PLYMOUTH, England - A British man attacked a teenage boy who "killed" his character in an online computer war game, a court in southern England has heard.

Father-of-three Mark Bradford, 46, was awaiting sentencing Friday after he admitted storming round to the boy's home and grabbing him around the throat after the youngster teased him about winning "Call of Duty: Black Ops," the Plymouth Herald reported.

The boy, who has not been named, was playing the popular shooter game on his Sony PlayStation console on July 1 this year when he began competing with Bradford through the game's online multiplayer mode and using microphones to communicate, Plymouth Magistrates' Court was told.

Prosecutor Gareth Warden said, "Mr. Bradford was killed during the game and the boy called him a name."

Bradford then left his own apartment and went to the boy's address where he carried out the attack, which left a scratch and a reddening of the neck.

Bradford's lawyer, Tracey Baker, said he had mental health issues and "just lost it" after being provoked by the boy's name-calling.

He will be sentenced next month.
