there was one thing I didn't like about that episode...

What message were they trying to send?

Mr Shue gives them all collective shit after the assembly, saying drinking while performing or in school is wrong
and furthermore illegal, because they're supposed to be 16, 17 yr olds...

Then in the same breath he says - here's my number, if you do screw up and need a ride call me anytime.... AND then he says
they should try and stay sober until the nationals, after which I will buy you all sparkling cider.

really? a teacher enabling underage drinking?

Teh One Who Knocks

soooo classic that she hurls during that song

One thing I don't like...you ever notice how they get Artie to sing all the 'black' songs?
You see how he rolled up when he was hungover giving them all advice on hangover remedies and tried to do the hood-talk thing??

ffs I got more soul than that jackass

Teh One Who Knocks
02-26-2011, 01:06 AM
Especially since she pukes on Rachel

Santana: Ew, this tastes like cough syrup
Rachel: Oh, and there's cough syrup in it

 man

Teh One Who Knocks
02-26-2011, 01:43 AM

I didn't like that parting shot Curt gave his Dad - you should get out of your comfort zone once in awhile and learn about gay love...

ffs his Dad said he didn't want anyone sleeping over under his roof without his knowledge and that meant possible sexual partners.
I didn't think his Dad was being ignorant or homophobic at all

And you give me shit about Jersey Shore? :hand:

I used to think Glee was ghey...watched three episodes and was hooked. The humor and situations are a lot edgier than you would think. On a good episode, they'll do some popular tunes (ones you don't expect) and have great lines/jokes every two minutes.

The character of Sue Sylvester, the cheerleading coach is worth the price of admission herself  Some of the shite that comes out of her mouth is priceless.

I did the same thing with Fringe....for me the first half of season 1 was actually kinda slow and boring and didn't seem like it was going anywhere....then BOOM! It turned awesome and never looked back.

I got it! I figured out why Kurt's character pisses me off.Ok he has a good, unique voice...I liked his rendition of Blackbird.

It's the way he's a victim all of the time that upsets me.He's supposed to be setting an example for gay kids...come out, be yourself, be strong and proud etc.
Every show for about the past 10-15 shows, he's running scared, he's upset, he's mad at everyone that's trying to help him.

He's not setting a very good example for other gay people IMO.He seems to be a timid deer, bouncing from one bit of melodrama to the next and never being empowered in any way
by being different.

besides...he looks like Corky, the ventriloquist's dummy more and more each show

Teh One Who Knocks
03-20-2011, 05:43 PM
Oh no doubt, and his being pissy at everyone/everything has turned him from a likable character into a completely annoying one. It's to the point that I can't stand him anymore. Not to mention that he's supposed to be 17 (I beleive) and yet he has the demeanor of a 12 year old.

And you're right, he looks like a fucking ventriloquists dummy FFS

Has Glee Jumped the Shark Yet?
by Leslie Gornstein - E! Online

With yet another celebrity coming out to diss Glee, does that mean the show has jumped the shark?
—KNizz, via the inbox

I wouldn't use the phrase "coming out" if I were you, given that the disser was comedian turned antigay wingnut Victoria Jackson.

That said, yes, Glee just may be jumping the shark. And before you accuse me of serving Hatorade you didn't order, hear me out:

First, yes, a lot of stars have been dissing Glee, much to the righteous indignation of both creator guy Ryan Murphy and his massive ego. The list of the unimpressed now includes Jackson, Slash, the Kings of Leon, Dave Grohl, Miley Cyrus and—for a second, anyway—Babs.

Maybe they have reason.

The all-singing, all-dancing and—increasingly—all-preachy show has been showing signs of complacency, if not laziness. Take it away, real live TV historian who would know:

"You have to have a certain degree of reality for any show to work," begins Wesley Hyatt, author of many TV research books including the upcoming Television's Top 100. But instead, Hyatt says, some of the character storylines are getting sloppy, with people changing their motivations or emotions with seemingly no rhyme or reason other to serve a specific episode. Take Sue Sylvester, Hyatt says.

"She seems to be acting a bit willy nilly, speaking against bullying one day and then doing quite a bit of bullying herself." Of course you could chalk this up to a hypocrite of a character, but the inconsistencies don't end there.

