A man has exposed himself to several young girls in North Seattle was arrested about 1 a.m. Tuesday, Seattle police said.

"During the course of their investigation, detectives discovered that the suspect had been at Westlake Park, participating in Occupy Wall Street," Detective Renee Witt said in a statement. "Flyers of the suspect (were) circulated to officers and the public at the event."

Investigators identified the 29-year-old man, who had a birthday Friday, and said they saw on an Internet page that he planned to attend the Occupy Seattle protest. Kenmore assisted with the arrest after the man was not located in downtown Seattle.

Police say the suspect exposed himself in several incidents, and in some cases wore a black hooded sweatshirt with black pants. A sketch of the man was released last week to try and get public assistance.

The first alleged exposing incident happened about 2:40 p.m. on Sept. 29 near Holman Road Northwest and Northwest 90th Street. Later that afternoon, police say the man exposed himself again in the 5800 block of Southwest Lander Street and again near East Aloha Street and 23rd Avenue East.

Three days later, police say the suspect masturbated in front of two 13-year-old girls at the Pinehurst playfield at 12019 14th Ave. N.E. The suspect reportedly fled south on 14th Avenue Northeast and the young girls ran to a nearby store and reported the man to an off-duty officer.

On Oct. 3 police say the flasher struck again, exposing himself to three girls practicing soccer at Lakeside High School in the 14000 block of First Avenue Northeast. He allegedly ran when one of the girls screamed and fled in a car that had been parked on First, just south of Northeast 145th Street.

The suspect was booked into King County Jail about 1:45 a.m. and is expected to have a bail hearing Wednesday afternoon. Seattlepi.com does not typically name suspects until they're charged.
