It's a mess this morning, lots of wet heavy snow. Hard to tell how much because the wind is howling and it's drifting in spots, but I would guess right now there's probably around 6 to 8 inches on the ground.

It won't last long after the snow stops because it's not that cold and the snow is really wet, but it's gonna be a mess driving to work for people this morning. On the way in I saw one person wipe out about 50 yards ahead of me on the interstate, saw another car off the road, and a jack-knifed semi on the other side of the interstate. Good times.

We had about a month of 0C and it felt like spring.Then it dropped from +2C down to -38C with the windchill, within one night :lol:

You know, you probably won't believe me, but I sometimes miss those ultra-cold days like that. It was nothing for it to get to -30° (-35C) without the wind when I was living in Vermont. There's nothing like the feeling when you open the door and step outside and take a deep breath...and then break into a coughing fit because the air is so freaking cold.

I worked 3rd shift and at lunch time at 3 AM we would all have to go out and start are cars to make sure they hadn't froze up. :lol: I used to go out and start my car in nothing more than short sleeves at -40°. And I would much rather have the extreme cold than the extreme heat any day of the week.

Yeah we don't have any plug ins here at work so I have to start my car every lunch.I'm the last guy to leave at night and if my car doesn't start I'm pretty much fooked :lol:

On the extreme heat vs cold thing....people can die within 120 seconds in -40C weather.In plus 40 degree weather you sweat and get dehydrated but you will live...for days...

It's a balmy 65f here today. It was at least a bit chilly this morning before sunup. It was 38f. Never lived where it got extremely cold, other than the Dakotas (-55f or so actual is the coldest I remember dealing with) and pity y'all that do.