"I can't really figure out what they are doing with Kurt's storyline," Hyatt points out. "They've indicated he has friendships and plenty of acceptance, and then he leaves to go a prep school. It just seems contrived, a story line for the sake of story line. That came out of nowhere.

"That's what happens a lot to soap operas when they start going downhill," Hyatt notes. "Writers creating decisions that violate the history of the characters."

Other indications that Glee has possibly outstayed its welcome after only two seasons? Ratings, perhaps. The March 15 episode won the ratings race for its night and time slot. But it also had about a million fewer viewers compared with the week before. And industry peers have not been kind either; Glee lost in every category for the most recent SAG Awards.

"If the [producers] don't watch it, they're going to start losing their fans quickly," Hyatt predicts. "A lot of younger viewers see a lot of themselves in that show. And if the writers are going to just come up with storylines that are nonsense, it's going to wear away their base."

And if all that isn't enough evidence of shark jumping for you, remember: Katie Holmes has said she loves the show.

And that lauren zizes chick does nothing for me in this show, its almost as if they got fed up of Puck being badass and beating on kids so thought they would make him a sissy after her!?

Yeah, I think this season is going downhill with each episode unfortunately. I'm hoping that it's just a 'sophomore slump' for the show and that it snaps out of it. The story lines keep changing and there is no consistency with anything anymore. it's like the characters change from week to week.

And I have just about had it with the 'in your face' gay themes that get worse with every passing episode :wha:

Hal-9000
04-20-2011, 02:36 AM
I don't mind the gay themes...I think kids need to see that and the message is good (especially for kids that are bullied, ostracized)

What the producers fail to realize however is that most gay kids don't have oodles of singing, dancing talent to fall back on ...in fact most kids don't have that kind of talent whether they're gay, overweight, goth whatever.

What I do hate is Kurt's disdain for everything and everyone in his life....yes you are gay, we get that. He's also a very pouty, whiny, critical bitch and that's not a good way to ingratiate yourself into social circles.Like we discussed before, everyone that tries to help him ends up getting some pissy comment thrown their way, no matter how nice or understanding they're being at the time.

Brittany should throw him down and infect Kurt with some good, juicy hetero love (and girl fleas)...just to spite him.

I don't know many Lady Gaga songs.I could only pick out the one at the end, did I miss something?
It started strong and then descended from there.A few good lines...Brittany - So you're Lebanese and I'm bi-curious, we could make it work

...and Corky with his ghey top hat returns to McKinley. He has such a strong and unique voice...so did Ethyl Merman

Curious that we were chatting in a pic thread earlier today about Lea Michele's nose and then it was featured prominently on tonight's episode

Teh One Who Knocks

Nope, they made a big deal about it basically being another Lady Gaga episode (that's why they supposedly lengthened it to 90 minutes) and the only Gaga song was the one at the end (Born This Way). I did think they did a good job on it.

The show has lost any type of continuity for me. Too many episodes that have nothing to do with any of the other episodes. And the show is becoming way preachy. Man, I used to love this show and now it's just become meh.

And it was so great to see Kurt back at McKinley so he could promptly sing....a show tune :|

Finally watched the season finale :-k

Actually liked it better than I thought I would with the way this season has mostly been. As the episode progressed though, it was easy to figure out how it was going to play out, so that was pretty predictable.

I actually liked the 2 original songs that they did for the episode, way better than the first couple of originals they did earlier this season (Brittany singing My Cup in the hotel room FFS  ) and Brittany had a cool little speech near the end. As a whole, the final two episodes of the year helped make up for mostly (for me) a pretty meh season after a spectacular first season.

Hopefully next year they find the formula they had during season 1 that made the show so good and that this was just a sophomore slump for the show.

:lmao: ohai Kurt!

right, i've watched the Finale . . . . and i have a few questions! :-s

1 - Quinn was planning a big surprise to win Finn back, what was it? . . . cos if it was to just be a little angry for half the episode then all happy and ‘hey guys’ the rest then . . . . . it worked!?

