General Electric Co. has chosen Colorado as the location for a $600 million solar panel factory, the Denver Post reported Thursday.

The state was among a group of 10 states contending for the facility, which GE announced in April that it planned to build. At the time, GE said the facility would be the biggest photovoltaic panel factory in the entire US.

Colorado development officials said the state beat out New York for the facility.
The plant is to going to be built in Aurora, just outside of Denver, according to one source.

It's a factory to create solar panels, not install them for mass power generation.

AT is right, it's a manufacturing facility, not an array they are building. But as far as the sun, Hal is right, we average 300 sunny days a year here in the Mile High city.

Porky, why would they build it in SoCal? Do you guys even know the sun exists with all that smog :nana:

Can I get a definition for Cholo or should I just google?

A cholo is term implying a Hispanic male that typically dresses in chinos (khahki pants), a wifebeater sleeveless teeshirt or a flannel shirt with only the top buttoned, a hairnet, or with a bandana around the forehead, usually halfway down over the eyes. Cholos often have black ink tattoos, commonly involving Catholic imagery, or calligraphy messages or family names.

I wouldn't have you straining your typing finger. I'll take the hit for you.

The definition is that hal has been watching a TV show called The Shield, about gang cops in LA and he shouldn't have used the term in friendly conversation
