An Ellicott School District 22 school board member has been arrested on suspicion of "sexting" a 14-year-old high school student.
Stefanie Dickinson, 37, was booked into the El Paso County jail on Sunday on suspicion of Internet luring of a child, a Class 4 felony, after a deputy found a series of text messages on the 14-year-old's phone offering to have sex with him, authorities said.
She has since posted a $3,000 bond, said Sgt. Mike Schaller, El Paso County Sheriff's Office spokesman.
Dickinson, treasurer of the school board, is one of two board members fighting a recall effort that began amid several concerns including poor fiscal oversight and a lack of improvement in teacher retention rates.
Attempts by The Gazette to reach Dickinson were not successful Monday.