2 – Why did they make a big deal of trying to cheer Quinn up with the whole ‘you need a haircut’ thing then completely bypass the whole thing?

3 – wtf was up with the Rachel & Kurt sideshow?

4 – why, when in a previous episode, did Mr Schu agree to doing the Broadway production, AFTER SCHOOL WAS OUT FOR THE SUMMER, then decide he wasn’t going to do it because it would affect the kids confidence as they thought he was leaving them? Erm, it was out of term so it wouldn’t matter surely??

5 – where did the Mercedes and Sam romance suddenly blossom from? Having had a whole season where they barely exchanged a word together, this point just confused me?? (i imagine its a set up for a season 3 storyline)

This season really had me tempted to remove it from my series link, having given it another chance a few times too many, i doubt i will watch the next season.

There was just far too much inconsistencies in the story lines, too many things left out after having been set up in previous episodes.

They also ruined Coach Sylvester for me, she came over through the whole season as being a split personality, compare her to last season when she was badass all the time!

I know none of us can answer the questions posted . . . . . but at least i didn’t re-write the whole season like Hal did to Battlestar! ;)

I agree with all of the above...the season enders for most shows this year have disappointed me.They seem rushed, plot points overlooked and things like Sam and Mercedes 'instantly' hooking up seem contrived to me.I noticed the part about Mr Shue waffling over going to Broadway....over the summer...seemed ridiculous and didn't make much sense.

Uh-Oh! Is Glee Snubbing Ashley Fink?
by Bruna Nessif - E! Online

http://i.imgur.com/gFCaH.jpg

Talk about a slushie to the face.

We know that you guys are anxiously counting the minutes until the new season of Glee starts on Sept. 20, and are also wondering what fate has in store for Rachel and Finn. (Seriously, what's going on there?!)

But we've find out something else.

It looks like the show has decided to cut Ashley Fink's face time drastically. Find out more next, but beware of spoilers!

E! News confirms that season three won't be seeing much of the snarky, voluptuous songbird known Lauren Zizes.

Apparently, the tough girl will become less relevant by quitting New Directions and breaking poor Puckerman's (Mark Salling) heart by putting a stop to their romance.

WTF?

There's no sure-fire reason as to why production made this decision, but then again, Chris Colfer didn't know he'd be graduating off the show until he checked his Twitter.

However, in Fink's case, subtle hints were given. Apparently, Fink was not invited to the Primetime Emmy Awards or included in the New School Portraits with the rest of the cast.

Season premiere last night was good, a little heavy on the show tunes (3 of the 5 songs), but at least they were from good musicals and decent songs. Definitely felt more like season 1 than season 2, which is a good thing.

Hopefully they are going back to basics like season 1 was. Season 2 was pretty much a mess.

And Brittany had her first good one liner less than 2 minutes into the episode

And now knowing that she had implants and that she had the removed, you can definitely notice.

I liked that new girl Sugar, she was hilarious. I hope they keep her on and she just wasn't a one episode thing

And I have to say, Quinn looked hot as part of the Skanks

well compared to season 2, the opening credits were better than the whole season!

watched ep2 last night, i think i'm bored with it tbh. the fact i could sit there and surf the web while it was on gave this away. unless something dramatic/explosive storyline happens i may just remove it from my planner :-k (warbler getting Kurts role as jonny doesnt count as dramatic either . . . i saw that coming!)

i do hope it gets better and grabs my attention as it was a decent watch when it was at the top of its game . . . . i dont feel it is right now tho

Watched the mashup episode last night. it was ok but nothing more than that.

pisses me off still that Sue Sylvester can be such a harsh talking SOB one second then a kind hearted guilty soul moments later! Writers need to decide if she's a) a full time bitch or b) a split personality character and stic with the choice!

Santana was amazing as always, and the things id do to he little puerto rican ass . . . . isnt for safe for the public domain ;) . . . . . i love her smack talk and the convincing way she delivers it time and time again. but felt a little let down at how easily she was put down by Finn

i'm glad Santana had the Adele part of their mashup too as the way Adele sings it wouldnt have suited Mercedes' gospel diva voice . . . . .out of all the mashups on the show i think thta was the only one i really knew, or remembered at least
