Yeah, Colorado has really 3 different 'weather zones' if you will. There's the mountains, with their elevation it keeps it a lot cooler, especially considering how far south the state is. Then there's the front range along the mountains where Denver is, and then there's the eastern plains which are dry, dry, dry.

Hal-9000
05-20-2011, 02:19 AM
You know when I figured out where you were in relation to the other states? About 2 months ago

My friend (the eye guy) was being sent down to Albuquerque to take a course for Cub Scouts...and every bloody plane trip seemed to go through Denver.
I remember asking him - Why the fook would they take such a roundabout way south on the flight?

We put the meth pipe and the syringes down for a moment to consult a map and then all became clear :)

At least we're not like some Americans.I've had to seriously answer questions about snow, igloos and the north pole that 8 yr old kids wouldn't ask... and the questions were posed by adults.
My favorite was - Aren't you guys north of Russia?

 I don't expect outsiders to know the internal provinces or cities in Canada but FFS...you should be familiar with basic continental geography.Especially when the country in question IS RIGHT ABOVE YOU

Don't you take allergy meds?

I take the over the counter meds and they usually work fairly well, but this week has been really bad, never had it this bad, I think I might need something a bit stronger from the Docs, and because it’s been like this for almost a week now, my eyes are red raw, I look like I’ve been in a boxing tournament

There's a couple here that used to need prescriptions but that you can buy over the counter now. So far they work pretty good for me.

No it's out city in general...I've mentioned we get very little precipitation and have a dry climate usually (sounds weird with all the snow we get)
so all of this constant rain is starting to take its toll everywhere.

Nothing like the headline news from down there....usually we can cope with a large runoff after the snow. Now it seems our sewers are just saying no :(

Yeah, I know, it's not 100° like some places in the US right now so obviously I don't know miserable, but until you have come to Denver and experienced just exactly how much hotter the sun is here because of the thinner air and altitude, then you have no idea (never mind being in the mountains at 10,000+ feet in elevation). I've lived where it got to 100° and 100% humidity, so I know full well just what that crap feels like and it's uncomfortable as hell too. But you can't do anything outside once it breaks 90° in Denver and the sun is out and there are no clouds and no breeze. You can literally feel the sun burning your skin.
