Embassy protesters burn US flag

Protesters outside the US embassy in London have set fire to a US flag during a minute's silence held to mark the moment when the first hijacked airliner hit the World Trade Centre in New York 10 years ago.

A number of radical Islamic groups including Muslims Against Crusades (MAC) gathered outside the embassy on the tenth anniversary of the attacks.

The group of around 100 men shouted "USA terrorists" and brandished anti-American placards.

Earlier a group of English Defence League protesters, who had gathered in response to the demonstration, were ordered to move on to accommodate the MAC supporters.

The 60-strong group of EDL supporters briefly scuffled with police as they were forced away from their original location to a different part of Grosvenor Square.

Several members of the Muslim groups made anti-American speeches following the flag burning.

One said: "You will always face suffering, you will always face humiliation, unless you withdraw your troops from Muslim lands."

Another declared that America had been "defeated in Iraq and defeated in Afghanistan".

We could build a huge church in the middle of Islamabad that dominates the skyline, set up chippys and shops on every corner, assault the locals who dare to come into "our" part of town, set up specialist shops selling pork products and non-halal meat, protest to the government that the name "Ramadan" is offensive to our religion, and ask that they make it more inclusive by changing it to "Starve Yourself Fest." :tup:

Maybe we should show them what real war is and instead of trying to limit civilian casualties, just lay waste to the entire countries so that they are uninhabitable. That way we wouldn't even need troops on the ground.

Wait until Iran gets their first nuke. Countries with nukes get treated with kids gloves, or if they become violent, they'll be decimated completely. The middle ground disappears.

Edit: Even North Korea knows they could never use a nuke in an act of aggression because they'll be turned into a parking lot. Iran will either figure that out too or be destroyed due to their own stupidity.

The thing that made me laugh was a reporter on tv over here this morning saying they were shouting about their freedoms and rights, which are freedoms and rights they have in OUR country, if they had made these kind of demonstrations in their own nation countries they would have been rounded up and beaten or shot.

And WE allow them!

But what WAS nice to see was other 'modern muslims' who were protesting against the extremists saying piss of with that shit your giving us ALL a bad name, which is true! There are loads of muslims who are probably good people but my reaction, like others i suppose, that hear muslim and immediatley think crazy extremists..
