, I disagree.

And how the hell would you know anything about the new one when it hasn't even been released yet?

Christopher Nolan is directing it

Just to add he's done 2 and a bit good films

Watched the first 40 minutes of TDKR at the cinema. It looked really good. Had to leave because my knees were painfully jabbing into the seat in front. It's an old theatre that opened in 1898 (Notting Hill Coronet (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Notting_Hill_Coronet)) and I wasn't even the tallest guy there so I can only imagine the pain others endured. I'll go and see the rest in a more comfortable cinema.

I dunno....this could have been better if THERE HADN'T ALREADY BEEN 3 FREAKING SPIDERMAN MOVIES ALREADY MADE.

Effects were good and it was a decent story, I just hate how all Hollywood can do anymore is rehash movies (and this franchise isn't even that old!) and then when they do, pretend none of the other films ever happened.

But, on the positive side, for the most part they cast the movie well, but that Andrew Garfield douchebag is no Tobey Maguire, that's for sure.

Fuck no, especially considering they rewrote the film. They don't even go to Mars in the remake FFS. And they broke a cardinal rule (in my book)...you don't remake an Arnold movie, not ever (along with a few other actors).

What's next, gonna do a Terminator remake? Or maybe a Predator remake? Maybe then they can tackle Stallone films and do a Rocky remake and a Rambo remake.

Nolan had absolutely no intention on continuing the already existing series from the late 80s and 90s. Neither did Sony with Spiderman... but yes, Garfield sucks and I still can't believe Emma Stone moved in with that asshat.

Loved it, thought it was excellent. For the most part it stayed pretty true to the book (at least as true as a book-to-movie adaptation will allow) until the end. They changed almost too much from the book IMHO but it was still a great film and the changes didn't really detract from the film itself.

I liked it because of the original script they stuck to... It was nice being able to clearly understand everyone's intent even though they were ignorant and greasy... Jeff Bridges.. Awesome. Matt Damon..awesome. I thought it was pretty good all in all. That being said I'm no huge John Wayne fan.. He was definitely before my time..

Loved it, thought it was excellent. For the most part it stayed pretty true to the book (at least as true as a book-to-movie adaptation will allow) until the end. They changed almost too much from the book IMHO but it was still a great film and the changes didn't really detract from the film itself.

Highly recommended

I thought it was ok, certainly not excellent...for a number of reasons. I'd recommend it only because it's a slow summer for movies.

*Goof I finally watched it

They used a number of cameras and only shot about 1/2 the movie in hand-held style. I liked the first Spanish movie in this series.....this one was more campy/gory and I didn't care for the explanation of the biting people. Good cheesy romp and the last 1/2 hour was one of my favorite endings to a movie

A number of things....first of all I haven't read the book (because Suzanne Collins wrote it ), not sure if that's a good thing or bad.

Okay - I like movies that don't explain too much about the inner workings of the world, this was one of them. They don't have characters spending 15 minutes explaining - This is why we said that or why we do that.

What I didn't like...

HUNGER GAMES SPOILERS

Where was the hunger? At no time did I get the sense that any of the contestants were in jeopardy from the elements, starvation or dehydration. It was a huge part of the movie, even down to Woody Harrelson's advice about avoiding the cornucopia and seeking high ground, finding water etc.

When Katniss was up the tree and the group of kids was beneath her, trying to kill her - They missed with a bow and arrows and had an expert knife thrower who could hit a small lizard in the dark. Couldn't hit or get at Kat when she was a whopping 20 feet up?

The overall look of the movie - I heard they spent millions on the budget...where? That could have been filmed 20 miles from me and certainly the limited CGI didn't account for the overall restrained OOOH, AHHH factor.

For being this awesome shot with a bow, Katniss missed 80% of her shots, until the end scene where she popped Kano in the shoulder or whatever...

The CGI headquarters for the environment. I liked the idea they could control the playing environment, but making fire and creatures from a blue frame computer template..that could hurt and interact with the players was a pretty big stretch...if they can do that why don't they use the tech to create food and coal for the poorer sections in the country?

Jennifer Laurence was a pretty bland actress for the part....yes she couldn't make friends easily but for the most part she looked tired and was restrained. Again...you're in a contest for your life....ACT LIKE IT

They made a big deal about Peter being able to throw large weights around....why? It didn't enter the story at all...

Woody was great..I assume he was a winner of the past? And now his role is to coach future players? A little bit of backstory there would have been nice...

The pacing - Moved right along to the games and then when the games started, it felt like it was just a matter of time before Kat won.

finally - for a movie about ultimate survival to the death against the elements and supposedly other players who were groomed to kill since birth...it felt more like a Hardy Boys camping trip.

