Actress Lindsay Lohan posted bail less than an hour after a judge revoked her probation.

Lohan was handcuffed and sent back to jail Wednesday -- but she was able to make her $100,000 bail and was released from custody. It was unclear whether she had left the LAX courthouse or was still inside.

Lohan earlier this year served 35 days under house detention at her home in Venice, in lieu of a 120-day jail sentence, because her misdemeanor shoplifting conviction was a nonviolent offense.

L.A. County Superior Court Judge Stephanie Sautner said Lohan deliberately "blew off" the 360 hours of community service that she had been ordered to complete at the Downtown Women's Center, missing nine appointments and logging just 21 hours.

"I thought she could be of value to downtown women's center but obviously not," Saunter said. "She has to do 56 of 60 days [of community service] with six months already gone."

"How many violations have there been?" Sautner said, noting numerous prior transgressions. "Probation is a gift not a right."

Lohan's attorney, Shawn Holley, said the actress "had to earn a living to support herself and her family" and her opportunities are in Europe.

I dont see what the big deal is... She's just hurting herself... Winehouse was a bigger druggie than this girl ever wished...

What upsets me about LiHo...

If I got nailed committing a crime and the choice was either let's say 60 days in jail or 50 hours of community service, I would choose my freedom and do the community service. What I wouldn't do is ignore the sentence.I would fully expect my parole officer to return to me and say -You didn't hold up your end of the bargain, so it's time to go to jail.

Lohan has made a mockery of the American justice system and the incidents are too numerous to list...How she stays out of jail considering her actions and inactions just amazes me.

Even Chris Brown pulled his time... Not this lil' druggie..

She only bonded out until the next hearing on the 2nd...she could find herself right back in jail after that. Plus the judge put a buttload of restrictions she has to follow if she did bond out.

I wonder where the 100 g's come from each time she's incarcerated?

She can go to a bail bondsman and that way she only has to post 10%

So what's the point in setting bail at a million dollars when a guy only has to put up 10% ?

If bail as set at $1 million, then you still need to come up with $100K...and the bail bondsman will require you to put up collateral against the $900K he/she is putting up for your bond in case you skip out.

Ahhh so the arrangement is still binding as you have to put up 10% cash and then some worthy collateral for the balance.

So for Lindsay's 100000, she would post 10000 and then dump out her purse so the judge has the equivalent of 90 grand in coke and meth

Exactly....if you don't have the full amount or you can't come up with the needed collateral for a bail bondsman, then you are stuck in jail until trial.

Someone famous like Lindsay though may not be required to put up the collateral, they may just have her sign a promissory note saying she's good for it.

More smoke and mirrors by the queen of skank....she needs to go to jail and get tuned up by Dykey Denise in the shower.

No wait, Denise probably wouldn't want to contract a disease from the broom handle.

She may very well end up in jail after the 2nd...the judge at the hearing ripped into her today.

Also if you go to a bondsman, they keep the 10% you give them

How did you not know the 10% thing anyway, don't they show American movies in Canada?

I've watched it many moons ago.The whole idea of bail is redundant if you can mortgage yourself out of it...I think the rule should be changed. If bail is 500 grand, you come up with the cash or sit in jail until trial time.

No wonder your country is economically going to hell

Yeah but remember...if you skip your appointed court date...you owe the system ALL the money, not just the 10%. And the government will collect on that shit.

10% will get you out...but 100% is what you owe.

They take a big risk, they have to put up the other 90% and only get it back if you go back to court. But, they get back 100%
