COLLEGE TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- Huntingdon resident Julie Dick-Carson is facing charges of reckless driving, driving under the influence and endangering the life of her infant son, who was in the backseat when she lost control of her car, crossed five lanes of traffic and crashed into an embankment.

The accident happened on East College Ave. near the Nittany Mall on July 26.

Authorities say Dick-Carson was under the influence of Difluoreothane, a chemical inhalant from a can of Ultra Duster, which was seen between her legs in the upright position by first responders after the crash.

When asked if she had been huffing the duster before the crash, she said, “I don’t think so.”

Firefighters used ropes to rescue Dick-Carson and her son from the severely damaged Mazda; the infant was flown to Geisinger Hospital in Danville and is still recovering from a skull fracture.

Dick-Carson was released and is due back in court next month.