Premise is simple, some bad guys take over an apartment building and kill cops who try to arrest people there. Then the cops decide to send in a SWAT-like unit to take down the kingpin.

Indonesian film that's half gun porn and half martial arts extravaganza. I haven't seen fighting like this since the 2008 film Chocolate. There's a few fight scenes in the hallways of the apartment building that made my jaw drop, as well as some great fighting near the end. There is a plot , but this is a full on testosterone-fest...send your wives out for groceries and just let the violence wash over you

Terribly disappointing...not nearly as good as any of the other three Bourne films

Ok, I just got back from seeing this and I wasn't as disappointed as you were.

I think the Bourne flicks and this Cross flick were two completely different scenarios that were being played out. Personally, I think this one played out well. Now the first half of the movie was a little dijointed with all the covert political talk with Ed Norton and Stacy Keach's characters, but it evened out in the end. It felt like you had to play catch up with them being introduced and seeing how they fit in the whole Treadstone/Blackbriar program stuff that already transpired in the last three films. But I do think it all came together. In my opinion, I think it's a good start to an alternate storyline within the same universe. I think if they could get Matt Damon back on board to playing Jason Bourne, they could get some really cool interweaving storylines.

For me, they should have called it something else, this film had no business being called a 'Bourne' film. Maybe reference Treadstone/Blackbriar in the title instead or something, but not Bourne.

For me, I actually liked the beginning, that part had me hopeful for it, but then it progressively got disappointing for me from there on out.

Also, the most 'action' in the whole film was the 18 hour and 34 minute chase scene towards the end that was waaaaaaaaaaaaay too drawn out. And IMHO opinion, the story was very weak, especially since they are playing it up as a part of the Bourne franchise. If it had been a stand alone film or they had opted not to call it a Bourne film, then maybe I wouldn't be so harsh in my criticism of it.

But hey, I'm glad you liked it...if we all liked the same things, the world would be kinda boring :)

Aside from them making a big deal about the majority getting killed by "natural causes" I though the "hunger" part was more about them having to put their names in more often when they took government food.

I agree with the conjuring of fire and animals, I didn't care for the last 15 minutes because of that.

I wanted to hate this and ended up liking it. The last hour is definitely better than the first. I had a high quality copy which was good because it had some decent effects. And the end brought out the patriot in me.

I've certainly watched worse sci-fi films and the tie in with the boardgame was well done IMO. Check your brain in at the door popcorn movie

I'm a third of the way through the book now...pretty much reads like a script for the movie so far  It has some cool parts like listing past Hunger Games themes and focuses a little more on the poverty/hunger of the district 12 people. That was another thing - They shouldn't cast someone like Jennifer L...who's about 15-20 lbs overweight in the film. Should of used Karen Carpenter or similar

Saw The Bourne Legacy over the weekend and we both enjoyed it. Car chases, motorcycle chases, roof top chases, stuff blowing up, shooting, what more could you want! Good story line too and left it open for more sequels.
We loved it.

We saw the Neil Young movie too.
We are both Neil Young fans and sat through it for that reason. Most of the time I was thinking WTF? I guess he doesn't have to please anybody but himself any more. It was kind of a documentary. He and his brother toured the village of Omemee in North Ontario (there is a town in north....) and there were videos of his concert in Toronto at Massey Hall. He played some old stuff from as far back as '69 (Ohio) and up to 2010.
Some of the new songs seemed to start out well but then just weirded out. And he seems to be into a big feedback phase.
In some parts, there was a camera mounted on the mic stand and if he was close to it, all you could see was his mouth or neck or chest. It was kind of bizzare.
If you aren't a Neil Young fan, you most likely won't like it at all.

My real Avengers review...

A classic summer popcorn movie...some humor, tons of action and the whole time the director somehow kept it a relatively intimate story about a group of freaks who come together to save the world.

I have to watch it again. The last hour had too much going on for my limited attention span

Beautifully filmed new take on the classic story. Kristen Stewart was somewhat more animated than in past performances, still don't buy her as the fairest one of all.Charlize Theron chews up scenery as the Queen, maybe Stewart should take some acting tips from a real star...

Even the cutesy bits were palatable, although when it was over I found it lacking in some non specific way. Definitely worth a watch though

Not sure which film Hal was watching, but this was feckin' awful. Too long and drawn out, not enough action and Stewart's facial expression was :| the entire film.

3 poison apples out of 10 (and that's only for the effects and cinematography, the rest of it was crap)

And just so you know it wasn't just me, the girlie hated it too and said I was being generous giving it a 3/10

It is beautiful in some ways and also the most horrific thing i think i have ever seen. It is also the most.. Fuck i feel like im welling up! I do not recomend this to everyone to watch, there are some that certainly shouldn't and is definatley not for children.
