My company is replacing phones - I currently have the BlackBerry Bold 9700 and it's ok

The replacement options are:
Blackberry Bold 9900
Blackberry Torch 9810
iPhone 4-16Gb
HTC Desire HD
Samsung Fascinate 4G

Anyone have any opinion which is better than the others?

I was leaning towards the HTC - but the battery life may be an issue

thanks in advance

i believe that battery issues are a problem with most smartphones these days ,my htc wildfire (a baby desire) will at the most get 2 days out of it but that a few calls and text and most things like wifi ,gps and bluetooth off

Bottom 2 as well, and I like that my nephew's HTC is virtually indestructable...he gave me his old one when he upgraded...I don't use it as a phone, but as a Wi-Fi device and even doing just that, it's feature-packed. So, I'd lean towards the HTC.

I personally can't imagine using a touch-screen phone for work. Writing emails would stink and as a company phone you may not even be able to enjoy fun aps anyways?

I'd chose the Bold 9900. It has a touchscreen and full keyboard in a very thin candybar design (11mm thick!!). Really cool phone. Battery life is excellent on Blackberry's too I've always found. My old Bold only gets charged a couple times a week and I'm on it all day checking mail and texting.

as for typing on a touch screen - i have been told that you get use to it and it's not that bad. I do type quite a bit currently on my BB. As for apps - I can do what I want - I just have to pay for it

I thought it would be weird typing on a touch screen, but it's not bad at all. I almost think it's easier than the physical keyboard on slide out phones

You turn the phone sideways and the keyboard is way bigger then the blackberry keyboard. Very easy to use. The samsung has the best screens in the business

I couldn't text with out it. Especially the new versions that are still beta though, are suuuper good! They have some new features to make it even easier and faster to use.

the speech to text on android isnt too bad. It gets most of the words right if you talk slow and clear

Why should you have to practice to use the feature on a phone? It either works well or it's shite.

So, any verdict yet MrsM? Have you picked a phone?

MrsM
09-29-2011, 01:18 PM
Yep - Got the iPhone4

I like it. The main reason was because I have not had an iphone before and wanted to know what the hype was about. I'll probably go android for my next device... but that will be in 2 yrs and we'll see what the market has then.

Thanks again for all the advice and opinions

I can upgrade to the 5 whe it comes out for $300 I think - but I'll probably just stay with the 4 :)

I have the Iphone 4. I didn't bother praising it here cause of the strong opposition. You'll enjoy it as I do mine.

Good Choice MrsM. I'm no h8ter...If it works for you, that's great.

I'm currently playing with my nephew's Android phone [an HTC Dream, the first Android phone model in Canada]. He's on his 3rd Android phone now, so it's kind of mine for keeps!
